FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Gameweek 1 Welcome to FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Gameweek 1 Our 2021/22 Overall Rank and Recent History A season which was affected by weather postponements, Covid postponements and GP not correctly placing the TC Chip on Salah, ended with our Site Team achieving a sub-100K rank (usually a very respectable target all things considered) placing at 83,426 overall. In our eight seasons of playing, this is our 5th best – or fourth worst depending on how you view your glass – and whilst there is obvious room for improvement, we approach the new season with renewed vigour and a self-set target of beating our previous best ever and getting into that top 5,000. “Aim for the stars and you might reach the moon” or howev...[Read More]
FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Gameweek 38 Welcome to FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Gameweek 38 Free Hit? Completed it mate…. Our final chip of the season was planned in advance to be played in Double Gameweek 37 – and it was Free Hit Time! Not to blow our own collective trumpet, but we nailed it. 110 points in total – an enormous 67 (SIXTY SEVEN) above the weekly average and hence, we take our largest ranking jump of the season and approach the final gameweek of the season at 80,272 overall. We are on course for a better finish than last season when we ended up just outside the quarter million mark. Far from our personal best of 5757 in 2018/19 and the 5921 (in 2014/15) but having made a bit of a mess of the Triple Captain chip (well GP did) –...[Read More]
FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Double Gameweek 36 Welcome to FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Double Gameweek 36 Shopping on page 2… We’re afraid to report that it was another below-par week for your FF247 Site Team in Gameweek 35. We have been treading water these past few weeks and we’re out of form and exactly the WRONG time. We approach Double Gameweek 36 at 141,909 in the overall standings and it feels like we’ve been bouncing around there forever (or well, at least since the administrator didn’t ensure the Triple Captain Chip was played on Mohamed Salah that time everyone else had him). The weekly average was 44 this past week and we had a measly 39 points to show for our eleven guys on the field – and even the 2 points from Ivan Tone...[Read More]
FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Gameweek 35 Welcome to FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Gameweek 35 If you remember we used our Triple Captain Chip last week and planned to use it on one of our DGW Chelsea players. Surprise surprise we picked the wrong horse in this race! Our Mason Mount scored 15 points instead of the possible 57 had we gone for Marcos Alonso. Yay! We scored 78 points overall which was well above the average and has lifted us to 129,035 overall. Bukayo Saka again with the double figure score – 13 from his goal and assist. Apart from bog-standard returns from Alexander-Arnold, Salah, Dubravka and Davies, it was 2-pointers across the rest. Our Gameweek 34 Result… We have £0.0mln in the bank and 1 free transfer to use ahead of Gameweek 35. Let’...[Read More]
FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Double Gameweek 34 Welcome to FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Double Gameweek 34 One of those weeks again where we don’t know whether to puff out our cheeks in boredom or lift our eyebrows in a mood of optimism and calculated realism for the end of season run-in. So much as to say we scored above the average for the week – 66 for us, which is above the 61 benchmark – but we show a red arrow for the week and land at 167,149 overall for the time being. The GIF of Larry David from Curb Your Enthusiasm swithering would be inserted here were your author more tech savvy. Martin Dubravka of Newcastle is our man in-between the posts and has posted 7 then 8 in his last two weeks which is welcome and worthy of a little mention. Tr...[Read More]
FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Gameweek 33 Welcome to FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Gameweek 33 After a rather disappointing week in Gameweek 31, we showed character, resolve and a couple of Spurs players to bounce back in style last week. We thank hugely our captain Harry Kane (20) and Dejan Kulusevski (12) as they, with Raphinha (10) and our new signing Ivan Toney of Brentford, who arrived with a 12, combined to provide us with 73 points and an overall rank of 158,171. On Sunday we had full backs Trent Alexander Arnold and Joao Cancelo in the game of the season and despite it finishing 2-2 and no clean sheets to be seen (or were ever likely to be seen in all honesty) they scored 4 and 5 respectively underlining just how valuable they are as attacking FPL players. W...[Read More]
FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Gameweek 32 Welcome to FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Gameweek 32 A week at FF247 Headquarters where our charges posted a -7. Now in the week of The Masters, this sounds quite reasonable indeed. However our -7 was in relation to the weeky average score. Our 36, some way behind the 43 benchmark. Inevitably this lead to a red arrow. Off we popped (knew I’d get a Mike Dean reference in at some point this week!) to 180,460 overall and a drop of some 30,000 places. Fore! Three Sixes, a Five and a Four were our BEST performers. Read them and weep. We did. Our Gameweek 31 Result… We have £1.3mln in the bank and 2 free transfers to use ahead of Gameweek 32. Let’s go see what was decided. Our Gameweek 32 Transfer(s) We thought about s...[Read More]
FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Gameweek 31 Welcome to the FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Gameweek 31 Our Gameweek 30 Result So after a long international break where the attention was turned (for some) to qualifying for the World Cup later this year, we cast an eye back to how it went for our side in Gameweek 30. A very strange week numbers-wise. To start off, we scored 48 points – a sizeable and respectable 20 points above the weekly average – but somehow we slid in the overall rankings. There were obviously a number of huge scores amongst the rest. Most definitely a win for those who chose to play a Free Hit. And again, FPL reminded us of one of its age-old lessons – quality over quantity – that is, it’s the players that you do have ...[Read More]
FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Gameweek 30 Welcome to FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Gameweek 30 If you recall last week, we decided against playing our Bench Boost, mainly because there were one or two injury issues that were unclear and we didn’t want to waste it by fielding just a couple of players from it. Said bench then went and scored 23! We aren’t having much luck with these chips this season, especially if anyone remembers our TC debacle from a few weeks back (no – Ed). On the plus side we still have all of them to play! As for those on the pitch itself they did pretty well for us, the highlights being Kane (14), TAA (13), Kulusevski (11), Ramsdale (10), White (8) and our Captain Salah (20). All in they got us 96 points, 24 above the average...[Read More]
FF247 Site Team Gameweek 29 Welcome to FF247 Site Team Gameweek 29 Tough Crowd …. So as you know we wildcarded last week which looked great with 81 points – 13 ABOVE average – but a red arrow! Whaaa….? We have dropped to 155,025 overall and now look to continue the good scoring into the remiander of the season starting in 29 and getting back to a green. Mohamed Salah captain (6) being a major let down in our squad, when in hindsight we might have played the odds and gone with a DGW player such as Harry Kane – who was our weekly top scorer with 13. Trent Alexander-Arnold (12), Bukayo Saka (12), Raul Jimenez (9) and Thiago Silva (8) were the best of the supporting cast. Our Gameweek 29 Result… We have £0.0mln in the bank and 1 free transfer to use ahead of...[Read More]
FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Gameweek 28 Cast your minds back to last week if you can and you will remember that we played our first chip of the season (not counting the first wildcard) by utilising our Free Hit chip to set our team up for the double gameweek. The headline is we scored 62 points which was 22 points above the weekly average which was, to all intents and purposes, a very good score. However as usual, when you drill a little deeper, your eyes are inevitably drawn to the captain and 6 points from a striker who played two games is a poor return so we say thanks to Wout Weghorst (6) – probably your first and last time carrying our armband mate. But cheers! His fellow strikers were Armand Broja (2) and Harry Kane (11) – who was up against an embarrassingl...[Read More]
FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups GW27 Welcome to FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups GW27. Hmmm… where to begin?! In fairness, there only one place to begin. Our TC, or should I say lack of TC. The eagle eyed amongst you may have spotted that we scored a miserable 88pts in GW26. How did we manage that when our TC, Salah, scored 84pts? Well, despite the graphic from last week’s article indicating that we had TC’d Salah, we somehow didn’t have Salah as TC. It gets worse, we didn’t even have Salah as our captain. No, that honour somehow fell to Trent! And who is to blame for this fiasco? We’re not prepared to throw that individual under the bus, but for now let’s just call him Sean Connery! The average score last week was 84pts but this counts for very little as those around us...[Read More]
