Kops Fantasy Football Tips Game-week 5 With the Champions League having kicked off it means we are now into the season of rotation and it started last weekend with many fantasy managers suffering a kick in the teeth as Brendan Rodgers chose to rest Raheem Sterling ahead of the visit of the mighty Ludogorets on Tuesday night. What this goes to prove is that that fantasy football is a squad game and that over the coming weeks and months those cheap bench players we all own are likely to become more important. Slowly but surely we are starting to see patterns develop which should in theory make our decisions much easier to make, but let’s be honest, sometimes the more information the more difficult it is to make a decision! So just to make things ‘easier’ for you we have below outlined a numb...[Read More]
Kops Fantasy Football Tips Game-week 4 These international breaks become more and more tedious, particularly as they are now spread out over four nights…good one Michel! Not only are these breaks tedious, but they can also prove detrimental to an FPL squad and at the time of writing, leading FPL players such as Ramsey, Hazard, Costa & Sturridge are all yellow flagged although only time will tell if these injuries are real or fictitious. In recent years this international break has become a popular time to make use of ones wildcard and with all the players who moved on transfer deadline day there will be significant changes to many FPL squads ahead of GW4. So whether you are currently on a wildcard or you are just trying to deal with these annoying ‘international’ injuries we have belo...[Read More]
Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! To help you decide or just confuse you a bit more, we have asked 3 of our writers to pass judgment on what players you would do well to pick up and what players are better left out of the fray. We hope this is a simple straightforward formula that can assist you in your decision making as we ride out this International Break. We avoided including players like Siggy, Sterling, Ramsey or Costa as there is really no point. There seems to be overwhelming consensus on these cats. Grab – You need this player on your squad. On the Def/Keeper categories if they select Grab, they will give us a name or two from said team. For example…

Lets take a whistle stop tour of some of the more interesting transfers that occurred in the window.
FPL Transfer Window New Player Analysis part 1 [three_fourth padding=”0 20px 0 0″] #137550311 / gettyimages.com [/three_fourth]It’s fair to say that Premier League clubs have been quick to spend their new slice of the vastly increased TV money. In this transfer window they managed to shell out a record £835m between them with no less than six clubs breaking their own transfer records. Manchester United lead the way with an outlay of £149m and were joined in the £100m club by Liverpool on £117m with Chelsea and Arsenal not far behind on £91m and £82m respectively. Over the next two articles we aim to provide you with a whistle stop tour of the major deals that were done in the last few days of the transfer window and hopefully give you an overview of who we feel may be of ...[Read More]
FPL Player Profiles – Angel Di Maria, Mario Balotelli and Radamel Falcao – Fantasy Premier League tips 2014/15 #454288796 / gettyimages.com With the transfer window slamming shut last night, we thought it prudent to take a look at some of the incoming names that you may want to consider for your FPL teams. This season has already seen a steady influx of talent come into the league and we have covered many of these in pre-season so will now take a look at some of those who joined late on in the window. We begin with three huge names in the world of football, one of whom we already have amusing experience of in Mario Balotelli and as for the other two – most of us possibly thought we would never see either in the Premier League, Angel Di Maria and Falcao. The first two actu...[Read More]
Kops Fantasy Football Tips Game-week 3 Only two game-weeks into the new season and a number of things are becoming apparent. United’s preseason form which led to many managers having two if not three United players in their squad was possibly a false dawn and managers are now rethinking this strategy. Chelsea & City already appear head & shoulders above the rest and it will be a brave manager who does not have ample coverage from both sides. Before the season started many suggested that this could be the season of 3-5-2 and while it’s far too early to confirm if this is the case, a number of high profile midfielders have started well making it a distinct possibility. Anyway, that’s enough waffle, let’s get down to business…below we have outlined (aka waffled!!) a number of players ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Transfers and Team Value explained and debated – Fantasy Premier League tips 2014/15 Due to popular demand as it’s been a huge topic of debate on the forum’s we welcome you to our article on Transfers and Team Value (TV) – one a massive part of FPL while the latter’s importance and relevance continues to split opinion amongst managers. We will start by walking you through the very basic rules on transfers, how they work, how you can make cash for your team and then finish by talking with two experienced FPL managers about Team Value, one of whom is a big fan of TV and one who thinks it is not all it’s cracked up to be! If the below is all very obvious, then bear with me – it is very important information for new players to learn and understand to maximise...[Read More]
Kops Fantasy Football Tips Game-week 2 So what if anything did we learn from GW1? Not a whole lot really! Chelsea were by far & away the most impressive of the would-be title contenders while David Moyes is apparently a better manager than Louis van Gaal! In the world of fantasy football it really is too early to draw any meaningful conclusions. There has been much talk of taking early hits and even some talk of playing wildcards but our advice to you is not to panic, remember that you picked your original 15 players for a reason and as such you should try to give them time, by all means make your weekly transfer but don’t go mad. However you decide to play it we have below outlined a number of players whom we feel will deliver over the coming weeks.
Kops Fantasy Football Tips Game-week 1 – Fantasy Premier League 2014/15 “I remember when, I remember, I remember when I lost my mind”! For most of us it was last May as the FPL grew to a close and for some reason we’re about to do it all over again. Some took the summer off to recharge the batteries while others chose to play fantasy World Cup which helped pass the time but we still longed for the return of the FPL and the good news is that it’s now only a matter of days away. While there is a sense of anticipation in the air, there is also a sense of panic and desperation as fantasy managers the world over struggle to decide on a squad with which they are happy! But fear not, below I have outlined a number of players whom I feel can deliver the points that will get you off to a soli...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Pre-season Friendly Overview We sent him here, we sent him there. He came back with regular pre-season updates. We appreciated it all gratefully. What we weren’t quite expecting was that he would come knocking on the FF247 door at the end of it all and tell us that he had compiled all the results for every team into a nice little pile for us. And that he’d completed a summary assessment of each team. And that he’d included the main transfers for each. And that he’d he then added a few observations. And that he’d even then included likely line-ups for each team. Well blow us away as he’s done all that and then some! Hats off to The Gallant Pioneer as this truly is an outstanding piece of work. Over to the man himself…
Fixture Tracker – Fantasy Premier League 2014-15 We’ve all seen a few different ways of viewing upcoming fixtures, and the one that has become increasingly popular over the last couple of years is the colour-coded one. With this, you can instantly see each team’s approaching fixtures with an accompanying colour that corresponds to the difficulty of each match. This is very useful for both identifying teams that are potentially about to have a great run due to a kind set of fixtures, and also identifying weaker teams that can rotate well, i.e. when one team has a bad fixture the other will have a decent one, so you swap between the two players. For more info on rotation, check out Mito’s somewhat exceptional article on it 😉 Rotation Analysis Home and Away and Favoura...[Read More]
