Whether your arrows were a happy green or a more depressing red, we get to sit on our thumbs for a while as the internationals take precedence. We get to sit back, relax and enjoy watching our valuable FPL assets get flogged to death in meaningless qualifiers and even more meaningless friendlies having flown half way around the world for the pleasure. Now what could possibly go wrong?! However, there is plenty to think about and plan for. We will be back with the usual raft of articles next week ahead of GW8 but in the meantime we encourage you to plan ahead and post your teams and questions in the chat below. You can either go old school and type it out or you can post a picture of it along with the issues or transfers which you are pondering. Either way you are sure to get plenty of answers from our great community. As usual though if you don’t have any pressing team issues you can simply post your thoughts and feelings on any subject you wish. Within reason anyway!

Guys, what do you think of Rashford..Will he start against Pool?

I’m not sure to be honest. Mourinho usually packs his team out with experience for games against the big rivals but that is offset by the fact that Rashford appears to be the best in form just now and offers a spark which others don’t always do.
If I had him, I’d keep him, I’m not sure I would buy him right now.

A question to all the veterans of the game. When you set up a team for a game week do you a points target in mind? Or do you have a target for end of the season in mind?

61 is always my target. 61.39 to be exact. Seriously. Long story!
My target is always top 10k. That often gets downgraded as the weeks progress though! Last season I was simply hoping not be relegated
That seems to be the ideal score init. In my last couple of seasons have averaged about 54 to finish 500k and 391k. So this year I am targeting 2200 as end of season score. So I am happy if my game week score is 58 or more. Keeping a target deters me from taking hits.
2200 to 2300 should see you comfortably into the top 100k which is a decent rank. Overall point scores vary of course. My best ranked season is only actually my 3rd highest score, as an example.
Taking hits is a different convo altogether. Do it right and it can pay off but it always feels like gambling to me, I prefer to limit them to simply to necessity in terms of injuries and suspensions or when it’s for a must have player. I’ve taken one this week but it involved Sanchez so I see that as acceptable. Although it may end up not being a hit yet judging by the answers to my RMT question earlier!

For the overall rank, better than my previous best would do my each and every season.
I personally aim to do better as the seasons go by; target this year is top 10k 😉
What to do with this lot? Already used 1 ft for Ozil to Coutinho.

1ft & 1.6m itb. Thinking of fixing the defence first but want to get in Sanchez too.
I’m kind of agreed with Init… but what’s done is done.. I wouldn’t do anything much.. Unless you want to ship Ibra then i’d sit on that transfer and hope for the best..
I also agree with innit. I’d save your transfer so you have 2 next week and then sort out your defence. Unfortunately you could have made some great changes if you still had 2 transfers.

Ok mate, got the answer above. Depends what your Sanchez plan is really then as to whether to sit and hold and maybe do that in one next week. Ideally you could have done Ibra to someone like Deeney and Antonio to him this week but que sera, sera, it’s done. If there’s no need for the excess cash then maybe Shaw to an Arsenal defender this week wouldn’t be the worst idea.

What would you guys do with this lot? i am tempted to get in a stoke defender along with arnautovic. Do you think it is too much stoke? Sanchez in place of ozil also but dont want to do it this week as i think he will do a cameo the last 20 minutes.

Priority for me would be to get rid of one of your Swansea players. Probably Kingsley. You could look at a Watford defender.

thanks for the advice. The point is i will be playing with 3 defenders most of the time and spending more than 4M on the fourth and fifth defender really annoys me. Do you think the fourth defender should at least be a 4.5M?
BTW 1.2 Mil is the Money ITB and not TV.

It’s because I think the rest looks OK that I think you could concentrate on strengthening your choices in defence.
Remember it is a squad game and sooner or later you’ll need a reasonable fourth decent choice in defence I think.

Son + Deeney and play AOA? Personally wouldn’t take a hit to bring in a defender but hey if you happen to get a bloody (undeserved) CS and goal like Kos did then it would sort you out well ;P

Depends on your personal choice on whether you ride out the Ibrahimovic one. Plenty are but probably more are dropping. I think I’ll keep him.
Those are good moves if you do choose to get rid.

Get Pool coverage ASAP! I’d bin Bolasie and get Firmino/Coutinho/Mane and play AOA this week. In the long run, I wouldn’t start Capoue
