FF247 Site Team News GW3 “Boast like hell” Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW3 They say that karma is a… well.. you know the rest, and after our barnstorming season that ended in the summer, it was a stuttered start with 48 points – nine below the average. Here we go, we all thought, this is what happens – something will find a way of bringing you back down to reality. Well, karma, you can stay away for longer because we were among those “jammy enough” (see the fallout on X, or Twitter, for further details) to triple captain Haaland and end up with a fantastic score of 103! Hello 100 Club! The Man City number 9 turned out to be an utter HaaLAD, as we believe the youth would say, scoring 17 which automatically turned to a fantastic 51. Sure, that means t...[Read More]

FPL Captain Picks GW3 And the winner last week was of course… anybody who chanced the Triple Captain chip on Erling. 51 points if you did so, and you can happily chalk that off as a successful use of that particular chip for the season. After all, enough of us remember such DGW disasters as Kane with an assist, etc. The (only) downside there was that nearly everyone else captained him too, so just a 17 point jump start there. Whilst GW2 looked fairly obvious in the armband respect, GW3 looks less so. As such we have wheeled our team out to purvey the options for you. Off we go… Loud Atlas — Bukayo Saka v Brighton & Hove Albion No spoilers or anything, and sorry to disappoint, but Saka is going to be my vice captain this week. Yes, I can’t even persuade myself to look ...[Read More]
Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW3 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW3. Another week in the books and one that saw plenty goals in GW2. Thankfully we still haven’t witnessed a 0-0 result this season and in fact the only draw of the gameweek was the 1-1 draw of Bournemouth and Newcastle, and even that had a winner controversially ruled out! It was a case of copy and paste for Liverpool and Arsenal as they ran out 2-0 winners once more in their respective games. There were big wins for Man City, Spurs and Chelsea with 4-1, 4-0 and 2-6 wins. Not only were there plenty goals in the league there was plenty points in H&L with 24 managers getting double digit points out of the 54 participants. Of those 54, 12 got the FGS correct this week as Danny Welbeck poked home...[Read More]

Home advantage is a cornerstone of football that significantly influences match outcomes and team performance. This phenomenon, where teams often fare better at their own ground, stems from a combination of multiplier factors. Today, we are going to take a look at some of these factors, exploring what makes home advantage is so prevalent in even the highest level of football. How Does Home Advantage Affect The Game In this section, we are going to take a look at how the stadium in which a game of football is being played can affect the players and overall team performance. Historically The concept of home advantage in football has been around since the earliest recordings of the sport and, to this day, still plays a major part in the results of football. The first-ever World Cup, for examp...[Read More]
FF247 Site Team News GW2 Can we get a do-over? Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW2 Well, the season starts here… or next week… or whenever we get above the average score! We didn’t get off to the best start in gameweek 1 as we scored 9 points below the average score getting 48 points. It could have been worse atleast we did have some players who returned just not more than the ones we didn’t own. No Saka, Havertz or Salah in our team so that was a bit of a spanking alright. The brilliance of the Premier League referee was on full show to chalk out a wonder goal by Eze who also had an assist ruled out for offside (correctly). Gordon and our captain, Isak, were both screwed over by the theatrics of Brereton Diaz. The man doesn’t know if he’s English or Chilean ...[Read More]

FPL Tips GW2 Welcome to FPL Tips GW2 Rather than come at you with a whole list of players that you should suddenly pick up, after just the sample size of one GW, we have decided to offer up some quick-fire observations from the past weekend. More food for thought than anything else, really. More to discourage knee-jerk reactions than anything else, truth be told. We will then take a look at the FPL Team of the Week, in a similarly contemplative light. Talking of ‘knee-jerk’ we shall then look at the transfers in and out so far this week. WE shall then touch on Captain options ahead of GW2. GW1 Musings In Defence… Six of the ten games in GW1 produced a clean-sheet. Which is actually relatively high. Or it feels like it is anyway, sans any stats to actually back that up. So...[Read More]
Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW2 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW2. We are back and had some nice results in GW1. No massive shocks. Liverpool won easily, Haaland did what he usually does and scored to help City win over Chelsea. Spurs ended the gameweek by being properly roasted by the veteran Jamie Vardy who subtlety reminded them they have won nothing! We had a great turn out of 52 entries in GW1 and a wide spread of results ranging from 1 pt to the winning 15 pts. That is fantastic to see and it’s not too late to join now for the overall table! Nobody correctly guessed that new boy Joshua Zirkzee would be the FGS in GW1 but one sole man deserves a shout out, Swirly, was only one minute away from the correct time but did not get the name right. Now onto the...[Read More]

FF247 Site Team News GW1 Our 2023/24 Overall Rank and Recent History This time last year I was writing about how our 2022/23 season did not go to plan and how we finished just inside the 300k mark – we weren’t happy about it and boy, did we improve! We not only got back to a 5 digit rank but we had our best ever season and rank by finishing a fantastic 4,238. That is our 3rd time with a four digit finish so hopefully we can emulate that this season and go for our first three digit finish! We won’t get greedy and ask for top spot just yet! Initial set up Let’s tell you a bit about how we went about selecting our team. We started off simple – by owning all the players we wanted and not even looking at prices. The team was stacked! Palmer, Salah, Saka, Haaland, W...[Read More]
