Hi PP, you look like you’ve got 6 DGW players there which is 9 without a hit come 34 if you go that way. How does that weigh up against your ML leader?

      • PeterPan says:

        Innit,
        He currently also has 6

Sorry, read the original post again and, yeah, you’re looking good. As previously mentioned on here, DGW players aren’t the be all and end all – Kane’s score today for example will outscore a good few DGW scores in a few weeks’ time.

          Swirly,
I get that… but we in the same boat 7 GW’s left and 4 chips must be used in them
To get the combo right is tricky and I have no idea what to do so Im all ears

        • theswirly says:

If you can get up to nine players for GW34, why don’t you use the TC chip then, the wildcard in GW37, the AOA for GW35 as there won’t be many decent defenders to choose between and the BB for one of the other GWs?

If it helps, I’m currently thinking of WC and BB in GW34, AOA I’m GW35 and then TV in GW37. That’s a rough plan, with the only thing nearest to certainty being the WC in GW34. If injuries are bad, however, that could be brought forward to GW33. Either way, it’s a huge couple of weeks for Swirly FC – got a fair few points to make up and so every transfer and decision I make now is going to take even more thinking and research than normal!

I’ve come to the conclusion that I can’t win my mini league. I’m currently 4th and 68 points off the top. I’m going to be using my WC in 33 and BB in 34. Given their chips I expect the top guy to WC in 33 and TC in 34, the second will push to get close to 11 DGW players as he has nothing left and the third will fill Sub in 11 DGW players and hit BB. In theory I have a tactical advantage but I don’t think it will work in practice. Filling my team with 15 DGW players will be hit and miss as I’m sure to pick some players who’ll either get 2×2 or will get rotated. When using the TC I think you are just vas likely to pick a Sergio v Man U as you do a Kane v Bournemouth.
My thoughts at present are that I’ll maybe take 11 DGW players and bench boost and hopefully having retained some of my spurs and Leicester players will not see me going into the final games with a team full of players I would never normally pick… If only I had capped Kane this weekend and not benched Vardy and my thinking would probably be a lot more positive today!

Rosco77: that is as ‘surrender monkey attitude’ as i’ve seen. 68 points divided by the remaining 7 games is roughly 10 points every game that you need to catch up on. And, if you still have your WC, BB and TC chips left, there’s a really good chance that you can beat him comfortably, come the end of the season. Don’t worry abut the 2nd and 3rd in between. Your strategy to push for 11 DGW players, use your TC, then use the WC and the BB in GW36 and 37 is the best option. I am definitely going that way now. There are few players you need to retain – Mahrez and Alli being two of those simply because of form and value built up; Kane is also looking strong although Im rid of him now. You really don’t have to field 15 DGW players you know? As someone in this forum pointed out, guys like Kane, Mahrez and even Aguero (altho he has been a pain in the ass lately) can easily outscore them. Good Luck

yeah it as a little bit..appologies.. lack of sleep and pre-coffee!!
I only have 4 DGW players so I’m going to have to go down the WC 33 route. Im thinking of bringing in 11 DGW players and retaining 4 key players, I’m essentially going to plan a team that is a good team regardless of the DGW but look to get at least 11 DG’ers in just to cover my bases and BB in 34. If i then ensure i still have a decent side for 35 (with my 2 free transfers) Im then going to look at having say 9-10 DGW players in place for 37 when I’ll also TC. I think that some people will pick 15 DGW players and do amazing with them, but i think the chances of picking 15 players who will all perform and get 2 games is too difficult and will in essence leave you with a squad that is ill equipped for the games that follow.
This is my current thinking, it may change! What is certain is I’m Wildcarding in 33 and i’ve just got to hope that I can make up those points! At the minute we’re all making similar points week to week so fingers crossed my patience with the chips and 2nd WC will pay off! They have 1 WC 1 BB AND 1TC between 3 of them…and i have them all … surely ..surely it can be done!!! come on!!!!! time for another coffee!!

Kinda fkd up this week by trying to play it different than my ML leader and captained Siggy and not Kane. I knew i should have went for Kane but since i was chasing i went ahead for Siggy. Now the gap has increased. havent bothered and counted it yet but more than 70 now. I guess if i had played it safe i would have gone up in overall rank with my leader but the gap would be the same. Dont know how to beat this guy who now 3k overall and has his wc and chips just like me.
