Woofbet Tournament Spotlight Gameweek 23 – Fantasy Premier League Betting
We at FF247 have been trialing a relatively new and exciting website since just before Christmas and many of you have already been on WooFBet and hopefully both enjoyed and profited from the experience. We have been impressed with the set-up, the ease of use, the innovative games, the customer service they provide and most of all the guys over there are a great team and fun to work with. As such we are delighted to announce an official partnership that we hope will be of benefit to not only both websites but also to our most important asset you our readers. If you have already been over there and played then please feel free to share your experiences and winnings (not literally). If you haven’t then we would encourage you to do so but be warned it’s quite addictive! The fact that you are reading this in the first place suggests you are a fantasy football fan and probably know your stuff so to not put that knowledge to good use and make a few quid doing so would be folly. Anyway enough of us rambling, let’s pass you over to Jamie and the guys at WooFBet themselves with a big warm FF247 welcome…
We’re very happy to announce that we’ve joined Fantasy Football 247 FC on a season long loan with the option for the move to be made permanent. We want to build solid roots in the fantasy football community to ensure our website develops in accordance to what our users want and where would be better than this thriving community of unsung managerial legends? Each week we’ll be writing a tournament spotlight to highlight the tournaments you wouldn’t want to miss. With some ridiculous prizepools and exciting new concepts, your tactical prowess will be tested in the name of real money. Isn’t it time that your fantasy manager job paid off?!
Gameweek 23 kicks off this weekend and WoofBet has over €3000 up for grabs across 20 weekly tournaments. This week there’s a generous €650 in free entry prizes and a whopping €2700 in guaranteed pots. You also have the option to create your own tournaments and head-to-head challenges. Choose your own rules and buy-in fees then invite your friends or leave it open for the public to challenge you!
1 Player Per Team / Free Entry / €200 Prizepool
Despite making its debut only a few weeks ago, 1 Player Per Team has already become one of the most popular tournaments on Woofbet.com. Each week hundreds of managers compete to take a cut of the €200 prizepool with their carefully crafted squads, consisting of a few big names, a handful of differentials and sprinkling of outright gambles. Your team must consist of 15 players from 15 different Premier League teams that fit within the budget of 90M. It doesn’t cost you a penny (or should I say cent?) to enter and even if you finish 20th you can still expect a small return which you could withdraw or invest into a paid tournament with a more lucrative prizepool the following week. But of course finishing 20th isn’t an option! Finishing 1st and cashing in the big money is what you want. So how’s it done? There’s no denying the importance of captaincy selection, in GW21 if you didn’t give your armband to a certain Chilean winger then you could guarantee at least 30 people would already be laughing at you from the top of the table. The same almost applied last week when several managers were rewarded for sticking to the start of season ‘Captain Costa’ philosophy, when the big man stomped 2 goals past Fabianski and picked up an assist in Chelsea’s comfortable 5-0 win at the Liberty Stadium. However, last weeks tournament winner proved that a good all round selection can beat a lucky captain choice as he picked up the title despite being the only team in the top 15 to have not captained Costa. Aside from captaincy selection it’s your knowledge of in-form differential choices and educated punts that’ll take your team to glory. Last week teams with differentials such as Gayle, Eila & Puncheon left managers who fielded the big guns such as Aguero, Silva & Di Maria scratching their heads. So think carefully about who you choose from each team, don’t be afraid to take a gamble and choose your skipper wisely! FF247 – Low Budget / €5 Entry / No. of Entrants x €5 = Prizepool
Since the invention of create your own tournament we have seen all kinds of rules and prizepools crop up from week-to-week. This is a feature we are currently developing,
