Grab, Avoid or Bore off! Welcome to another installment of Grab, Avoid or Bore off for the 2015-16 season. No better time to put out a semi-helpful article, as we start getting into the tough weeks. You can no longer get away with flying by the seat of your pants (finger pointed firmly at you Mitro) with blanks and double game-weeks, and the chips starting to get used by those that still have them. For long, many have believed that a lot of the higher ranked players are there more by fluke than anything. So as we head down the stretch expect the managers with well thought out plans to start climbing up the overall, so if them managers were truly fluky they will be exposed. So with that in mind, we hope the 3 Amigos of mediocrity can help a little, even if it is by pure chance that they cal...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Tips Game-week 26 Tips, with a difference! We’ve decided to mix things up a bit for the remainder of the season. We like to keep things fresh and interesting but also without veering too far off the well trodden and proven pathway. And so from here on in this is how things will pan out. We will be alternating our tips article between Kop and Inittowinit. Kop’s Tips article usually takes a short to medium term view and looks at who we should be buying with a view to the wider picture and with the next three weeks or so ahead in mind. This is invaluable and will of course continue but every other week we are now going to mix it up with Inittowinit looking at who he fancies for the week ahead in isolation. He will be picking an 11 that he would field that week alo...[Read More]
Kops Fantasy Football Tips Game-week 24 And so it has been confirmed folks, our first blank game-week of the season. I’m not going to discuss what this might mean in regards to any impending double game-weeks as both as both DMC and Mito have previously discussed this in some detail, suffice to say that Liverpool, Everton, Man City and Newcastle will not feature in GW27. So what does this mean for our teams and specifically our transfers over the coming weeks? Basically it calls for some detailed planning…some of us are screwed so! You will hear it said that you should not transfer in a player from the aforementioned teams as they blank in GW27 but there’s three entire game-weeks between now and then, so if you had planned to bring in the likes of Aguero, Firmino, Lukaku or even Andros Tow...[Read More]
Kops Fantasy Football Tips Game-week 23 Another week, another intro. I was going to carry out some research as NIN & Init did for their excellent Fixtures article but I’m far too lazy for that, so instead I’ll just waffle on for a few more sentences! FPL has shown some signs of late that it is set to become a little interesting again as the template begins to crumble, although another is bound to form soon. Once the League Cup semis are completed next Wednesday night we will have our first blank game-week of the season confirmed which in turn will lead to our first double game-week of the season and who doesn’t love a good double?! With 10 days of the transfer window remaining there is still time for a couple of interesting signings which will hopefully spice things up. Anyway enough w...[Read More]
A Look at the Transfer Market Game-week 21 What does FF247 do when they have too many days between game-weeks? Well, they trot me out, usually it is with a Grab, Avoid or Bore off, but seeing as there was one last week, we decided to take a different road. Has Mito gone serious? Hell no! Just a one time thing, I hope. So the next time you see me, I will be back asking the uncomfortable questions of them Three Amigos. So just bare with me on this article, pretend you liked it and I will pretend I liked writing it. Well let’s get to it and give me your honest opinion, unless it is negative, in that case just lie.
Grab, Avoid or Bore off! Welcome to another installment of Grab, Avoid or Bore off for the 2015-16 season. As always we will tackle some of the most unimportant questions in FPL and in life in general. The 3 Amigos are back for another round of very difficult questioning and the occasional FPL question. Will Kun come straight in? Is Mertesacker slower than a dead turtle? Does Ozil see better at night? Will Miss Colombia be given a crown for the embarrassment they caused her? WoW! I am dying to see the answers, so let’s get to it and see what our 3 wise men have in store for us. [highlight_yellow]This Bore Off was completed a couple of days before GW18, so if some of the questions seem a tad late, that is the reason.[/highlight_yellow]
Kops Fantasy Football Tips Game-week 17 Bah Humbug! Christmas is cancelled! Given the mood of many fantasy managers I suspect many would like to cancel Christmas. At this stage I would like to quote NIN from Sunday night, however I fear my editor wouldn’t be too impressed with the flavour of the language. So instead I’ll paraphrase, ‘this is a crap season’! But for those amongst you who share NIN’s sentiment fear not, for the festive period provides us with four opportunities in the space of 16 days to get our seasons back on track. When writing this article we typically focus on the next six game-weeks but this week we are solely focusing on the busy Christmas period…whilst a puppy isn’t just for Christmas a fantasy footballer might very well be! So we’ve put on our Christmas hats and bel...[Read More]
Kops Fantasy Football Tips Game-week 14 For a number of reasons I was forced to miss the last few weeks so before the waffle begins I’d like to thank both Init & Cookie for ensuring that Tips continued. You were in good hands as Cookie proved last week when he tipped Leicester’s Danny Simpson. Many laughed at our Cookie but he was to have the last laugh as Simpson pitched in with 10pts last week. So what’s happened since I’ve been gone? The United defence continues to impress, picking Liverpool players is once again a possibility, Jamie Vardy has equalled Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record and now has Stan Mortensen’s record in his sights, Harry Kane has rediscovered his form, Sergio Aguero has made a goalscoring return and it’s déjà vu for Arsenal as key players continue to pick up injuries...[Read More]
Kops Fantasy Football Tips Game-week 16 Get in! I suspect many of us shared such a reaction last Saturday afternoon when we checked the results and saw that Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez had scored a hat-trick. We then realised that the Algerian is currently FPL’s most popular player and features in over 60% of teams. This meant that his points were unlikely to have a significant impact on our rankings, unless you were smart enough to have captained him. With this in mind we have decided to look at a number of differentials this week who could actually boost your ranking should they score well over the coming weeks. As we’ve said in the past, differentials are differentials for a reason in that there are always better options available and more often than not they come with a certain amount of ...[Read More]
Kops Fantasy Football Tips Game-week 15 With Christmas now just a little more than three weeks away we expect many of you are preparing to get in the festive spirit but a word of warning to you all, now is not the time to take your eye off the ball when it comes to your fantasy team. Although given some of our rankings some of us have clearly not had our eye on the ball since August! For much of the season I suspect many of us have been happy enough to play with a squad of 14 or even 13 players but as we move towards the busy festive period I would advise everyone to ensure that they have a squad of players who are likely to feature on a regular basis as we will inevitably have to deal with players picking up injuries while certain managers are likely to rotate certain players. With all of...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Tips Game-week 13 Welcome to this week’s Tips as we attempt to identify those players that FPL managers should be looking to acquire to improve their rankings and push their season on as we return after the International break. There are tips for each position and at a range of prices, some have been widely spoken about over the last fortnight or so, while a few have that surprise element. All have decent fixtures this week and therefore give the opportunity for instant returns and while we cannot tip everyone we hope we have covered most of the bases. Of course there are players we haven’t tipped – that doesn’t mean they should be ignored, there are more available and in-form players available than at any point this season and coupled with some dec...[Read More]
International Break Round Up [three_fourth padding=”0 20px 0 0″] View image | gettyimages.com [/three_fourth]During this period, our most important assets travel around the world, either to compete for Euro or World Cup qualification or just to play friendly games. They get tired from long distances covered, they struggle with jet lag to and on top of that they sometimes get inj… sshhhhh. In a word they get internationalbreaked. And we, honest and dedicated FPL managers, are sometimes left with choosing between taking unwanted hits, losing team value or even using chips to compensate. All just to make sure we start a decent enough first XI on the following week. That’s not fair play. We’ve only just recovered from the last one really… and just when your player...[Read More]
