Fantasy Football Inside The Mind Of An FPL Player Gameweek 12 Part 2 We are back with Part 2 of our look ahead to GW12 with some of our writing team. If you missed it then Part 1 is here. There are a couple of newbies on this one, namely Ivan and Horse and we welcome them along. Just in case you have been asleep and missed it, this is a relatively new feature and the lowdown is explained below – So, what it’s all about? Well, in essence, each week a selection of our contributors will bring to you their FPL team for the gameweek ahead. They’ll start by giving a quick recap on the previous game week, what went well – and of course what went not so well! Then they’ll look forward to the gameweek ahead and outline what their initial thoughts are with regards to their starting...[Read More]
Predicted Line-ups and FPL Team News Gameweek 11 We’ll do away with the wordy intro as you should all be au fait with the new layout of this by now. As a quick reminder – There are two versions of this article. The one below has a drop-down version. It’s fairly idiot proof – you simply click on the small arrow to the right of the team name and you get a drop-down list of all the teams. Simply click on the one you want to see and hey presto, etc. This is the published article with the comments section to crack on with. The other one is permanently live and has the ‘nicer’ grid layout. If you want to see that version you can click here. This can also be easily accessed at any time via a myriad of links on our homepage – Header link, Hot Topics link, ...[Read More]
Predicted Line-ups and FPL Team News Gameweek 10 Slight change to the format here… A few weeks back now we launched two different versions of this article – one here with a nice ‘grid’ layout and the other on the permanently linked version (see below). With it being a bit of a ‘live experiment’ we weren’t sure what to expect but having done so it seems that the ‘grid’ version in conjunction with a live comments section caused a few loading issues and was generally a bit ‘buggy’. Nothing major but enough to make us have a re-think. As such we have simply switched the two and so now if you want to see the nicely laid out version you can click here. The one below now has the drop-down version. It’s fairly idiot proof thou...[Read More]

7 players that should be doing better in the FPL 2021/22 season As we reach the end of Game Week 8, two months of the 2021/22 Premier League campaign have now elapsed. It’s high time to review the season so far to determine which players have underperformed to date, relative to their transfer values and reputation. Any successful FPL manager will want to be looking at making some tweaks to their squad if things aren’t looking up with almost a quarter of the season gone. If you’re looking to change up your side, consider giving the seven following players a wide berth given their underperformance so far this term: Timo Werner With just one Premier League goal and one assist to his name, Timo Werner is still struggling to hit the ground running in English football. Granted, he has only start...[Read More]
The Impact of the Takeover at Newcastle United Mike Ashley’s 14-year tenure as divisive owner of Newcastle United was ended on October 8th 2021 following the completion of the protracted takeover by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). Although there have been some reservations from a moralistic standpoint, the takeover was widely celebrated across Tyneside with a jubilant throng of Newcastle fans gathering outside St. James’ Park to share their joy with fellow supporters. How Will the Takeover Impact the Club and the Premier League? Manager Steve Bruce celebrated his 1000th game as a manager on October 17th, however, the affable Geordie has now been relieved of his duties. The former Crystal Palace and Birmingham boss had helped to steady the ship and although his preferred style ...[Read More]
5 of the most unlikely top performers in the 2021/22 FPL so far With almost a quarter of the 2021/22 EPL campaign underway, now is the ideal opportunity for FPL managers to take a step back and check out some of the surprise performers in the league thus far. Below, we explore five high-scoring FPL players that weren’t expected to start the 2021/22 season in such blistering form. Andros Townsend 30-year-old winger Andros Townsend left Crystal Palace after a five-year association with the Eagles. Few could have predicted the impact he’d make at his new club Everton, scoring three goals in seven appearances in Rafael Benitez’s new-look side. Everton and Townsend have the luxury of not being involved in European competition this season. This could end up being a blessing in disguise, particul...[Read More]
Predicted Line-ups and FPL Team News 2021/22 GW8 We did say from the get go that this article would most likely evolve over time and we are very pleased to say that it has taken big strides this week. What you now see below is a live link to what Drafthound have on their website. Why is that significant? Well, firstly, it now means that the second they make any updates in reaction to live team news then they will also appear on here. Being uber helpful in that respect they also time-stamp all of their line-ups so you can tell to the minute when it was last updated. Secondly it also means that we now have a much smarter looking interface. Previously we have simply been screen-shotting the team images and that can mean they look a bit inconsistent and sometimes blurry, at best. And they were...[Read More]
Predicted Line-ups and FPL Team News Gameweek 7 If you can’t do something properly… get someone else to do it! We are back as ever with our predicted line-ups in conjunction with / courtesy of Drafthound. The usual warnings apply here: please take this as their / our best guess as to the line-ups, but it will never ever be 100% accurate, such is the nature of attempting to do so. Two things to bear in mind; We trust Drafthound. They will have done their research into all this, especially given what they do, just as we used to, but these things are a ‘best guess’ exercise at best. Usual leeway should be accounted for, etc. Given their time and effort in providing this content for us it would be rude not to occasionally click on the Drafthound link and check out their...[Read More]

FPL Team News and Predicted Line-ups Gameweek 5 If you can’t do something properly don’t bother doing it at all… The above title is a bit of a motto of FF247. And it sort of explains why we used to do this article but then suddenly stopped. The truth of the matter is that it simply became too much work for the team. Following every word of every press conference and then analysing that info and translating it into a line-up… twenty times, was quite frankly a bit too time consuming. The knock on effect was that it also pulled some key personnel away from the site on a Thursday and Friday. So we got into a situation whereby we had RMT’s stacking up and nobody to answer them! Would you rather the likes of Smash, GP and Init be stuck behind a computer waiting to r...[Read More]
