World Cup 2014 Fixtures Schedule
Following on from our World Cup group by group analysis we are delighted to present to you our fixture tracker for the group stages. Many thanks to Andy who kindly volunteered to provide us with this along with his take on how it will all pan out in the usual colour coded fashion, complete with a current form guide which will give you an idea of how each team is shaping up in preparation for the big day. Hopefully this will be of some help to you all as you plan your fantasy teams and their progression through the group stages. We shall endeavour to update this as the competition progresses to the knock out stages to keep you as well informed as possible.

Form Guide Key
W – Wins
D – Draws
L – Losses
F- Goals For
A- Goals Against
CS- Clean sheets attained in last 10 games
Rather than taking results from the last 6 games as per the norm I’ve stretched it out to include the last 10 games to try and include as much competitive football as possible as persistent freindly games are sometimes not the best stats to gather information from, I think only the Koreans have not had a competitive game in their last 10 games. The quality of opposition also varies greatly across the board.
NB All stats are up to date to the 23/05/14, all teams still have either 2 or 3 friendlies left to play until the competition kicks off.

Color Code Key
Purple – Not only do I think this team has a high chance of winning the game I also believe it may be possible for them to win by a fairly big margin.
Green – All green team games should be considered as favorites for this tie.
Yellow – All yellow team games should be considered, as it could possibly go either way.
Red – All red team games could see that team struggling in that corresponding fixture.

That seems like a weird system for the fantasy game. In MLS and the beta FPL they had, they had to recover like 6 balls before they got a point. The scoring would be so disproportional if they did a point for every recovery or a point for some of the other categories it be ridiculous. Let’s take for example one MLS player this weekend in one game. A guy from Columbus had 16 recoveries credited to him and 19 Clearance, blocks, Interceptions in a different category. Assuming all 16 recoveries count as a point of those 19 CBI’s some will be counted as blocks or recoveries, we could be looking at a little known defender to rack up anywhere from 25-30 points in one game. That means you be better sitting Messi even if you knew he was going to score a hat trick. Something is not right, I get the feeling we are missing something. Maybe the way they ser a recovery is different or they make a player get 6 or so in a game before they get awarded a point. Don’t know but something just doesn’t seem right.
Let’s just hope they are fully aware of what they have set up here as I can see myself picking a back 5 at this rate but I can equally see me then e-mailing them on the 13th asking why they have suddenly altered the rules after the comp has started once they realise their folly.
Mito, thats right. Points for ball recovery are insane. If the rules remain the same, we would probably be hoping for ball recoveries rather than scoring. So yeah, that would be fun. *sarcasm*
Anyway, getting a feeling that rules might change. Maybe 1 point for 4 or 5 recovered balls would be better.
I hope they change it a bit otherwise we might be picking players from the teams in red on the fixtures tracker instead of green or purple.

Just created the my Mirror fantasy team. Rules are very similar to our beloved FPL. You guys might light it. No shitty points for ball recoveries and crossing. :hippo:
Akinfeev (Russia)
Debuchy – Marcelo – Rojo (Arg LB)
Oscar – Pogba – Di Maria – Muller
Messi – Neymar (C) – Messi
Subs: Dominguez – Moutinho – B Alves – Janmaat
Thoughts are appreciated if you guys are fine with RMT’s coming in here too soon.
Impressive that you can field two Messi.
Oops.
One of them is actually Benzema.
Wow, Akinfeev only 4.0. He’s cheaper than many backup keepers :cuckoo:
Yup. And he rotates well with Domin in the group stages. Will bench Akin against Belgium only though.
Yeah, saw that too. We have the same keepers currently. This game is seriously lacking though – there’s only 12 Greece players, and none of them are keepers. It also includes players such as Navas who are not selected for the WC, so it needs to be updated.
Yeah the squads are not full for some teams. Im hoping the squads get updated.
I’m fairly confident that all squads need to be named on the 2nd so it should be updated properly in the next couple of days.

Got it, this one’s much more up my street, Cheers B.
(All you need now is league code’s 😉 )
Know who Spain’s preferred LB is (I assume Azpi is their RB)? Alba?
Yup. Should be Alba.
This is what I have so far:
Akinfeev
Debuchy – Barzagli – Alba
di Maria – Reus – Oscar – Shirokov
Ronaldo – Messi (C) – Neymar
Dominguez, Kagawa – Srna – Manolas
Made some changes, as Brazil and Mexico have a DGW in round 1 and a blank in round 2.
Akinfeev
Evra – Barzagli – Marcelo
Di Maria – Reus – Oscar – Guardado
Neymar (C) – Chicharito – Messi
Dominguez, Dzagoev – Srna – Manolas
Planning to do these transfers for round 2:
Chicha -> Ronaldo
Marcelo -> Alba
Guardado -> De Bruyne
Tek
Seems like a good plan.
