Woofbet Tournament Spotlight Gameweek 23 – Fantasy Premier League Betting
We at FF247 have been trialing a relatively new and exciting website since just before Christmas and many of you have already been on WooFBet and hopefully both enjoyed and profited from the experience. We have been impressed with the set-up, the ease of use, the innovative games, the customer service they provide and most of all the guys over there are a great team and fun to work with. As such we are delighted to announce an official partnership that we hope will be of benefit to not only both websites but also to our most important asset you our readers. If you have already been over there and played then please feel free to share your experiences and winnings (not literally). If you haven’t then we would encourage you to do so but be warned it’s quite addictive! The fact that you are reading this in the first place suggests you are a fantasy football fan and probably know your stuff so to not put that knowledge to good use and make a few quid doing so would be folly. Anyway enough of us rambling, let’s pass you over to Jamie and the guys at WooFBet themselves with a big warm FF247 welcome…
We’re very happy to announce that we’ve joined Fantasy Football 247 FC on a season long loan with the option for the move to be made permanent. We want to build solid roots in the fantasy football community to ensure our website develops in accordance to what our users want and where would be better than this thriving community of unsung managerial legends? Each week we’ll be writing a tournament spotlight to highlight the tournaments you wouldn’t want to miss. With some ridiculous prizepools and exciting new concepts, your tactical prowess will be tested in the name of real money. Isn’t it time that your fantasy manager job paid off?!
Gameweek 23 kicks off this weekend and WoofBet has over €3000 up for grabs across 20 weekly tournaments. This week there’s a generous €650 in free entry prizes and a whopping €2700 in guaranteed pots. You also have the option to create your own tournaments and head-to-head challenges. Choose your own rules and buy-in fees then invite your friends or leave it open for the public to challenge you!
1 Player Per Team / Free Entry / €200 Prizepool
Despite making its debut only a few weeks ago, 1 Player Per Team has already become one of the most popular tournaments on Woofbet.com. Each week hundreds of managers compete to take a cut of the €200 prizepool with their carefully crafted squads, consisting of a few big names, a handful of differentials and sprinkling of outright gambles. Your team must consist of 15 players from 15 different Premier League teams that fit within the budget of 90M. It doesn’t cost you a penny (or should I say cent?) to enter and even if you finish 20th you can still expect a small return which you could withdraw or invest into a paid tournament with a more lucrative prizepool the following week. But of course finishing 20th isn’t an option! Finishing 1st and cashing in the big money is what you want. So how’s it done? There’s no denying the importance of captaincy selection, in GW21 if you didn’t give your armband to a certain Chilean winger then you could guarantee at least 30 people would already be laughing at you from the top of the table. The same almost applied last week when several managers were rewarded for sticking to the start of season ‘Captain Costa’ philosophy, when the big man stomped 2 goals past Fabianski and picked up an assist in Chelsea’s comfortable 5-0 win at the Liberty Stadium. However, last weeks tournament winner proved that a good all round selection can beat a lucky captain choice as he picked up the title despite being the only team in the top 15 to have not captained Costa. Aside from captaincy selection it’s your knowledge of in-form differential choices and educated punts that’ll take your team to glory. Last week teams with differentials such as Gayle, Eila & Puncheon left managers who fielded the big guns such as Aguero, Silva & Di Maria scratching their heads. So think carefully about who you choose from each team, don’t be afraid to take a gamble and choose your skipper wisely! To open the tournament page in a new tab click here (upon logging in/signing up you’ll be directed to the team selection page).
FF247 – Low Budget / €5 Entry / No. of Entrants x €5 = Prizepool
Since the invention of create your own tournament we have seen all kinds of rules and prizepools crop up from week-to-week. This is a feature we are currently developing,
eventually allowing you to have full customisation over the rules, payouts and whatever else you want to customise. So if you wanted to create a tournament where you could only select bald players then… well maybe not quite to that extent (yet!), but setting parameters based on ownership % and so on are all in development. This week we’ve created our own tournament that we invite you to take part in and showcase your skills. The only catch, your budget would light up the eyes of club owned by Ken Bates and managed by Arsene Wenger. So if you thrive off signing players at bargain prices and watching them come up big then get to the sidelines, attempt to zip up your duvet looking coat, and show us why you selected a Polish defensive midfielder worth 4M that nobody’s ever heard of. For this tournament the budget is set to 75M which means that you have an average of 5M per player to spend on your 15 man squad. Immediately, your fantasy football subconscious will be shouting out names such as Kane, Ings and Berahino but these players will make up the average template team. It’s going to take someone special to earn you the differential points this weekend, but we’ll leave you to do your own research! To open the tournament page in a new tab click here (upon logging in/signing up you’ll be directed to the team selection page).
 Normal Rules / €30 Entry / €1000 Guarantee
For each gameweek on Woofbet we post 3 free entry (freeroll) tournaments and a variety of tournaments with guaranteed pots. A guaranteed pot is a prizepool that is fixed regardless of the amount of entrants; for example in this weeks €30 Entry – €1000 Guaranteed, if only 3 people enter the prizepool will still stand at €1000 and will be split between the 3 entrants regardless of their entry fee only equating to €90. So if you fancy yourself as a bit of a high roller or have been cashing in that big Woofbet money over the last few weeks then you no doubt have the skills to take things to the next level. Who knows, you could probably make being a fantasy football manager your actual job with these kind of returns. As these tournaments have a lower number of entrants due to the buy-in fee, you can guarantee that if you get your captaincy decision correct you will definitely turn a profit from the tournament. However, last weeks winner backed Hazard with the armband and although the Belgian blanked his all round team performance was enough to clinch the victory. If you don’t quite have €30 to invest then fear not! There is a range of guarantee pots ranging from €3 Entry – €100 Guaranteed to €20 Entry – €800 Guaranteed so you’ll be able to find one in accordance to your budget. To open the tournament page in a new tab click here (upon logging in/signing up you’ll be directed to the team selection page).
On behalf of WoofBet, I’d like to wish you all the best of luck in this weeks tournaments. Feel free to share your teams and keep us posted on how you’re doing via Twitter or Facebook.
Diego Costa suspended for three games after Independent Regulatory Commission upholds charge
COSTA banned for 3 games
Damnit!!
So Costa is banned and Sanchez is confirmed out for the weekend with Fabregas on a yellow flag this weekend has got a whole lot harder.
I’m in the same boat Matt…it’s not good
It’s terrible mate!! I played my 2 FTs and had my WC all planned out but now have to take a hit on Costa and then re plan my WC. Not going to take another hit on Sanchez will just leave him on the bench.
Costa to giroud it is then
should’ve held that wild card. damn.
Anyone know why Ivanovic is yellow flagged??
I think he picked up an injury Tuesday during the Liverpool match.
Bloody Mourinho and his Press Conference stunts, I need to know about Fab & Ivan!