eventually allowing you to have full customisation over the rules, payouts and whatever else you want to customise. So if you wanted to create a tournament where you could only select bald players then… well maybe not quite to that extent (yet!), but setting parameters based on ownership % and so on are all in development. This week we’ve created our own tournament that we invite you to take part in and showcase your skills. The only catch, your budget would light up the eyes of club owned by Ken Bates and managed by Arsene Wenger. So if you thrive off signing players at bargain prices and watching them come up big then get to the sidelines, attempt to zip up your duvet looking coat, and show us why you selected a Polish defensive midfielder worth 4M that nobody’s ever heard of. For this tournament the budget is set to 75M which means that you have an average of 5M per player to spend on your 15 man squad. Immediately, your fantasy football subconscious will be shouting out names such as Kane, Ings and Berahino but these players will make up the average template team. It’s going to take someone special to earn you the differential points this weekend, but we’ll leave you to do your own research! Normal Rules / €30 Entry / €1000 Guarantee
For each gameweek on Woofbet we post 3 free entry (freeroll) tournaments and a variety of tournaments with guaranteed pots. A guaranteed pot is a prizepool that is fixed regardless of the amount of entrants; for example in this weeks €30 Entry – €1000 Guaranteed, if only 3 people enter the prizepool will still stand at €1000 and will be split between the 3 entrants regardless of their entry fee only equating to €90. So if you fancy yourself as a bit of a high roller or have been cashing in that big Woofbet money over the last few weeks then you no doubt have the skills to take things to the next level. Who knows, you could probably make being a fantasy football manager your actual job with these kind of returns. As these tournaments have a lower number of entrants due to the buy-in fee, you can guarantee that if you get your captaincy decision correct you will definitely turn a profit from the tournament. However, last weeks winner backed Hazard with the armband and although the Belgian blanked his all round team performance was enough to clinch the victory. If you don’t quite have €30 to invest then fear not! There is a range of guarantee pots ranging from €3 Entry – €100 Guaranteed to €20 Entry – €800 Guaranteed so you’ll be able to find one in accordance to your budget. On behalf of WoofBet, I’d like to wish you all the best of luck in this weeks tournaments. Feel free to share your teams and keep us posted on how you’re doing via Twitter or Facebook.
Woofbet is a good laugh. Won a wee bit of cash for free too.
Has anyone cashed out yet, is it reliable enough?
Yebo EBC I have cashed out my lovely Euros and turned those bad boys into Rands. Very easy process as well
Paypal is being introduced in the coming weeks to make the process easier. If you have any questions or issues give me a shout, always happy to help!
Morning all.
Great article on Woofbet here so well done Jamie.
Of course I am a week one veteran of Woofbet and I just love it. My Friday night highlight!
I have not placed one penny in (yet – not that I won’t in time) and I have built myself a pot of $68.47 so really enjoying it. I always buy in to at least one pot each week so Woofbet get a little bit back from me.
Keep up the great work guys. Delighted we have an affiliation with you officially now. Not a bad ‘loan’ signing
Nice job mate!
I won the Xmas special (£10 entry – £1000 guarantee) that ran over 3 GW’s. The winnings accounted for 4 months rent (albeit in Budapest), but it was a good feeling.
Except from that I fancy my chances every week in 1PPT, but always seem to get my captaincy selection wrong!
I’ve got €50 sitting in my account. I’ve told the mrs I’ll take her out for dinner when I’ve won enough, she could be waiting for a while
Kop
That’s dinner and a night over for me! You must treat the Mrs well mate
GP, never mind the Mrs, I’ve got expensive tastes Oh and Dublin isn’t cheap either!!
Jamie,
Nice win. I’m happy with my little lot so far. You’re doing great mate thank you.
Wenger….
“I am unlikely to risk Sanchez at the weekend”.
Cue chaos, panic and severe vomiting !!
The Costa decision is also today…if Sanchez, Costa and Chadli are out then take me out of the oven because I am done.
Thank God I’m on WC
Will probably keep Sanchez on the bench but will be getting rid of Costa & Chadli.
Would like a punt on Walcott against Villa at home but not sure I can accommodate him.
Forgot I also had Fabregas, not sure its worth keeping him on the bench aswell as Sanchez!
Ah o well, Aguero will feature from my bench :hippo:
Big blue, as the barer of bad news. I blame you. Unfair or not take it like a man. 😉
Mito would be proud of me!
I blame mito as well then!
Cookie
Love it !
Makes it interesting!!
So do we stick with an Arsenal captain or look elsewhere? Defoe captain anyone?
I’m thinking Giroud….
migs
Its probably re-inforced my Pelle pick now. Need to think outside the box a bit now.
Gp, evening lad. So how’s your wc team looking now? Mine has more nonstarters now than when I hit the confirm button! Ah the joys of fantasy football!!
