MLS GW3 Tips Fantasy Major League Soccer THIS WEEKS DEADLINE IS SATURDAY 18th MARCH AT 6pm UK TIME GW2 was the round when the scores actually started to ‘count’. Well, unless you were in H2H leagues – because those scores stayed in place from the first round. But the classic scoring reset itself. Listen folks, this is the MLS. If you’re participating and you’re active in the league and the game, you just have to accept that some things are going to be a bit off. There’s no other way around it. All in all though, GW2 was a fun week to watch. Even though the league says there’s no way that they could do a winter schedule like everybody else in the world, we had a snow game in Minnesota that was so unique and had so much scoring that the league couldn’t stop gushing about how great it w...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 29 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 29. This weekend sees one of the best days of the year, St. Patricks Day!! The one day of the year we all get to release our true alcoholic side with it being totally acceptable, and just in time too! Last weekend we saw only four matches and the likes of Can, Schneiderlin and Mawson hitting the back of the net with the bigger names not getting the points. Most teams only scraped together eight or nine players so it was to be expected that scores would be low and with an average of 15 points that clearly happened. We could all do with a massive performance from our captain but this is my first Captain Pick’s article so we’ll see how I do!! 5. Josh King and Gylfi Sigurdsson (Bournemouth...[Read More]
Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 29 Welcome to the Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 27. It was an ‘ok’ week, we scored 47pts (39 net after the 8pt hit) vs an average of just 19 – so we cannot grumble, it could of been better, it could of been worse. Thanks to Captain Lukaku for his 24pt return to help maintain our decent ranking. The only other contributors in the much reduced game-week was Coleman’s clean sheet and Siggy’s assist and 2bps. Everyone else was 2,1 or 0 in Amat’s case! Phillips didn’t turn up and Llorente cried off just before half time. West Ham shared 5 goals with Bournemouth with Carroll doing nothing. Useless prick. Anyway, we saw a green arrow, climbing 5,841 places to 45,619. Our transfer this week is: Selling Phil...[Read More]
Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 29 Welcome to Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 29. No Cup distractions this weekend, no teams blanking, it’s back to basics, the super ten, a proper two-day game-week. We kick off Saturday lunchtime as Arsene’s flops go to the flip flop wearing Baggies in a match the Gooners will feel they will need to win to keep alive their top four ambitions. Five matches follow at 3pm – Palace host Watford, Hull go to face the gauntlet of Lukaku’s and Everton’s home form, Chelsea can put more daylight between them and their nearest challengers as they go to Stoke, if you’re still awake then prepare to sleep as Sunderland face Burnley in a bore-off special and in-form(ish) Leicester go to out of form (ish) West Ham. O...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 29 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 29. Over the past five game-weeks we’ve navigated our way through our first blanks and doubles of the season, a period when those who planned accordingly will have reaped the benefits. Forget that, there was as much luck as planning involved. Personally, I was lucky enough to bring in Josh King last week but the only reason I brought him in was because Phillips was ruled out. So, a big thanks to Matty Phillips and his hamstrings. So, we’re now left with 10 game-weeks and we’re split into two camps, those with and those without a wildcard. I’m not going to argue the merits of when the best time to use the wildcard is but one thing in favour of those with wildcard is that it means there is less planning i...[Read More]
FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 29 Welcome to FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 29. Did you all enjoy your four games last weekend? How much fun was that to have so many blank spots in your roster? And in typical FPL fashion, nothing worked out like we thought it should. But one brave soul out there put the screws to the game in his own unique way: the ‘highest’ score over the weekend scored 115 points, took a -52 to do so…and played his bench boost. See? That’s living, folks. Say what you will about how stupid that move is, but that football fan had fun this weekend. But we can finally start to get things back to normal now, and I think that’s a welcome change. All teams are back in action, we actually have some games that you’d want to sit down and watch, and we can start to forget abo...[Read More]
Live Match Chat Gameweek 28 FPL News Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 28 FPL News: Or at least what there is left of it! If ever there was a definition of a ‘blank’ game-week then maybe this is it. There are just 4 games this week. And just two of the current top seven feature. That’s not to say that the weekend if irrelevant of course, as the rubbish teams can still score you some points, but in all honesty if you can still get excited about this lot then we doff our caps to you as a hardcore fantasy manager. As for the action itself then there are three games at 3pm on Saturday – Bournemouth will be looking to turn their Old Trafford resilience into something more tangible, and arrest their current slide, with what would be their first victory in 2017 as they w...[Read More]
Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 28 Welcome to Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 28. Small is beautiful they say – and there is some truth to that. Remember Michael Owen bursting through the Argentian defence. Or Kylie parading that little white dress in Can’t Get You Out Of My Head. Or for you ladies, Tom Cruise in Top Gun. It’s not the size that matters, it’s how you use it, they also say – and there is definitely some truth in that. Which leads us beautifully into our GW28 preview. It’s a game-week with a difference – just four fixtures await us due to the FA Cup Quarter-finals. So should we expect an average score 40% of the usual size? Should we attack the game-week or resist changes and hope for a low average? Now where is th...[Read More]
Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 28 Welcome to the Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 28. Hmmmm, well the score was ok and I guess that’s all that matters! In financial terms it would be called a “low quality beat” as 54 of our 69 points came from three players – namely Sadio Mane’s goal and assist vs Arsenal, Erik Pieters’ unexpected two clean sheets and Sergio Aguero’s triple captain score of 27. We felt let down by Kun to be honest, it could have been so much better, especially in the Sunderland match. All in all it was ok and a 69 is always welcome. Sadly the other 8 idiots were a complete shambles – Sterling didn’t even bother turning up for the 2nd half of the DGW, Ibra started the ball rolling with a missed penalty an...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 28 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 28. Combinations can sometimes conjure up the most unique and magical fusions, take Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole (treble winning strike partnership); Morecambe and Wise (timeless comedy duo); Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers (iconic dance partners) and an ice cream cone strategically placed on a donkey (unicorn). Alternatively, an unexpectedly gruesome hybrid can be produced from merging two otherwise great things together; like Star Wars and Samuel L. Jackson. This all brings me rather unsteadily to present you this haphazard homogenization of the Captain Picks and Tips articles, which I’m unofficially calling Cat Pain Tips*. But first let’s look at the 4 fixtures on offer: BO...[Read More]
Live Match Chat Gameweek 27 FPL News Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 27 FPL News: We are off!! Can you say goal-fest? Well, that is what managers who are backing Ibra and the newly minted Mickey Mouse Cup champions are hoping for, when United host the shambolic defending of the Cherries. After United put 5 on Bournemouth in the lunch time kick-off, we see five 3pm fixtures follow that. Leicester won’t have it as easy as they did last week vs LFC as they face Hull this week, Stoke and Boro match up in a fixture that a sadist might make someone watch. If that last fixture isn’t enough to bore someone to death, perhaps Swans vs Burnley on tape delay? If you have enough time, make sure to also check out Watford take on the Saints and The Baggies square off against Palace. That ...[Read More]
Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 27 Welcome to Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 27. Earlier than expected but the first double game-week of the season is upon us as Stoke and Man City are both at the double. Of course, one of these is more interesting than the other – but I wouldn’t write off City so easily 😉 . This obviously means an extended game-week lasting from Saturday lunchtime through to Wednesday evening with only Tuesday as a rest day. It’s City’s neighbours Man Utd who kick start proceedings as they welcome Bournemouth, before five 3pm matches follow – Hull visit Leicester, Stoke start their double as they host Middlesbrough, travel sick Burnley go to Swansea, Watford and Southampton face off and two of England’s finest do ba...[Read More]
