Euro 2016 Fantasy Football Live Match Chat – The Knockout Phase

Euro 2016 Fantasy FootballJust as the UK votes on a possible Brexit, the group stages at Euro 2016 have been completed with some unfortunates already on their way home, while all the Home Nations secured to Remain for a while longer as England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland all qualified for the round of 16. You will notice a few changes to the fantasy game, so please allow us to run you through them so you are fully up-to-speed.
Price changes – some players price has increased, but only by a minimal amount it would appear. For example Dimitri Payet’s price has risen from 8.0mln to 8.1mln!! So, nothing to get too worried about.
As a result, your budget has increased by 5mln to 105mln, which not only reflects the price changes but also the fact that most of the smaller teams and cheaper players are no longer available due to them being knocked out, hence there are less budget options available.

Transfers – for this round you have an unlimited amount of transfers. For the quarter-finals you will have 4 free transfers, for the semi-finals you will have 6 free transfers and for the final you will have 6 free transfers.

Team personnel – you can now select four players from a single team for the round of 16, followed by five players for the quarter-finals, six for the semi-finals and eight for the final.

Thoughts? I was pretty disappointed with Ronnie until yesterday so I think i’ll give him another shot, Nani would be a good shout to free up some cash but I don’t see the need for it? I expect the Italy Spain match to be a tight game so I’m thinking one of each will be enough? Bale + Ramsey have been doing good and against NIR they should be able to continue their form – hopefully! Lukaku is ready to score some goals and Hungary have a leaky defense. My only concern is Sommer and Jedrzejczyk any suggestions?

    So what should I do?

Not much faith, if any, in Belgium or Spain then?

      • gunners says:

Not any in Belgium worth the money. I would have gone with Morata but wanted to give Ronaldo a shot for the first time before Croatia knock them out!

Looks good mate. Anyone you can switch Sommer to? Although I know you do have a soft spot for him now! Not going Giroud myself I think that’ll be a tight game. Probably go Lukaku or Milik instead, I like their games better. Keep hearing Poland have been poor though and it’s one team I’ve not seen yet. All I know is that every time I threw the commentary on Milik was mentioned. Granted it was usually for missing another chance! But that’s still encouraging in its own way I suppose.

I was looking at another GK as both mine play on Saturday. Any ideas?

Going with Giroud sorely as he’s Arsenal. Can’t help my bias 😉

        • inittowinit says:

How about the Welsh and England combo then? I’d say both have a high probability of a CS in those games. Welsh more so slightly and they’re first anyway.

Anyone know if howedes was dropped or just rested for the last game?

Is it just safer to go with hector.

    Choice are

    A- hector, blaszczykowski, lukaku
    B- howedes, hazard, milik.

    Thoughts anyone

Hey gang, just to share something I bumped into and that might help assess who’s likely to play on the last 16. On the uefa site if you hit on the “teams” link (this one: http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro/season=2016/teams/index.html) it shows the status of each player in what regards likelyhood to start and whether they trained or not in the day. I don’t know how accurate this is though so proceed with caution.
