Woofbet Tournament Spotlight Gameweek 25 – Fantasy Premier League Betting
If you fell asleep for a few days or did something better like water your grass then don’t worry, you didn’t miss much. To briefly summarize this weekend the score lines were between 0-0 and 2-1 until Burnley and West Brom blessed us with a 4-goal thriller, and in terms of fantasy returns… your players probably didn’t do anything too special. Out of the 19 goal scorers only 3 (Kane, Hazard, Ivanovic) had an ownership of over 5%. So unless your team was led out by skipper Jores Okore and boasted the attacking threat of Crouchy, Meyler and Ideye, it’s more than likely you had a rather dull weekend. BUT FEAR NOT, as if it’s a gift that’s been sent down from the fantasy football gods, another gameweek is already upon us. Kicking off tomorrow are 4 games that could bring exciting results such as 2-0 or 3-1, followed by another 6 matches that might contain goals from players that you actually have. So brace yourselves managers as this week you might score more than 60 points!!
Gameweek 25 kicks off this TUESDAY and Woofbet.com has thousands up for grabs across 10 mid-week tournaments. This gameweek there’s a generous €300 in free entry prizes and a whopping €1500 in guaranteed pots. You’ll also have the option to create your own tournaments and head-to-head challenges. Choose your own rules and buy-in fees then invite your friends or leave it open for the public to challenge you!
Double Or Nothing / €20 / €300 Guaranteed Prizepool
If you’re consistently coming in the top half but are either wrongly selecting your captain or lacking the creative gambles to set your team apart; then we’ve got a brand new tournament that’s perfect for you! Double Or Nothing simply means if you finish in the top half you get your money doubled, if you finish in the bottom half you get absolutely nothing. In terms of ‘low risk – high returns’ this is about as good as it gets! To put this in perspective; you just need to finish around where Stoke are in the table this season, not even in a UEFA spot. The entrance fee is €20 and the prizepool is fixed at €300 until there are over 15 entrants (where it will then continue to rise by €20 per entrant). Not much considering all we’re asking is that you perform to a similar standard as Mark Hughes. If you get your captaincy selection correct you can almost guarantee your money getting doubled, but if not you can always rely on a Walters hat-trick or a last minute looping header to send you in to the top half. Full Round / Free Entry / €300 Prizepool
The Full Round €300 is the only free entry tournament of the gameweek so we’re expecting a record destroying number of participants. With this in mind, it also technically makes it our toughest competition yet with hundreds of skilled managers all competing for a cut of the prizepool. We wouldn’t want to put any pressure on you or anything, but to win you’re going to have be the best. This means, your defence will need to keep clean sheets, your attack will need to tally up a substantial amount of goals and assists and your captain… well your captain needs to be this weeks highest scorer. Like we said: “we don’t want to put the pressure on you”. This being said it only took 66 points to beat 214 other managers to the top in gameweek 24 and the table looked set until we once again experienced ‘joy of the auto sub’. Blind made his way in off the bench to provide a tournament defining 8 points that he picked up with his last minute volley at West Ham. Don’t go aiming for 66 points this week though as we imagine it’ll place you around mid-table, or at least we hope it will for the sake of an entertaining gameweek. Winner Takes It All / €20 Entry / €500 Guaranteed Prizepool
Over at Woofbet.com we’re known for being a generous bunch and that clearly reflects on our payout percentages. We take pride in acknowledging those managers who finish in the top 10%, whether that means rewarding them with a handful of euros for coming 13th or a few quid for coming 22nd. That’s why we would like to make a formal apology to all of our users ahead of discussing our second brand new tournament starting this week! Winner Takes It All is pretty self-explanatory name. If you come first you win the entire prizepool which currently stands at a guaranteed amount of €500 (for every entrant after 25 the prizepool will rise by €20). So if you think you’re one of the best then put your money where your mouth is and get your hands on the biggest payout in Woofbet history. As this tournament didn’t exist last week we don’t have a winning team to show you, so instead we’ve located the highest scoring team out of all our guaranteed tournaments. This weeks total was a mere 64, which is impressive considering how quiet this gameweek was, but usually it would grab you at most €1. If there’s one thing you can take from this team it’s the importance of captaincy selection as Kane managed to gather more points than the entire team who finished bottom place in the same league. On behalf of WoofBet, I’d like to wish you all the best of luck in this weeks tournaments. Feel free to share your teams and keep us posted on how you’re doing via Twitter or Facebook!
Hi guys. Not sure whether to bring in Bellerin for Wasilewski or Pieters.
Tom,
I’d go for Wasielewski. Not impressed by Leicester at all. Pieters will be back and in all likliehood playing, soon.
Yes, and Was has a blank GW in GW27. Him and all the QPR/Chelsea/Spurs players.
