The Boot Room – Rate My Team GW 27 – FPL Fantasy Football Premier League

Photo 02-01-2014 11 40 06As the dreaded GW28/29 doomsday scenario is unfolding before our eyes today we imagine you will have many question marks over certain players or transfers you are considering for GW27 as you try and also plan for the two weeks that follow it. Who hasn’t?! This is your opportunity to voice those concerns and get some feedback from fellow Fantasy Mangers. We welcome both your questions and also your advice to others. Please feel free, as ever, to post your thoughts, questions and feelings about whatever you want to but in particular if you would like others to take a look at your team ahead of GW27 and offer their opinions please post or link it below and we are sure you will get plenty of feedback. Some of which may actually be constructive, but we can’t promise anything! This weeks fixtures article will deal with the aforementioned GW28/29 scenario in full once we know how it looks in reality. Gulp!

    So guys. Yesterday I heard from Tekno I was screwed. I’d only have 7 playing in GW29 if this goes on. What do I have to do apart from wait? And what teams need to win today to ease my pain? This is my team:
    Mannone – Marshall
    Vlaar – Collins – Fonte – Bruce – Olsson
    Silva – Oscar – Mata – Sterling – Noone
    RvP – Suarez – Sturridge

      • Best scenario would be if the Gunners win tonight (3 Pool players would play and Fonte), don’t see Brighton beating Hull but maybe there is a miracle. Ack, it’s an f-ing nightmare. I hate this game. >.<

        • I’ve thought Liverpool didn’t play in GW 29 because Sunderland beat Southampton yesterday ..?

        • There is a possibility that the following games could still remain in gw29.
          would depend on tv rights, policing etc. This is my understanding of it.

          Cardiff City Vs Fulham

          Crystal Palace Vs Southampton

          West Ham Vs Hull

          Newcastle Vs Everton

          Liverpool Vs Sunderland

          The UEFA dislikes having league matches at the same time as CL matches. I wouldn’t expect any of the postponed matches to be played midweek GW 29.

        • Teckno, I appreciate what your saying mate and tend to agree. But……there is still a slight chance they could be played on 11th/12th. We need one of the decision makers at UEFA to be in the sh#t with his fpl team and no wildcard available! smile

          Yeah there’s still a chance, I’m just saying it’s unlikely, but not impossible. I could of course be wrong.

        • I was actually reading up on this the other day and the EPL is the only European domestic league to not sign up to the EMU (I think that’s what it’s called) agreement which does mean it is still possible for EPL games to take place on CL nights. However I think that these would have to be under special circumstances and there is no way I feel that they’ll allow 5 games to be played on the European night. we’re far more likely to have them played possibly when the FA cup replays are supposed to be played.

      Players with a potential blank (if Hull beats Brighton tomorrow):
      Bruce and Collins

      Liverpool will have a blank independent of their result against Arsenal because they play Sunderland, who beat Southampton in the FA Cup yesterday. Soton plays Palace in GW 29, both teams are out of the FA Cup so that match will be played as normal.

      • So regardless, I’m doomed and must make at least 3 transfers, lol. >.<

  2. I’d normally say the mighty swans are back in it but with Garry Monk’s weakened team today it’s now the half mighty Swans. Come on Swansea.

    Traore got his first for Everton but it’s now 1 – 1.

    In a panic over Gwks 28-29

    Team;
    Boruc / Davies
    Coleman / Azpil / Collins / Olssen / Marriappa /
    Hazard /,Silva / Yaya / Lallana / Sterling /
    Sturridge / Suarez / Adebayor /

    So Gwk 28 I’ll lose…silva & Yaya no problem.
    But after reading Teckno’s dooms day scenario earlier
    potentially I’ll be without the following in Gwk 29..
    Coleman
    Collins
    Silva
    Yaya
    Sterling
    Sturridge
    Suarez
    How does a 3-2-1 formation sound…lol
