With the 2024/25 Premier League season now firmly in the books, its time to look back on which players earned their place in the Fantasy Premier League team of the season based on how many points they scored across the entire campaign.
The 24/25 season brought all the usual high points that Premier League football always provides which helped FPL players around the world accumulate a vast number of points, which would contribute towards their final league positions.
Here are the official top scoring players per each position from the 2024/25 season in a 4-4-2 formation.
- GK: Jordan Pickford – Everton:
For the second straight year, England international and Everton shot stopper Jordan Pickford retained his status as the top points earner out of all other goalkeepers as Forest’s Matz Sels bolstered a respectable score of 150 points but would ultimately finish eight behind Pickford who enjoyed a tremendous second half stint with Everton following the return of David Moyes as manager, which sparked the Toffees late season form and a convincing end to what initially seemed to be a rather challenging season.
- LB: Josko Gvardiol – Man City:
24/25 was a majorly disappointing season for Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City team as they failed to claim a single trophy for the first time since the Spaniard’s debut campaign back in 2017.
However, if there was one major bright spot it would have to be Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol who chipped in with an impressive five league goals from defense as well as 153 accumulated points earning himself the mantle as the most valuable fullback in FPL this past season.
- CB: Virgil Van Dijk – Liverpool:
Another year for Van Dijk results in the towering Dutch center half earning another well deserved spot in the FPL team of the season with 143 points as he played a pivotal role in anchoring Arne Slot’s Liverpool defense that would cruise to their second Premier League title, which has placed the Reds as firm favorites to claim a consecutive title according to the latest football betting outright odds on William Hill.
CB: Nikola Milenkovic – Nottingham Forest:
Despite ultimately missing out on a place in the Champions League, Nottingham Forest’s 24/25 was an incredible success as they achieved European football for the first time since they returned to the Premier League.
Forest’s free flowing, counter attacking style of play certainly took all the headlines in the tabloids throughout the season, yet they also maintained the best defense in the league that kept the most clean sheets thanks to Sels’ outstanding performance in goal as well as Serbian defender Nikola Milenkovic who racked up an impressive 145 points to earn his place in the FPL TOTS.
- RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – Liverpool:
While this will be the last time we see Alexander-Arnold as an option in FPL for the time being, following his confirmed departure to Real Madrid, he certainly signed off in the best way possible for his FPL selectors as he finished with 148 points to out duel Palace’s Daniel Munoz as the best RB for players thanks in large part to his attacking versatility and technical brilliance.
- LM: Bryan Mbeumo – Brentford:
Mbeumo has always been considered to be a solid option for FPL players since he arrived in the Premier League with Brentford in 2021, however 24/25 was truly his breakout year following Ivan Toney’s departure to Saudi Arabia as he found the net on 20 occasions in the league, racking up 236 points and surely ending the season as a major target both on the FPL and summer transfer market.
MID: Cole Palmer – Chelsea:
While it was very clear that Cole Palmer ended the season on somewhat of a cold streak, there is no denying that his red hot form from the earlier months of the season would be more than enough to earn him a place in the FPL TOTS with 214 points as he helped Chelsea clinch a top four finish and win the Conference League a short while later.
- MID: Jarrod Bowen – West Ham:
West Ham endured a very underwhelming season after a hefty summer of spending but it would be their England international winger that would help them stave off any sort of relegation woes as Bowen spearhead the Irons to some crucial results following the appointment of Graham Potter, earning 193 points in the process.
- RM: Mohammed Salah – Liverpool:
A record setting year for Salah both on the pitch for Liverpool and for all FPL users as his incredible 344 points is by far the largest sum ever tallied by an individual player, which beat out his own previous record of 303 back in 2017/18.
Salah ended the season as the league’s top scorer with 29 goals and 18 assists as he led Liverpool to the league title in convincing fashion, which could leave him as the quintessential selection in next year’s FPL season for most players.
- FOR: Alexander Isak – Newcastle:
What a sublime season for the supremely talented Swede Alexander Isak as he helped the Magpies clinch a Champions League spot and end their long wait for a trophy as Newcastle would win the League Cup earlier in the season, with Isak chipping in with an impressive 23 goals in the league and a score of 211 points, which earned him a place in the FPL TOTS as the top forward from this season.
- FOR: Chris Wood – Nottingham Forest:
The veteran striker put on a clinic throughout the 24/25 season as he broke the 20 Premier League goal duct for the first time in his career, playing a central role in Forest’s European clinching season while attaining 200 points in a campaign to remember for the City Ground Faithful.
- Manager: David Moyes – Everton:
