Fantasy Football 247 Site Team News Gameweek 22 A whole Jota fun Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW22. Sometimes FPL can be a simple game. Sell a Liverpool attacker, buy a Liverpool attacker, sit back and wait for the points to roll in. As mentioned in our last site team article, the vote to buy Jota was far from unanimous. We have GP, Swirly and Matt to thank for his inclusion. I did however vote to hand him the armband once he’d signed on the dotted line, nobody listened, but hey, I bought and captained Saka in my own team so who can blame them? Our backline came up trumps with clean sheets across the board, in stark contrast to our forward line who collectively managed a grim 5pts. A mixed bag in the middle with captain Palmer’s 20pts and new boy Diogo’s whopping 19pts making up for 5p...[Read More]

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 21 DON’T MENTION THE WAR BENCH Welcome to FF247 Site Team Gameweek 21 Regular readers will know that we played our Wildcard last week and those fat cats at FPL towers and their rules – just let us ‘double-chip’ and bench boost in the same week! Purlease? We’re having a good season no doubt – even our bench is hoiking up the points (THIRTY FREAKING TWO!) – but we’re too good, for our own good, clearly. CURSE THESE METAL HANDS. On to the team itself and pleasingly, scored 82 points and a week which shows us being 23 points above the average of 59, also saw us take a red arrow and drop 1708 places to 6,797 overall. Despite Mo Salah missing the penalty and GP smugly smiling (he wanted to sell him), he event...[Read More]

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team News Gameweek 20 Winging it… Our Gameweek 19 Result We suppose that our triple Newcastle contingent notching a whopping 2 points between them was a strong portent of what was to come. They can all bugger off on the incoming Wildcard. Things did ‘pick up’ briefly when our new signing Trent got a cleanie and all 3 bonus points. Sadly, that was to prove to be the highlight of our week! Solanke and Foden scoring did cheer us up a touch, but the rest did naff all, to put it politely. They can all bugger off too. All in all we matched the average of 38 which saw our rank fall a bit to 5,089th. We have 2.9m in the bank and 1 free transfer to use ahead of GW20. And, evidently, a Wildcard that must be burned. And a promise of selling most of our squad, if you believe ...[Read More]

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team News Gameweek 19 UPDATED 21:30pm Christmas Day Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW19. We have finally got a red arrow unfortunately. For what is a rarity this season but our 42 points, while above the average of 36 points was not enough to get us a green arrow. We have dropped from 1,992 to 3,456 (we love order). This is still an amazing rank and we will keep pushing for that number 1 spot! Our Gameweek 18 Result We have £7.1 in the bank and 1 free transfer to use ahead of GW19. Let’s go see what was decided… nothing. We decided to do nothing and just roll. Or did we… Our GW19 Transfer(s) Our initial thinking here was to simply do a Fonzie and walk away with the 2 FT’s. That was until the sharper ones amongst us (essentially just the sober ones on Christmas Day!) r...[Read More]

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team News Gameweek 18 Solankied Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW18 With FPL finally deciding to call an end to GW17 last night our hopes of keeping Solanke’s 6pts and having them upgraded to 9pts (with bonus) were dashed. Instead we have to make do with Mubama’s 1-pointer off the bench. So now we have 63pts (-4pts) which has turned a small green arrow into a small red one, leaving us ranked 1,992nd. All in all, it was a fairly decent week despite the red arrow. Our move for Solanke may not have turned out as planned but there are more important things in life. Our hit for a keeper paid off (we wouldn’t have had one otherwise) and whilst our captain blanked, there was very little competition to punish us. Star man this week was Palmer with a 14-point...[Read More]

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 17 We have good autosubs but not necessarily in the correct order Welcome to FF247 Site Team Gameweek 17 Two autosubs were used this week and we still had a 9-pointer sitting there amongst the injured and forgotten. Destiny Udogie (9) – we hardly knew ye! We had Jarrad Branthwaite (5), good sub/shame he’s suspended and Sam Johnstone (2) for the short-lived Caoimhin Kelleher. Damn. The remainder of the team, like many, benefitted from a very well chosen (but obvious) vice captain. Mo Salah (26) was our star man. Well – save for the aforementioned Branthwaite five, he was ONLY man. What a sorry show. Still we’re not too hard on them as they have served us well recently. Despite the 43 in total – 3 above the average –...[Read More]

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team News Gameweek 16 When you’re good, you’re good! Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW16 Last week we said we were a broken record and *scratch scratch*, here we go again with another solid week! We didn’t make any transfers in GW15 and rolled the transfer which we will count as a good decision due to the colour of our arrow. It did give us a precious 2FTs for what turned into a week where Mbeumo got injured, Son got a niggle, Tsimikas got benched. Lots of headaches around the X-verse to deal with. Now it’s not a massive green arrow but we finished on 39pts just above the 35pt gameweek average which saw a small rise from 662 to 528th. The air is getting thinner! Our Gameweek 15 Result We have £0.5 in the bank and 2 free transfers to use ahead o...[Read More]

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team News Gameweek 15 The dream is alive Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW15 We’re beginning to sound like a broken record, but yup you guessed it, we had another good game week!. We sold the injured Bowen who turned out not to be injured, his replacement Saka came in and scored 8pts so we didn’t mind! our other new signing Kelleher didn’t fair so well with just the 1pt on his debut a score matched by Palmer and Saliba. Elsewhere though it was a solid turnout across the board. Our Newcastle duo Gordon and Trippier combined to score us 22pts, Captain Salah managed an acceptable 10pts, just 2pts behind the other captain favourite (Haaland 7pts). An assist for Tsimikas for 4pts, 5pts for doing the same for Mbeuemo and a smashing 11pts for the ‘inj...[Read More]

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 14 How Long Will This Last? Welcome to FF247 Site Team Gameweek 14 As every normal person should do, your author has been listening to his daily dose of Blossoms. For those not au fait, they are an English band from Stockport who are very popular on these shores and hopefully further afield. Some brilliant tunes. One of which is on in the background as he begins to pen your Site Team Article – the title of this article is taken from that and is very apt considering where we find our FPL season leading. Ahead of Gameweek 14 we reside at 1,144 overall in the world. Crazy times. 876 points altogether and our third green arrow on the bounce. We are now way clear in first place in Bonaire, Saint Eustatius and Saba. How long will this last indeedR...[Read More]

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team News Gameweek 13 Could we be any higher? Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW13 We continue our climb up the rankings with another solid performance despite (like many) leaving Tsimikas and his 15pts first on our bench. With new signing Saliba picking up 9pts on his debut for us we would have loved those 15pts instead of the 1 a-piece we got from the Newcastle duo Trippier and Schar. Thankfully everything else went swimmingly, 32pts for captain Salah, 8pts from Bowen, and 6pts from Palmer making up for the 2pts we got from both Gordon and Mbeumo. Upfront it was business as usual with 16pts from Haaland and 6pts from Watkins. We finished the game week with 84pts, taking us up to 824 points overall, which was enough to seal yet another green arrow moving us from 2130 ...[Read More]

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team – Gameweek 12 The Kings of Bonaire, Saint Eustatius and Saba Welcome to FF247 Site Team – Gameweek 12 Well we bet you don’t want to hear a success story after the shambles that was Gameweek 11 do you? Well, unfortunately modesty (only just …) prevents us from happy dancing in front of you as we are celebrating a Gameweek 11 where we scored *gulp* 55 (FIFTY FIVE) points. Sam Johnstone scored us 9 in Palace’s clean sheet win at Burnley, whilst Kieran Trippier and Fabian Schar (disgracefully) helped themselves to 14 points between them. A goal from Jarrod Bowen (7) and an assist from Bryan Mbeumo (5) led us to Monday night and James Maddison and Cole Palmer to go. The Chelsea man rattled in 12 points whilst Maddison didn’t. In...[Read More]

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team News Gameweek 11

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team News Gameweek 11 If in doubt, do nowt Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW11 In the end, the -4 for Salah was the wrong play and resulted in a small red arrow. Salah did score, and a 16pt return for our captain is no bad thing, but we’re gluttons for punishment, so let’s see what we could have won! We sold Son (10pts) and Fernandes (1pts) and brought in Palmer (2pts) and Salah (C) (16pts), factor in the -4 and on the surface, we look to have come out on top with 14pts vs the 11pts we would have had. Not so fast though. If we hadn’t brought in Salah, we’d have likely captained Haaland (16pts). Had we done that, we would have finished the game week with 78pts which is 13pts more than the 69 (-4) we ended up with. That score would have seen us jump to the heady heights...[Read More]
