World Cup 2014 Fixtures Schedule
Following on from our World Cup group by group analysis we are delighted to present to you our fixture tracker for the group stages. Many thanks to Andy who kindly volunteered to provide us with this along with his take on how it will all pan out in the usual colour coded fashion, complete with a current form guide which will give you an idea of how each team is shaping up in preparation for the big day. Hopefully this will be of some help to you all as you plan your fantasy teams and their progression through the group stages. We shall endeavour to update this as the competition progresses to the knock out stages to keep you as well informed as possible.

 Form Guide Key
W – Wins
D – Draws
L – Losses
F- Goals For
A- Goals Against
CS- Clean sheets attained in last 10 games
Rather than taking results from the last 6 games as per the norm I’ve stretched it out to include the last 10 games to try and include as much competitive football as possible as persistent freindly games are sometimes not the best stats to gather information from, I think only the Koreans have not had a competitive game in their last 10 games. The quality of opposition also varies greatly across the board.
NB All stats are up to date to the 23/05/14, all teams still have either 2 or 3 friendlies left to play until the competition kicks off.

Color Code Key
Purple – Not only do I think this team has a high chance of winning the game I also believe it may be possible for them to win by a fairly big margin.
Green – All green team games should be considered as favorites for this tie.
Yellow – All yellow team games should be considered, as it could possibly go either way.
Red – All red team games could see that team struggling in that corresponding fixture.

Thanks Andy! I know this only began as a throw away comment from yourself but it has ended up as an article! Well done mate and it is sure will be a useful tool come selection time.
What a handy tool this is, dear Andy. Bookmarked it already!!!
Thanks Andy, I wanted something that would clearly show me the fixtures so that I could see if there was any good rotating options between keepers and defenders, but I didn’t wanna make any effort on my own, so this comes in handy
Thanks Andy.
Great tool. And you’ve certainly saved a lot of people a lot of scribbling on an A4 pad.
Think of the trees you’ve saved Andy.

Fantastic work Andy!! You don’t mind if I borrow the extra colour for our FPL tracker when the season starts? I really like the extra separation of a fixture you could win to one you should win comfortably. Also was thinking of adding some other element to the tracker either with it or underneath it. Was thinking of a form guide home and away, but that is still in the works.
Once again great work Andy and personally for me this could become the new look for our tracker next season if it is approved by our 4 member board. 😉
Form guide yeah but adding the extra color to the EPL tracker may be a bold move, I benefit from having only the three fixtures per group and squads being locked so I thought highlighting possible high scoring wins wasn’t such a bad idea as users could look past the first fixture and maybe target players who have high scoring possibilities in rounds 2 and 3.
I also have the likes of Messi, Van Persie and Ribery coming up against far weaker opposition then what we normally see in the EPL.
The EPL tracker should also be used to cover a far wider spread of games (6) and their are far more chances of injuries and suspensions which could affect the tracker so I’d be far happier keeping to the 3 color system, Sunderland’s form at the back end of last season could have put a lot of egg on one’s face with the extra color.
Kinda agree, the BPL is too unpredictable to have another color as it is used here.
Point taken, but I hate sitting on the fence on so many fixtures in EPL. Frankly we all know that the English league is probably the toughest of the big leagues week in and week out. I hare classifying all games that do favour someone as a toss up because it can’t be classified as an easy game either. So kinda of looking at finding a difference between Very difficult, difficult, toss up, easy, very easy. But yeah, predicting EPL can be hard and one could completely get it wrong, but most of have us inklings on when a game looks like a possible mauling or it’s truly a toss up. But it’s something that will have to be discussed further over the summer as we definitely want to offer the best tool to help managers make plans over 3-5 weeks if possible . Thanks for the feedback
Andy
Well done on this. Gonna be very handy when the window becomes open.
Can’t split Group C then???
It is probably the most even-handed one in the tournament so not surprised to see all-yellow.
I thought the yellow was a hidden message favouring Colombia since that is their colour on their jersey. Or it could be favouring the Japanese…. :hippo:
:ban:
:turtle:
I agree, Andy should be banned. #terrible Luckily I was here to call him out on it. :ban:
Where would we be without you Mito?
Group C looks a nightmare to predict as all of the teams in it would have been happy with the draw, I was surprised to find that Japan has the best record out of all the teams in C in the WC. I think in total between the 4 teams they’ve played 40 odd WC games and won only 12 with none of them having ever reached the quarter finals.
The first goal in these games could be the deciding factor as I wouldn’t like to fall behind to either the Colombians or the Greeks.
Andy we have a sorry history in the world cup are two best moments were both ties. Although one did come against the eventual champion in the 1990 world cup. We were the only team that played them well in that cup, should have beaten them really. Dramatic goal in stoppage time to get us through to the next round. Probably the happiest I ever remember being watching footy.
