Team Talk Fantasy Football GW4

Team Talk Fantasy Football GW4 Finally, GW4 is here, thank the Lord or whoever one thanks in this situation. Wildcard talk is soooo yesterday and we can all move onto counting our riches as our players prove us right in including them….or sadly wrong for neglecting them. It’s a 3-day gameweek, a treat for us deserving and long-suffering managers who have spent the last fortnight worrying how our players will fare on international duty, contemplating how all the new signings will impact on the current starters and trying to second guess a Diego Costa & Jose Mourinho hamstring report. We start Saturday lunchtime down at the Emirates as the Gooners entertain Man City – a game which promises goals and entertainment. Cue the drab 1-1 draw. Six 3pm matches follow as Chelsea...[Read More]

Team Talk Fantasy Football – GW3

Team Talk Fantasy Football – GW3 2014/15 GW3 is upon us and there’s plenty to look forward to. Mad Mario is set to be unleashed on Spurs, Angel Di Maria looks to make his United debut, Samuel Eto’o has turned up at Goodison, while Michael Dawson has left Spurs for Hull. The injury to Diego Costa has rocked 42.2% of FPL teams, while the return of goal machine Sergio Aguero gathers pace. Oh and happy-go-lucky Neil Warnock makes a Premier League reappearance as he’s given another go at Crystal Palace where the fireworks between him and Jason Puncheon will make Mario’s best Guy Fawkes impersonation pale into insignificance. Our gameweek begins with the derby between struggling Burnley and struggling United and then we have five 3pm kick offs as City host Stoke, Ne...[Read More]

Team Talk Fantasy Football Gameweek 1

Team Talk Fantasy Football Gameweek 1 Well, finally it’s here. After weeks of creating, tinkering, reassessing, trying different formations, discussing different ideas,  GW1 has arrived. We look forward to a fun season of FPL, with some exciting new additions to the Barclays Premier League. In comes Louis van Gaal at Man United, Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa at Chelsesa and Alexis Sanchez down at the Emirates. We welcome Leicester, Burnley and ‘Arry’s QPR back to the top flight. We look forward to seeing the magic disappearing spray, but reports that Jack Wilshire and Andy Carroll have ordered extra supplies have not been confirmed. We greet the emergence of the new club, Scousehampton. We’ve seen Mauricio Pochettino change clubs moving from the South Coast to Spurs...[Read More]

Team Talk Game-week 38 The Crying Game

Team Talk Game-week 38 The Crying Game – FPL Fantasy Football Premier League Well, this is it folks – GW38 – the last game-week of the season. And what a season it’s been, what a week it’s been!! We’ve had the most topsy turvy of a DGW37, which was rescued for some by Yaya and Dzeko and ruined for others by Mata, Aguero and Rooney. We’ve seen Cardiff and Fulham relegated with Norwich joining them unless they demolish Arsenal 17-0. We’ve had Villa, West Brom and Hull do just enough to survive, while Sunderland have made the mother of all comebacks. West Ham beat Tottenham….again! Norwich parked their bus at the Stamford Bridge bus garage. RvP returned. But nothing as dramatic as events at Selhurst Park on Monday evening as Palace came back from 3-0 down to draw with Liverpool, further...[Read More]

Team Talk Game-week 37

Team Talk Game-week 37- FPL Fantasy Football Premier League Welcome to DGW37 and the one last chance to make a big gamble in your mini league with six teams playing twice and our game-week is not completed until Wednesday evening, leaving just a quick turnaround to GW38. With so much still to play for at the top and the bottom of the division, it promises to be a week of excitement, thrills, highs and lows and hopefully a massive haul of points for us all. Our game-week kicks off Saturday lunchtime down the east end mate, as the ‘Ammers entertain Spurs – always lively as they hate each other but maybe too early for that much excitement as the pubs will not have been open that long, unfortunately. We then have five 3pm matches as Aston Villa entertain Hull, Man Utd welcome Sunderland, Cardi...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Team Talk Game-week 36

Fantasy Football Team Talk Game-week 36 – FPL Premier League Welcome to GW36 and what a week it’s been. Liverpool march closer to the title, The Special One loses his first ever league game at the Bridge as Sunderland’s late late escape act gathers pace, Newcastle’s holiday goes into its fifth week, West Ham are booed off again, Ramsey’s Return looks like Arsenal will nick 4th, David Silva gets injured again and of course, dear old Moysie has gone. We’ll cover all the above in the article, but let’s have a sneak preview of what is in store for us this week.

