Fantasy Football Banterbury Leagues

Banterbury Leagues Round Up Gameweek 11

The Banterbury H2H Leagues are now in their second season and were originally formed to give a few of us seasoned FF managers a real challenge, and what started of as one H2H league soon turned into 4 leagues, due to its popularity.

Based on the English league format we now have a Premier League, Championship, League 1, & League 2 with promotion & relegation (3 up, 3 down) with a knockout Cup run every 5 gameweeks. I also added a new competition this year “The Banterbury Shield” (where the top 4 teams in each league at Christmas qualify for a 2nd half of the season Champions League type format).

At the start of this season I had so many managers wanting to enter the leagues that we had to open a Qualification League with the top 3 teams at the end of the season earning a invite into the H2H Leagues for the next season.

Premier

Cookie’s Monsters remain top after a minor slip last week & has now won 9 from 11 games this season as he put one over his old mate The Mutts Nuts, who remains in the bottom 3. Next up for Cookie is bottom of the table Killer Instincts who recorded their first victory in 11 attempts against Pork n Cheese United. There was plenty of shuffling going on in the chasing pack, as all the teams are trying to secure a top four place come Christmas and a place in the shield in the New Year. Eddy Hitler XI beat Where’s The Dosh? (TCB) 61-57 meaning Eddy stays 7th but has put a 4pts gap between him and 8th place Gasco’s Athletic, while TCB drops to 3rd. Bocadillo Allstars stays 4th with a win over TheKopKnightRISES keeping them in the relegation places. Arsene’s Boys move up to 5th and meet Bocadillo Allstars next. Bench drops a place to 6th despite having the luckiest win of this gameweek with the 2nd lowest score of just 22 – he still managed to gain the 3 points in a 22-19 win over Prutsers; allemaal. Bench also has a massive game next game-week when he takes on Reubens Rioters who moved up to 2nd, with a 47-36 over Kojak’s Fireball. Meanwhile at the bottom, despite Killer’s win he stays bottom, although he closed the gap on the 6 teams above him who all fell to defeats. Elsewhere in the League there was a much needed win for Horse FC who have suffered a horrible few weeks and there were also wins for Rising Phoenix & I LOVES THE CAKE. Kop Warriors will be concerned with their recent form as they slide closer to the relegation zone.

Championship

There is a real scrap going on here for the 4 Shield places come the end of Gameweek 17 with just 3 points separating 1st to 7th. Last weeks 1st place team Shylass @ the finish got beat by a single point 61-62 by The Reds and drops out of the 4 qualifying places to 5th, with WhoIsRonaldo jumping to top spot and they will be looking for back to back promotions after finishing runners up in League 1 last term. There were wins for James 101, elleffcee & Gallowgators who make up the top 4 with Ronaldo, while also eyeing up the top 4 are one time leaders Real Morbid (6th) & One Under Parr(7th) who both won and sit on the same number of points (21) as 4th placed Gallowgators. At the bottom there was an epic win for The Gallant Pioneers, who climbed out of the relegation zone courtesy of a 72-70 victory over The Greatest FC. The bottom 3 are now Pathético Morbid(20th), Red Magic(19th), who both lost, and Balotellibubbies who climbed a place but remain in peril in 18th. Mito needs to start to look over his shoulder as he moves dangerously close to the drop zone, having lost the big clash with Gallowgators.

League 1

The top 4 remain the same after all recorded wins. Powerful Potty Fc is still 7 points clear at the top with we love manchester (2nd) CFC*Awesome (3rd) & Monty *Caz Daz (4th). Meanwhile Bodene’s Army are flying up the table to 5th with 5 wins and a draw from their last 6 games and remain the only team in the league to have stopped Potty winning so far this season. inittowinit*** continues to be hanging around the 6th to 8th place but dont be surprised if he makes the top 4 come Christmas as his form appears to be gaining momentum. There where wins for BRYAN MUNICH FC, Fergie’s Henchmen & Nosgoth moving them all into mid-table, At the bottom IFM PaLmeRo won but stay in the bottom 3 while Nifty’s Hotshots have lost their last 8 games and are only propped up by The SpecialOne who have lost 9 out of their last 10. A special mention to our Aussie friend Deano (DavesRedDevils) who had a shocker, scoring just 14 points in his defeat to Fergie’s Henchmen, who quite honestly could have beaten him by just playing his goalie and defenders!!

League 2

The top 4 in this League all remain the same despite the top two Norfulk-in-chance and White Boys Day both slipping to defeats. Wavey Squad (3rd) & E For Idiot(4th) will both be looking to keep their Shield Places. This is a very tight league indeed with 2nd to 11th split by just 3 points – wins for CR, Destined Champions, Bring on ze Trumpets, ALSED FC, Stokes FC & ChelseaFTW putting them all in the picture for those lucrative Shield places. Its just as tight at the bottom as a win forGunnersaurus moved them from second bottom up to 15th, but Prata’s mini revival ended and they remain rooted to the bottom after they suffered a loss to Owls Rule, lifting the Owls out of the relegation zone. Time to take a hit Prata my friend !! Joining Prata in the bottom 3 are Bryan Munich & destroyers, but with 3pt separating 6 teams a couple of wins on the bounce could lift any team into mid-table.

We also have a qualification league with the top 3 earning an invite into the Banterbury H2H Leagues for next season – this league table can be viewed here.

    Hi Fellow Banterbury’ers,
After running this idea past Bench in the early hours we have come up with this…
Why don’t we as Banterbury League managers ahead of one’s Matchweek preview their own h2h clash?
    Top idea eh?
No doubt Bench will respond to our posts?
So I will get the ball rolling.

This looming Mwk 12 see’s my Powerful Potty Fc (ranked 2,422nd in the world) host IFM PaLmeRo (ranked 1,423,681 in the world) at Procky’s Lane.
PaLmeRo’s current form over the past 4 gameweeks has seen them Win 3 and lose 1,compared to Powerful Pottys form of 4 straight wins over the same period.
Right here,Right now,i know I am up against a very tricky opponent .
PalmeRo’s frontline ahead of any transfer activity by them this week of Lukaku,Aguero and Suarez is a worry.
I believe my management skills will be enough to win me all 3 points and my backroom staff have been busy ahead of proceedings by dumping Barkley due to his lack of gametime and buying Kasami who showed great willingness to join Powerful Potty Fc.
My Captain for this Match will be Giroud.
IFM PaLmeRo you carry the hopes of many managers behind me as they all await my downfall.
Sadly this wont happen folks smile
    WoooHooooo
