Welcome to World Cup 1st Group Phase Live Match Chat. The long four year wait is over and so is the tinkering for the first set of matches. We hope that you are happy with the 15 players you ended up with, but even if you decided against playing the fantasy version we still encourage you to partake in the chat below. We are sure there will be plenty to discuss that doesn’t always involve whether you should get assist points for a shot that was blocked or your striker really did touch the ball a la Kane before it went in. Predictor games, brackets, bets on the golden boot are all welcomed here. And yeah, even old school footy chat for those that who are just watching the games for fun and just want to talk about the Joga Bonito.
So that you have them to hand, we will post a screenshot of the substitution rules, transfer allotment, wildcard, boosters and of course we will have times and dates for all matches in this, the first of three group phases/rounds/fixtures or whatever you want to call it.

You have to feel sorry for that young keeper made a great save to stop that header and then goes off to injury which looks likely to rule him out for the rest of the tournament.
Hope it is not a case like Heaton/Salah….the GK looked quite good in the first 10 minutes.
I think it might be to be honest. He did look very decent and it was only his 3rd or 4th appearance so you have to feel for the lad.
Lingard misses a fantastic chance
Well my terrible Rd1 performance is: 48 points including (C) + Pickford + J Rod to go…..and if C.Sanchez starts, will put him subbing a 2 pt’er….week started with a Russian shock as my Russian def. did not start.
Anyway so far leaving ESP-POR, no other team has impressed much…hope to see more goals next round.