Alex
Got Sanchez, Fabregas and Pocognoli problems to deal with. The rest is fine for now but got an eye for Aguero for Rooney next week too.
Foster/Pantillimon
Hutton/Wollscheid/Terry/Bertrand/Pocognoli
Boyd/Hazard/Fabregas/Sanchez/ADM
Rooney/Pelle/Kane
1 FT (which I had hoped to bank!)
GP- I like that pick, fancy the Saints to do well against a dismal Swansea side. With regards to your side, are you wanting to carry on with Haz as well as Fab? Due to circumstance maybe now is a good time to get rid of Fab fro the time being. Caz or Walcott this weekend couldn’t hurt
Gp, feast your eyes on this mate. Would love your advice on where to start with that team?! Happy to take a hit! Yours looks fine, sneaky sideways move for van a maybe?
Alex
I feel that id Sanchez and Fabregas are out for one week then it would be short-sighted to get rid of them. I’d try to limp on if you can. I plan to.
Cameron is a doubt too now his place seems to be unsecure. Maybe you require a -4 and dare I say it, on defenders?!>!
How about Debuchy and Cameron out for Bellerin and Wollscheid?
GP, cheers mate. My thought was fab and cameron to punchon and kischlney. I like bellerin but don’t know how secure his starts are going to be. So you think hold fab even with Costa gone? Or is that more of a reason to hold?
Alex
I’m holding Fabregas until I hear he is out for a sustained period. I’d hate to get rid of him and he is only out this weekend.
I’m thinking (for a -4), Costa and Chadli out, Giroud and Eriksen in. Thoughts?
TJ
Looks a decent shout to me if Chadli has definitely been ruled out.
TJ, is Chadli not expected to play? I like the Giroud move but don’t think a hit is necessary
Migs he’s back here but hadn’t trained for 10 days prior to yesterday. Probably on the bench you’d think.
Ok I see, thanks Innit. what is the rest of your team then TJ?
any thoughts on this WC team guys?
was thinking to find cash to do jones > kos and not completely sold on gayle up top but the cheapness allows me to get ADM in who a lot have in my mini leagues…
overall thoughts appreciated. thanks.
Rainman- with that team you are always going to be forced to play two of Gayle, Ward prowse and Gayle. I actually think you need to go the other way and drop Jones for a cheapie and try and upgrade one of Gayle or Ward prowse. Just think you are a midfield player light
*meant albrighton sorry
ah, can save 0.1m going fonte instead of bertrand; that 4.6 I can up alby to a starter.. is that what you meant? I think either way I am going to be light in midfield unless I get rid of bertrand/terry. I started off real slow so team value is only at 103.8m.. managed to make make my way to 80k rank with scraps and picks here and there.
I see Gayle as Kane so either way i’d have been playing them once a week. And to be honest I don’t mind playing JWP – the guy bags assists more than the next man…
I could take out Jones for a cheapie defender, saves me 1m + 0.3m in bank and get rid of 5.0 gayle for 6.3m who?!?! not much else in the lower bracket…
I’d be happy to play JWP every week. People just see the price tag and think he’s a lightweight. He’s not.
agreed. he’s a set piece assist magnet.
would you change anything up with my team there init?
with that lineup going 4 at the bank at times is also possible.. really don’t want to regret getting rid of Kane…. or not having Kos (maybe instead of Bertrand…) – ahhhhhghh the choices!!
Init,
I agree entirely. Getting over the low pricetag ‘hurdle’ is vitally important in the fantasy game.
Almost as much as buying someone because they are over ‘X’ amount and therefore they must be worth it.
Well said init lad.
Albrighton stands out like a sore thumb but to get anyone better who plays you’d have to lose Terry or Bertrand so probably not worth the messing for someone you’ll be tucking away at the back of your bench most weeks anyway. Apart from this week perhaps!
*takes a bow
What to do after Fab & Sanchez are doubts? 0.2 in bank – 1FT.
De Gea – Krul
Terry – Fonte – Wollscheid – Keane – Wisdom
Sanchez – Di Maria – Fabregas – Downing – Boyd
Aguero – Pelle – Kane
