Live Match Chat FA Cup Special FPL News

Welcome to Live Match Chat FA Cup Special FPL News. This weekend sees the 5th round ties for the FA Cup, meaning that it is a FPL-free weekend. However, FPL-free does not signify FPL-irrelevant far from it. If you scan through the fixtures listed below you will see eight Premier League teams are left in the competition and bizarrely all eight have been kept apart in the draw. Now a closer scan of those fixtures will show that all eight top tier teams are firm favourites to win their tie – possibly Leicester being the less obvious. We have banged on about GW28 for weeks now – and this is when we get to find out exactly how disrupted GW28 will be as that is when the 6th round of the FA Cup will be played. At present only three fixtures are guaranteed for GW28 and if results go as expected in the Cup, then those three fixtures will be our sole game-week interest.
Therefore, keep a close eye on this weekend’s games to see how GW28 will pan out and also to keep an eye on potential transfers and injuries etc.
We talk about about things going as expected, but of course life doesn’t always turn out like that does it? Look at Brexit, President Trump, Arsenal losing to Bayern in the round of 16…….
….the FA Cup really can produce some upsets and maybe, just maybe some Premier League teams may get beaten by lower level opposition. Who would ever have predicted lowly Bournemouth humbling holders Man Utd in 1984, reigning league champions Arsenal losing to Wrexham who were bottom of the the old fourth division in 1992, non-league Sutton knocking out Coventry in 1989, Ronnie Radford’s famous goal leading Hereford to upsetting Newcastle or indeed Wimbledon beating the then mighty Liverpool on the biggest stage of all at Wembley in 1988?
See below this weekend’s fixtures and to the right of each fixture the GW28 match which is at risk if the Premier League team win this weekend.
FPL carnage! Love it.

    I read something on Twitter that United or Arsenal could still reschedule their game with Southampton for midweek following GW26 and avoid blank.

    I wonder how likely would.that be with logistics, safety and other related issues. my guess it would be unlikely but who knows.

    Thing is that currently only gw34 and 37 have space for postponed games and if any of United, Arsenal or City get to at least semifinal of FA cup they will need to reschedule 3 games. this might made them proactive and try to fit something in week 26.

    On the Sanchez/Mane/Hazard issue, here are three scenarios I’m wrestling with:
    1. Stick with Sanchez:
    -No hit. I’d have Stanislas (wba) for 26, Sanchez (liv) for 27, not sure on 28
    2. Sanchez -> Mane
    -Cost me -4. I’d have Mane for 26 (lei), 27 (ARS), and 28 (BUR)
    3. Sanchez -> Hazard
    -Cost me -4. I’d have Haz for 26 (SWA) and 27 (whu) and in 28 either Stanislas (WHU) or a replacement for him.
    Which one wins?

        Pancho, dont think Stanislas is a sure starter now. Won’t consider him as a back-up for now. I’d myself gone with Mane for Sanchez inspite of having lost about 0.7m on him as I had him since GW1. Net loss is of 0.4m, but, given that Mane’s price would increase atleast 0.5m till GW28, that price increase could cost me more. On the top of that, he faces Leicester next week. He might even score a hatty against them and is a serious captain contender. So, in your case, i might as well take a hit and go for option two.

    Hi everyone.
    Here is my team, I have 1FT and 1.3 ITB. Here are the main possibilities I see.
    1- Sanchez –> Mane
    2- Sanchez –>Hazard
    3- Ibra –> Costa
    4- Kingsley/Ake –> Baines/Alonso
    In other words, should I take Mane as he has the best next three games, probably? Should I fix my defense? Or is the priority to get Chelsea cover, despite their GW blank?
    I could consider a hit, especially since I would get a lot of money ITB if I get rid of SanchezThanks for your opinion!

    Morning guys, currently have 7 players playing in GW28 but I want atleast 10. Currently thinking of doing Jones to Rannnochia this week and playing 5-4-1 this weekend, decent move?
