Welcome to the Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 27. GW26 wasn’t one of our better weeks sadly, but every now and again we allow the Community Team their five minutes in the spotlight 😉 We scored just 48 points, three above the average but a red arrow followed as we slipped to 52,554. Our two transfers of Jakupovic and Mane contributed 6pts between them and it was only that high as we capo’d Mane. We only played with 10 as Andy Carroll didn’t play and neither did Matt Phillips or that idiot Amat from the bench. Yeah overall pretty depressing, I’m walking off the ledge just writing this. Thank the Lord, no not Pardew, for Seamus Coleman, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Kyle Walker – they scored 37 of our points. As punishment we took the squad to La Managa for a training camp this week as we’ve seen how well teams respond to this :winktongue:

Transfer(s) for GW27 – We have sold Defoe and Alli and bought Aguero and Sterling:
Two popular moves which need little explanation. City’s DGW is clearly the draw here and if you can’t take a hit for a DGW then when can you?! Selling Alli is a shame but someone had to take one for the team and young Alli is our sacrifical lamb. Aguero is about as obvious a transfer as you can get with the form he is in, while Sterling was also unanimous with the likes of Sane, KdB or Silva not even mentioned. These two transfers don’t improve our number for the reduced week that is GW28 but we can address that to some extent next week.

Team in full –

Captain: We have voted to TRIPLE CAPTAIN AGUERO
It has been a strange season for Aguero – two red cards, an apparent fall out with Pep and the resurrection (forgive us) of Jesus all played a part in the striker losing his starting spot. Jesus was seen as the man who could perfectly carry out Pep’s preferred role as a “hard working striker” and he started great before picking up an injury at Bournemouth. So Aguero gets a reprieve and four goals in two matches suggests the Kun of old is back. Even Pep is impressed, this is what the manager said after City’s win over Huddersfield: “It’s the best performance I’ve ever seen from Sergio”. He scored two goals and created a lot of chances. When he plays at that level, he’s unstoppable. We are so happy with how he played today”. Praise indeed.

The vote to use our Triple Captain chip on Aguero this week was not unanimous, but was clear enough. Matches vs Sunderland and Stoke for an attacking team is about as good as it gets and with City having scored nine goals in their previous two matches, it would appear that the attacking prowess that was so evident earlier in the season has returned. Aguero has superb recent records vs both clubs – five goals in four matches vs Sunderland and five in three vs Stoke. The alternative of course is to wait for something better, which ultimately may not arrive. The big DGW will be in GW37 and we will use our Bench Boost that week. We could end up not being happy with the alternatives and ending up TC’ing someone in GW38! Or worse still lumping it on Andy Carroll – and we saw how that worked out for many last season!

Are we expecting 180mins from Aguero? No, of course not. Iheanacho came on for Aguero vs Huddersfield and scored so he will definitely take some game time away from Sergio but we are confident (hopeful) that Pep will continue to start Aguero in both league matches.

So balls out it is on Kun.

Brought in Kun for Costa. Hope it works out for all of us. Would it be worth a hit to bring in Gabbi for Origi?

Too risky to bring in Aguero so soon let alone triple captain him. For all we know iheanacho could start or Aguero could blank. £12.7 for a player that has very little points compared to cheap forwards like Defoe no thanks.

Howveer Sterling is in fine form and always plays a part in City’s goals so I have bought in him and stones to capitalise on the double gsmeweek as well as captured Sterling. For £7.8 he’s great value.

Typos aside, captained not captured Sterling…

      • Waxys,

Can’t see where the risk comes from. He scored two against Monaco and assisted one and he scored two against Huddersfield and assisted one so the form is as much with him as it is Sterling.

And with the fixtures in the DGW being very kind indeed, I can see huge numbers going with him and I’m certain 99% of those will TC him.

Waxy’s, Aguero is going to start both the games. City is still 11 points behind the leader..do you think that Pep can rest his in-form forward in these circumstances, let alone Aguero. He was very impressed by his display against Huds. Even if he blanks in both the games, I’d still not hide behind the couch when he plays. Moreover, he was raising at almost 10% per hour last time i checked. This shows how eager ROTW to get him in. You should be too. smile cheers

    Site Team,

All very sensible and logical there and I have done the exact same (Sterling in – already had Aguero – the TC will be going on him).

Did the Community Team outscore you guys last week? I hadn’t noticed :winktongue:

    (others are irrelevant)

Phillips & Antonio have complicated my life…

    1) Plan was to do Costa to Kun for a straight swap as I have the exact amount of $ to do it.
Now, if I do that – I ll have only 10 players (Phillips is out ; Antonio is not available for selection this GW)
    2) I can do Phillips to Sterling for a straight swap and have 11 players, but that means no Kun !!

Now it seems almost impossible to have both Sterling & Kun w/out a -8 and ruining the team for GW 28

    So, yeah…that’s pretty much it…

So I think that getting sterling and kun is a great idea. Help me out guys. I can either remove mane and Ibra, mane and Costa, or eriksen and ibra, or I can bring sane instead of sterling and remove eriksen and Costa. Plz advice!

      Rohan

Because Liverpool play in GW28 when many other teams don’t, I would leave Mane in if you can. Aguero and Sane in for Eriksen and Costa sound a fair move considering the double game week.

      constantine says:

Rohan, I’ll not lose Mane as he plays in Gw28. I myself have held him. Be patient with him. he’s in a cracking form and will give you returns. I’ll suggest Eriksen and Costa out for Aguero and Sane..I know that Sterling transfer looks more appealing, but, atleast this way you have 2 dgw players in the team.
