Well, England plus another seven 😉 Some surprises along the way mixed with some familiar names progressing sees us arrive at the quarter-final stage with everything to play for. Like any tournament the continued presence of the home nation is generally seen as a positive, except by Spain of course who have already departed for the more familiar surroundings of Costa Blanca. We have also waved goodbye to Messi and Ronaldo and a new superstar has been born in Mbappe.
Sadly we said farewell to the gallant Japanese but with England facing Sweden, expectations continue to reach epic proportions. It’s coming home. Isn’t it?! Ah c’mon, let us dream!
We have the next two days off until we reconvene on Friday, so plenty of time to think over plans and transfers. Is it time to play a Chip or have they been utilised/wasted already?!
From a fantasy point of view we have 3 free transfers for this round and we can now own a maximum of five players from any one team.

Just jealous really mate! Still at the young kids stage here so I’ll be watching it at home with them. Be a bit odd this one though because the eldest is taking his school sweepstake a bit too seriously – he got Sweden and has sworn allegiance to them! He said earlier ‘it’s me versus England and everyone is going to hate me when I win’ and laughed wickedly!

Lingard for Mbappe. He’s on 1. Guess it’s then just down to whether you’d want Cheryshev or Claesson playing. Apparently Cheryshev is pencilled back in for this one but who knows. If he was nailed I’d take him.
Thanks init, great advise. I will try to get some info about Cheryshev. I went 1-2 for Croatia but on a second thought that game could go 2-2 or even more. An all Eastern Europe clash is hard to predict. It will be a massive fight.
I checked this morning and all line-up google searches fancied he’d return especially with Zhirkov out. Dzagoev is back in contention again now though apparently. Just to muddy the waters further!
