Euro 2016 Fantasy Football Live Match Chat – The Knockout Phase
Just as the UK votes on a possible Brexit, the group stages at Euro 2016 have been completed with some unfortunates already on their way home, while all the Home Nations secured to Remain for a while longer as England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland all qualified for the round of 16. You will notice a few changes to the fantasy game, so please allow us to run you through them so you are fully up-to-speed.
Price changes – some players price has increased, but only by a minimal amount it would appear. For example Dimitri Payet’s price has risen from 8.0mln to 8.1mln!! So, nothing to get too worried about.
As a result, your budget has increased by 5mln to 105mln, which not only reflects the price changes but also the fact that most of the smaller teams and cheaper players are no longer available due to them being knocked out, hence there are less budget options available.
Transfers – for this round you have an unlimited amount of transfers. For the quarter-finals you will have 4 free transfers, for the semi-finals you will have 6 free transfers and for the final you will have 6 free transfers.
Team personnel – you can now select four players from a single team for the round of 16, followed by five players for the quarter-finals, six for the semi-finals and eight for the final.

What a shambles!!! Iceland beat England easily. SACK HODGSON NOW. Liverpool did so England must do the same.
We have just witnessed the worse performance by any team ever & if Hodgson & the players aren’t ashamed of themselves there is something wrong, f– I’m Pi–ed off
Annnd cue the bad Brexit jokes in the papers. Condolences to the England supporters on the boards, I just caught the last 35 minutes from work but it looked pretty dire.
Howdy Red, hope all ok matey – how you enjoying the fantasy-free life?
Don’t worry about condolences, I for one found it hilarious!!
Hey Cookie, how’s your off season going? You getting the cricket games in or what?? Things are well here, enjoying the summer and not waking up at 6:00am my time to change my captain last minute! It’s been fun watching the Copa and the Euros, think my money’s on Italy now if they keep playing like they did today!
Red, no cricket fantasy this summer as they chose not to run it – I’m gutted as is Kop. Saying that I’m enjoying the Euro game more than I thought I would – probably as I’m not taking it too seriously – maybe that’s a good lesson!!
Glad you’re well mate – I’m missing our Friday afternoon/evening chats – but fear not it’ll be that time again soon!!
Nice one Cookie, glad you guys are having fun with the Euro fantasy stuff. Probably a lot nicer without that Friday article deadline looming every week I bet! You’re right, it won’t be long now until we’re right back in the thick of it though. We’re actually moving this summer and I’m literally planning it so that we’re in the new place and have the TVs and internet all set before the season kicks off. Arranging a big move like that to fit in with fantasy season probably sounds crazy to most people, but I think people here can probably relate, ha!
Great to hear from you man. Hope you enjoy the rest of the tournament, looking forward to FPL soon!
I don’t think many of us are particularly sad or indeed surprised. Apart from Andy! He’s a bit more patriotic than Cookie and I are I think
Hey Init, how’s it going? Who are you liking to win this thing? Italy looked excellent today IMO.
Good thanks Red. I still fancy Germany myself. Belgium have looked good also and Hazard has suddenly decided to start playing again so I think they’ll have a great chance of getting to the final from the other side of the draw.
You’ve gotta laugh really. At least Wales are still in as someone to follow / support. And Germany of course
On a side note I just retweeted their official accounts tweet and noticed that they’re so small a nation I personally have more twitter followers than them! #FFS England :see-no:
I’ll be laughing if Southgate gets the job
Don’t think it matters Kop in all honesty. I don’t know how much you can actually lay that at Roy’s door this evening. I know you don’t like him but the players need to take that one. To a man they were poor. Rashford and Vardy aside, to be fair.
I’d agree with that but I just can’t imagine Roy said anything inspiring at half-time.
Nope. I’d agree with that as well. Lacks passion you’d suspect. Too measured and calm all the time which is fine but sometimes things just need throwing. Fergie had both in the locker. Hmmm, Fergie…. He’s not too busy right now is he.
He’d certainly throw something if it needed throwing
step up Lord Pardew
I’ll wait until I’ve finished crying before I start laughing, might take a while to get over this one, i’ll be back again for EPL me thinks.
Hey Init
Even after the Welsh team going crazy tonight at full time?
Supporters fair enough but the team I thought was well over the score.
Nothing wrong with that to my mind, fair play. Passionate to the end as they’ve said all along. Yeah I’ll still root for them. Slightly less than Germany but definitely my second team. No idea what I’ll do in the final!
Happy for Iceland, coming from a small country myself I know what a great accomplishment they achieved. There cinderella run continues. As for England, they were really poor, remind me of Man Utd last season, tactics was and formation was really poor.
Damn, yall taking the Brexit a tat too serious? I mean I know you are leaving the Euro bu htdid you have to leave the Euros?
On that note, well done Iceland. This doesn’t come as a surprise at all, they are well trained and setup awesome. ^_^
