Harry & Lloyd’s Predictions Competition

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW25

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW25 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW25. Its been a dramatic few days over here at Harry and Lloyd’s, but we can announce that on deadline day we pushed through a deal and are happy to announce that site regular and contributor DMC has agreed to join the H&L team for an undisclosed fee and has signed a 10-year deal. Sometimes strange things happen in life, Newcastle beating Man City would be one such example, another example would be someone actually putting their name forward to not only count up all the predictions each game-week, but to then put them in a shiny new ‘updated weekly’ league table. Well, both of those things happened this week. When DMC (who must be a glutton for punishment) put his name forward fo...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW24

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW24 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW24. This week’s results were notable in that there were not one but two 4-3 scorelines. As a Newcastle fan, I’m not fond of 4-3 results. It feels like every season they trot out the famous 4-3 Liverpool v Newcastle games from back when I was a much younger man, hailed as some of the greatest games in Premier League history. Well, I  can tell you there was nothing great about those games, they were soul destroying. So Crystal Palace and in particular Leicester fans; you have my sympathies. The other notable result last game-week? Newcastle (yes this is all about me) scoring 3 at home and keeping a clean sheet, I know, I know even I had to do a double take and I was there. This weeks winner ...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW23

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW23 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW23. It was a low scoring game-week with no more than two goals scored by any team over the Saturday and Sunday fixtures. If you went with Elle’s tactic of simply saying ‘2-1 for everyone else’ you’d probably have done fairly well; lazy? Yes, but clearly not a bad tactic. There were no real standout results this weekend, maybe Southampton’s 1-2 win away to Leicester at a push, and perhaps City would have been expected to score more, what with Wolves playing for most of their Monday night game down to ten men. Anywho, I know nobody reads this so let’s get to last weeks big winners; 11 points was all it took to claim top spot, three of you did just that. MDB, Gavy and ...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW22

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW22 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW22. There have clearely been a lot of fixtures in the last few weeks, and I’ll be honest here I’ve forgotten half the scores, and believe me I’ve watched a lot of football over the festivities. In GW18 the standout results were, of course, Palace picking up all 3 points at the Etihad and a 1-5 win for Manchester United and new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær. In GW19 City succumbed to yet another defeat whilst their rivals in red continued a winning streak which ran throughout the Christmas fixtures, almost. The big shock in GW20 had to be that late Wolves show to claim a memorable victory away to Spurs, I can confidently say nobody aw that coming. GW21 brought a close to the festive fix...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Xmas Predictions

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW’s 18-21 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW’s 18-21. Those festive fixtures we’ve all been banging on about are finally here and it’s looking busier than Santa’s workshop. With this in mind (and the fact we’ll probably be too busy drinking, eating and generally being merry) we’ve decided to group the next four game-weeks into this one article. How you post your predictions is entirely up to you. If you want to do the full lot in one fell swoop that’s probably the easiest way for us, but if you wish to do it game by game then all we ask is that you add your subsequent predictions as a comment to your original post. GW17 Winner was eplnoob on 16 points, Gavy was 2nd with 15 points and 3rd was a tie betwe...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW17

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW17 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW17. Last time around I had a good old moan about my FPL game-week, things have not improved, if anything they’re worse. However, this competition shall from here on in become a haven from all things FPL. When your game-week gets you down head over here, we promise there shall be no mention of hits, captain fails, differentials, clean-sheets or any other words that have become part of our daily lexicon. We covered both GW15 and GW16 last week. GW15 was memorable in that there were no clean sheets and not a lot else. GW16 was memorable as it brought Man City’s first defeat, clean sheets were back on the menu (7) and the attacking Liverpool of 2017/18 season turned up to score four and take t...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW’s 15 & 16

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW’s 15 & 16 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW’s 15 & 16. Things are (as most of you are likely aware of) going to get a little hectic over the coming weeks. We want to continue bringing this competition to you without missing any game-weeks. With that in mind we may occasionally double-up our fixtures, hell, we may end up trebling or possibly even quadrupling them. We’ll approach each situation as it comes and make it clear in each article how many you have to post. This week it’s a doubler, so make sure you get both sets of fixtures in. How you do this is up to you, all we ask is that if you do choose to do so separately, please do it as a comment to your own post (Keeps Matt from losing his mind!). It was our man down the pub S...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW14

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW14 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW14. I’m currently mid-way through my (semi) self-imposed FPL exile after the worst game-week of my entire FPL career (a GW rank of almost 5 million). I was so angry, that last Saturday night that I even made my first ever ‘rage transfer’ with the mentality that I simply no longer care about the implications (when half my team is flagged come the following week). Why am I telling you this given that it has nothing to do with this competition? Well, because I can / does anyone actually read this intro? / it’s cathartic / I can’t bring myself to review what was a very painful weekend in FPL for me. Anyway enough about me. It was both a low scoring and tight affair over here, it to...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW13

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW13 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW13. It was a low scoring game-week in both the Premier League and over here at H&L HQ in GW12. Man City (predictably) were the only team to score more than 2 goals and only Cardiff, Liverpool and Newcastle (get in!) the only teams to score more than 1. Nothing but hard facts here ladies and gents! Only 10pts were required to take top-spot this week, that honour went to Offalymartin. Iggy4 took second with 9pts and everyone and their dog turned up with 8pts to make it a tight squeeze on this weeks podium. This game-week kicks off in the traditional three o’clock Saturday slot, making it all the more interesting (and difficult) to pick the first goalscorer; good luck! Congrats to Offalymartin ...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW12

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW12 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW12. Newcastle won! Who saw that coming? Not I and I was there, I had to leave on 92 mins as I simply couldn’t handle the possibility of us throwing it away, thankfully that didn’t happen, happy days. Huddersfield also sneaked a 1-0 victory so sadly we’re still hovering around at the wrong end of the table. Elsewhere it was business as usual, Man City still scoring for fun but unfortunately for those with double City defence (me) they failed to keep the clean sheet many on here predicted. Double drat. There was no double drat for Padster this week who cruised to victory with a tidy 17pts. Last season’s table topper DenPerryDitIt (I often wonder ‘where does that name come?&...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW11

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW11 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW11. It was a tough weekend for a multitude of reasons. I’ll first off echo the thoughts of Swirly in his fixtures article in relation to the events at Leicester City at the weekend. It puts things into perspective, a reminder that some things are more important than the moans and groans we’re all guilty of week to week. There were no major surprise results in GW10, even Cardiff scoring at Anfield was no real surprise given that Alberto Moreno was restored to the starting 11. Expected defeats for Huddersfield, Fulham and Burnley another 0-0 for my lot down at St Mary’s, even the 2-2 draw between Crystal Palace and Arsenal seemed perfectly predictable, at least in hindsight. The winner...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW10

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW10 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW10. Man City scored 5, Newcastle lost and Jose ended a match in a rage, some things never change. Fortunately (depending on your POV) it wasn’t an entirely predictable game-week; Watford showed us why treble Wolves at the back is not advised, Cardiff may yet put up a fight after all and if you kept the faith with Jordan Pickford (or picked him in a tips article) then you either very patient or very wise indeed. All of the above created a relatively low scoring week over here at Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions. 12pts was enough to secure the top spot for Gear, with a three-way tie for second between MattX, AJW and Derrejj who all ended the game-week with a very close 11pts. We have a rare 3 p...[Read More]
