Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 11 Could’ve been better, could’ve been worse just about sums up our performance in GW10. We ended the game-week on 57 points which was 11 above the average. The accolade of weekly top scorer was shared between Tim Krul and Sergio Aguero, both of whom managed just 8 points. Our total of 57 points really was underpinned by our defence with Krul (8), Alderweireld (6), Baines (7), and Taylor who climbed off our bench also chipping in with 6 points, meaning the four of those accounted for 27 points. Moving onto our midfield and the ever dependable Cesc Fabregas pitched in with 6 points thanks to yet another assist and a solitary bonus point. Our remaining midfielders were a disappointment with Di Maria, Siggy & Tadic amassing a combined total of just 7 p...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 10 From the sublime to the ridiculous in just one gameweek – 105pts in GW8 became just 45pts in GW9. Average at best, could of been worse we guess, but disappointing nonetheless. The average score was only 38pts so maybe we are being harsh on ourselves. Our top scorer was the ever dependable Baines, who’s assist and 2bps compensated somewhat for the lack of a clean sheet. We did have clean sheets from Alderweireld and Taylor, while Fabregas assisted to also contribute 6pts. Our captain Aguero missed a few simple chances and arguably could of been sent off in City’s loss at West Ham, while Siggy was looking good for a half decent score until his manager transferred him out on 57mins as a precaution. Last week’s transfer, Pelle ass...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 9 Where do we begin ?!! GW8 was just one of those game-weeks that doesn’t come around very often, where nearly everything we touched turned into points. A final score of 105pts was way beyond our wildest dreams. It all started at lunchtime on Saturday when Sergio Aguero led the Spurs defence a merry dance as he scored four goals earning us 19pts in the process – it could have been even more had he not missed a penalty. We put the penalty miss behind us and moved onto the 3pm kick-offs. As you will remember, last week we brought in Leighton Baines & Dusan Tadic. We’re still thankful that Sadio Mane did not arrive back on the south coast from international duty until Thursday as this led us to getting Tadic over the Sengalese man and we certainl...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 8 It seems an age away now, but GW7 was a pretty good gameweek for the FF247 team. We managed to beat the average score again, amassing 62pts vs an average of 51pts. Our score was very much built around the performance of our midfield and strikers, which in all honesty was the same for a great many fantasy managers this week. Firstly captain Aguero notched his 5th goal in seven games this season, scoring the 2nd of City’s goals at Villa, although he had us nervous for most of the match! A bonus point just made it sweeter, meaning a 14pt return. Other decent returns on that Saturday were Siggy’s two assists vs Newcastle and Sterling’s assist for Liverpool’s winner home to West Brom. Taylor and Moore disappointed in defence, but c&...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 5 GW4 went pretty well for us as we scored 64pts, 12pts above the average. Bearing in mind we captained the benched Raheem Sterling, who’s 30min cameo produced just 2pts for us, we were relatively happy, if somewhat annoyed with Brendan Rodgers! Our main performers were Fabregas, Costa and Di Maria late on in the gameweek, while Aguero chipped in with a goal and Alderweireld grabbed us a clean sheet on his debut. Poor returns from Mannone, Moreno, Wilson, Siggy and Welbeck were disappointing, but everyone has players with low scoring weeks and are part and parcel of the game, so no need to panic on those ones and we look forward to GW5 with confidence and excitement.
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 4 WILDCARD! Ok, so errrm, well, how do we put this, we have a small confession to make! We are on a WILDCARD! It wasn’t planned and it took us a bit by surprise to be honest but when we settled down around the boardroom table and took a look at our squad, or rather what was left of it after the international break had done it’s worst, there was a unanimous verdict and only one answer. And so ensued the usual mayhem. You think it’s difficult wrestling with yourself on these matters, but when it’s a committee decision it can get funny, ugly and surreal all in the space of a short hour. Anyway we are pleased to say that the majority of people came out alive. Some scarred for life, more mentally than physically we hope. We await the ...[Read More]
Finalised Fantasy Football 247 FPL Team – GW3 We pre-released our team on Wednesday evening, suggesting that we were just going to make one change. However, as you know, rumours of a hamstring injury to Chelsea striker Diego Costa were beginning to surface, hence we needed to wait for today’s press conferences to clarify the situation with him and indeed everyone in our squad after a busy week of Champions League, Capital One Cup and Europa League action. Jose Mourinho confirmed that Costa is “a big doubt” for the game vs Everton and hence we have decided to sell him, despite the injury not believed to be as serious as first thought. We could have benched him, but we have decided instead to buy Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge. This is a move not just for GW3 but ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football 247 FPL Team – GW3 GW2 Review It’s fair to say that GW2 was certainly a case of leaving it late. Our final score of 62pts was significantly higher than the average of 44pts and helped lift the team to 34,135 in the world. But for most of the weekend it looked like we were going to see a depressing red arrow as our defence disappointed as others around us made ground. Our skipper Diego Costa delivered his goal vs Leicester, though in all fairness we were hoping for at least a brace from him. So, 12pts from him, 6pts from Cesc Fabregas and 5pts from Gylfi Sigurdsson was a decent start, but Palace’s shocker at home to the Hammers saw Joel Ward gain just a single point. The evening match was mixed, Calum Chambers conceded two, picked up a yellow card and fail...[Read More]
Fantasy Football 247 FPL Team – GW2 GW1 for the FF247 team resulted in a solid, but not spectacular 66pts. The highlights were certainly in the midfield where Ramsey, Fabregas and Sigurdsson all contributed double-figure returns, while two of our strikers, Rooney and Costa both scored – Rooney as captain doubled his tally to 14pts. There were a few disappointments also – United’s shocking home loss meant just 3pts combined from De Gea and Mata, while Chambers and Caulker, who we were hoping for clean sheets from, let us down by both conceding at home to Palace and Hull, respectively. Our third striker Jovetic brought home just 2pts and is a concern, especially with Aguero making a late impact as a goal scoring substitute. Fortunately, we weren’t left frustrated with points on the ben...[Read More]
Fantasy Football 247 Team – Fantasy Premier League 2014/15 FF247 has finalised its selection for its squad this season. It was a long, heated meeting, full of opinion, argument, reasoning, debate, flirting, roast potatoes and furry hand cuffs. Yes it all went on, but finally the squad was chosen, difficult decisions were made, some top top players were left out, but as you all have found, we can’t choose everyone we wanted and sacrifices had to be made in all positions. The squad has changed quite drastically since our initial announcement a fortnight ago, as we’re sure yours has too. We have been able to see the club’s preseason friendlies, who is in form, who has nailed a starting berth and who has received favourable comments from their manager. We hope that, above all, our insigh...[Read More]
Fantasy Football 247 team – Fantasy Premier League 2014/15 We are delighted to announce that FF247 will be running a site team this year, which will be competing in the FF247 Classic and Manager of the Month Leagues as well as taking its bow in the Banterbury Leagues. The main objective of the team however is to give you all an insight into our thinking and planning, which we hope will not only help you with your teams but also prompt plenty of debate, banter and advice along the way. Clearly with over a fortnight still to go until the season kicks off, plenty can still happen with any of the players we have selected – injuries, new transfers in or out, hell we may even have the odd bite to contend with! Therefore please treat this very much as a provisional squad for now and allow u...[Read More]
