Welcome to World Cup 1st Group Phase Live Match Chat. The long four year wait is over and so is the tinkering for the first set of matches. We hope that you are happy with the 15 players you ended up with, but even if you decided against playing the fantasy version we still encourage you to partake in the chat below. We are sure there will be plenty to discuss that doesn’t always involve whether you should get assist points for a shot that was blocked or your striker really did touch the ball a la Kane before it went in. Predictor games, brackets, bets on the golden boot are all welcomed here. And yeah, even old school footy chat for those that who are just watching the games for fun and just want to talk about the Joga Bonito.
So that you have them to hand, we will post a screenshot of the substitution rules, transfer allotment, wildcard, boosters and of course we will have times and dates for all matches in this, the first of three group phases/rounds/fixtures or whatever you want to call it.

I’m going Carrasco. I dont have Meunier though.
The way the captains, Ronaldo apart, have been going who knows.
Supposedly Meunier is playing in an advanced wide position and should at least pick up a clean sheet. Maybe you should take a punt!

I’m looking forward to watching England tonight. Really hope the natural innocence of youth will shine through and they play with a bit of freedom. I’ve seen so many England teams in the past being absolutely stifled by fear.

I have Griezmann set as my Captain, sitting on 16 points right now. The viable options left now are Forsberg, Lukaku and Falcao.
Is it worth switching? If I were to switch the most likely option would be Lukaku, but is it worth gambling?
Everyone is going Lukaku for today. It will be shocking if he doesn’t at least match Griezmann’s score.
You can’t keep Luka as C now as teams are locked for todays matches so I would keep on Griez now
Actually I had 15 minutes left to go and managed to sneak it in. He scored a brace courtesy excellent work from Kevin and Hazard, and made it worth. But I was surely worried when he wasn’t scoring.
