FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW21 9-a-side? Disaster! A shambolic game-week in every sense. A derisory 46 points has given us the reddest of arrows. We won’t take you through all of the disaster zones, there were just too many but when our bench contributes just as much as our two Leicester no-shows the writing is on the wall. At least we captained our best performer (Manè). Aside from him only TAA & Abraham contributed more than the minimum. And we only had 9 of our 15 actually bother to turn up… Time to shake ourselves down and move on asap. Our GW20 Result… Let’s go see what was decided… Our GW21 Transfer(s) We’ve only gone and done it! After continuously missing out on him over the past few weeks, we have eventually signed Kevin de Bruyne. The first sug...[Read More]
FF247 FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW20 We need to talk about Kevin… again! It’s amazing what a difference 1 solitary player can make to a GW. With 7 of our players, including our captain, gifting us just 21 points we were going into the Liverpool game staring down the barrel of yet another disappointing red arrow. Alexander-Arnold surpassed this on his own with an amazing 24, and Mane chipped in with an assist too. The outlier from all this was Alli who had earlier grabbed us a goal. For once our latest signing also did something as Grealish got us an assist too. In the late game Jimenez got us a goal and an assist leaving us on a total of 70 points for the week which meant a fair jump back up the ranks to some degree of acceptable decency; we gained about 50,000 places and now ...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW19 Going around in circles… Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW19. We are beginning to think one of us ran over a black cat recently, and declined to declare it. In case you missed it we sold Cantwell last week and brought Son. In a word then… d’oh! As well as that particular 11 point swing in the wrong direction we lost poor John McGinn early doors, to add to having already lost Tyrone Mings the week before. And suddenly our best laid plans are starting to to look a bit tattered. Elsewhere Pope and Lundstram brought us welcome relief with a clean sheet apiece, and Vardy and Jimenez got us a couple of goals. But that was all and so we ended up with a disappointing 37 points and yet another red arrow as we now slide down to 110...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW18 Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW18. Lies, damned lies and statistics 61 points in GW17 saw us beat the average by 5pts but fall further down the rankings. We now stand at 76,701st – not the worst but we need to stop the rot before it sets in as that is now a run of four consecutive red arrows. Our 61 points were nicely shared throughout the team – rare clean sheets for Pope and TAA were a pleasant surprise, while assists for Mane, Vardy and Jimenez have become the norm. A Monday night late goal for Zaha helped us recover somewhat, but like many, the star of the show was again Lord Lundstram with a clean sheet, assist and 2bps. Praise the Lord! Our GW17 Result… Let’s go see what was decided… Our GW18 Transfer(s) Going int...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW17 Oh come all ye faithless… Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW17. Oh dear, we had a bit of a car crash last week, so much so that our score of 51 didn’t even beat the average and our GW rank was sub 4 million. You rather sense things aren’t going to go well when your keeper concedes 5 but can’t even manage a solitary save point. He wasn’t alone in his ineptness though as the rest of our defence got 5 points between them, 3 of our midfielders got 4 between them and even Jesus couldn’t save us as he got 2. Our only bright lights were our new signing Alli with a couple of assists, Jimenez with one of his own and of course Vardy with his usual haul. All this saw us drop considerably in the ranks and we now sit ...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW16 Patience is a virtue… Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW16. The way these new signings are going lately we are beginning to think we have hired Marcel Brands. Fortunately our results are a bit better than those of a certain Mr Silva so we don’t fear for the chop just yet. Zaha was our latest flop and to compound matters we booted Mason Mount out for him, who scored. Naturally. Wilf is a long term acquisition though and we count ourselves a bit unfortunate in that he didn’t really get to play his natural game after the early red for Sakho in that match. The previous week’s signing was Jesus who flopped on his debut but came good for us this time with a brace and full bonus points, handily reminding us that you donR...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW15 MOUNTING ISSUES… Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team article for GW15. We were left floundering around for either points or poistives in GW14, in what was probably not a vintage FPL week, at least not for us anyway. Trent got us a couple of assists, our Sterling patience was rewarded with a goal, Jimenez got an assist and Captain Vardy a solitary goal. The other 7 all got 2 points or less for a combined total of 13. Which meant that we landed on 47 points, 4 below the average and suffered a small slip in the rankings down to 30,967th. It’s all relative though and we have a midweek GW to get back on the horse immediately. Our GW14 Result… We have 1 free transfer and £0.7m in the bank so let’s go see what was decided...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW14 BALD MEN FIGHTING OVER A COMB Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW14. Any one of our outfield bench players would have scored more for us last week than five of our starting eleven did, had we played them. We didn’t. Cantwell would have been our 2nd top scorer, had we not marooned him 3rd on our bench. We did. Regrets, regrets. But it happens. On a positive note we did still score semi-decently with 66 points from those who bothered to show up; namely (C) Vardy with his now standard 24, Soyuncu with his standard CS and 6, Mane with his standard goal and 9, Jimenez with his standard goal and 7 and Pope with an unexpected CS but also somehow standard 9. Overall then we did just manage to eek out our 3rd green arrow in a row to grab ou...[Read More]
FF247 FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW11 An Englishman, an Irishman and Nostradamus walk into Cash Converters… Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW11. Where do we begin? As you may remember from last week’s article, we toyed with the idea of selling Kun & Mount for Vardy & KdB. If some of the committee members hadn’t (literally) fallen asleep during the meeting we may have made those very transfers, but we’ll never know now. Let’s forget about what could have been and concentrate on what did happen. We registered a paltry 51pts which in itself wasn’t horrendous and was actually 2pts above the average but it wasn’t enough to prevent a 4th red arrow in a row. Anymore and we’ll have enough for our very own aerobatic team. We now sit at 181,371st. We at least got our...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW10 Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW10. “Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road…” There are great weeks, good weeks, average weeks and horrendous weeks. GW9 was definitely the latter for us as we scored just 30pts, 7pts below the average and a GW rank of 5.5mln. D’oh! We know we weren’t alone, after all misery loves company. Looking for highlights is understandably easy enough as they were few and far between. Digne was our highest scorer with 6 followed close behind by Sterling with 5. Captain Abraham did nowt, but he wasn’t alone. We did suffer of course by the absences of Salah and Aguero with Cantwell and Pieters coming off the bench for an accumulated 4pts. Lundstram was frustratingly left stranded third on our...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW8 Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW8 Don’t panic… When McGinn is your joint top scorer on 8 points and he isn’t even your captain you could be forgiven for panicking. But, alas, it’s all relative, and most people were in the same boat this week. Our new signigns Mings and Abraham proved to be unispired choices as they combined for a grand total of 3 points. Elsewhere we had Sterling on 7, Mount, Pieters and Soyuncu all with 6, Salah on 3, Pukki on 2 and Pope on 1. Our captain (Aguero) didn’t even start the game, although he did come on and notch a belated assist. All that left us on 50 points, 1 below the average, and an inevitable red arrow, our first of the season. It knocked us back about 20k in the ranks and ...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW7 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW7. Spawning Glory A Zinchenko no-show was always on the cards at some point, a Sterling one less so, albeit less excepted. One was plenty enough, but the latter was less welcome, especially considering how many points he may have scored in the annual Watford roasting. Lundstram was our main beneficiary in the above deal as he glefully leapt from the bench, 12 points in hand. Ordinarily we would be more than happy for Mount to climb likewise but this time he simply filled in a two point hole. Elsewhere our Burnley duo of Pope and Pieters did what they do when at home and combined for 13 between them, McGinn surprised us with a 10 pointer away at Arsenal and Kun somehow disappointed us with an 18 pointer a...[Read More]