Team Talk Game-week 35

Team Talk Game-week 35 – FPL Fantasy Football Premier League Welcome to GW35, upon us so soon and just about giving us time to get our breath back from a chaotic, dramatic and for some, disappointing DGW34. It seems so much has happened since we last chatted. Liverpool make huge strides towards what we will be an emotional league title, The Special One continues to plan his smash and grab project and City look to have thrown in the towel. Away from the top, Arsenal hold pole position in the race for fourth, Penfold is turning into Steve McQueen as Fulham’s great escape is gathering pace, there has been alleged bullying behind the scenes at Villa Park, across the city, West Brom striker Saido Berahino has been caught inhaling “hippy crack”, spying allegations at Cardiff, Tony Pulis ma...[Read More]

Team Talk Game-week 34

This weekend marks the closest weekend to the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, when of course 96 Liverpool fans lost their lives on that fateful day in Sheffield in 1989. It was a tragedy that struck the hearts of not just the city of Liverpool, but football fans the world over and served to remind us that football is just a game. There will be numerous remembrances over the course of the week and as a poignant reminder, a minute’s silence will be held before each match and kick-offs this weekend will be delayed by seven minutes. It will, of course, be felt most at Anfield when Liverpool entertain Man City on Sunday. As our mark of respect, we’d like you to view the images below and just take some time to remember those that lost their lives that day, think of the families an...[Read More]

Team Talk Game-week 33

Team Talk Game-week 33 – FPL Fantasy Football Premier League Well, as expected GW32 wasn’t up to much – well for many of us anyway. It was a course a game-week not without incident – from the plane protest at Old Trafford, to Palace shocking Chelsea, the Cardiff comeback at West Brom, Arsenal not conceding ten to a team above them and Liverpool’s title charge gathering momentum. So let’s see if we can make a better fist of GW33 – it of course the game-week before DGW34 so many of your transfers will be in readiness for that. Our game-week starts Saturday lunchtime as City welcome Southampton to the Etihad. We then have five 3pm kick offs as Aston Villa can take a huge step to survival by beating bottom club Fulham, Cardiff will need to defeat Palace if they are to make ground on thei...[Read More]

Team Talk Gameweek 32

Team Talk Gameweek 32 – FPL Fantasy Football Premier League Welcome to GW32 and after the fun and games of DGW31, its back to normality with just a single round of fixtures. No scores of 200pts this week me thinks. But this of course, is the bread and butter of our game, not that nonsensical free-for-all we were subjected to last week. And where better to kick off than at Old Trafford, the Theatre of Dreams – or as it now more commonly known as, The Theatre of Screams, if you’re David Moyes. Villa are this week’s grateful recipients of anything United can give them, which will probably constitute a couple of goals and three points. We then have five 3pm kick-offs as Crystal Palace host league leaders Chelsea, Newcastle take the long trip down to Southampton, Stoke welcome Hull to the...[Read More]

Team Talk Game-week 31

Team Talk Game-week 31 – FPL Fantasy Football Premier League Well, here we are – Fantasy Christmas Day has arrived, the waiting is over, the preparations are almost complete and we all look forward to the highest scoring FPL game-week ever! Well, let’s hope we’re not disappointed and we all get to celebrate a monster week, although to be fair I thought that last week and it all went pear-shaped. This is the week to cash in those hard-earned brownie points as its Fixturelicious with fifteen matches, ten DGW teams and frankly, no time for DIY, dog walking, baby-sitting or dinner parties, so warn your nearest and dearest right now. Our game-week kicks off Saturday lunchtime with a rip-snorter of a London derby as Chelsea welcome Arsenal to the Bridge. Then onto 3pm as Liverpool go to Ca...[Read More]

Team Talk Gameweek 30

Team Talk Gameweek 30 After the relative quiet of last week, welcome to GW30 and a full set of fixtures to contemplate, plan for and take full advantage of. It’s a game-week where we can observe how midweek European exits have affected both Arsenal and Man City as they refocus back onto the Premier League. It’s a game-week that promises more doom and unemployment fears for Chris Hughton and Pepe Mel. It’s a game-week that will see Alan Pardew wandering around the streets of Fulham aimlessly looking for someone to head-butt. And just when you thought I wasn’t going to mention my old mate, it’s a game-week when dear old Davie Moyes gets a chance to finally endear himself to the Old Trafford faithful as the old enemy comes into town. Yeah, unlikely I know. Well, all the fun starts at lunchtim...[Read More]
