Euro 2016 Fantasy Football Live Match Chat – The Knockout Phase

Euro 2016 Fantasy FootballJust as the UK votes on a possible Brexit, the group stages at Euro 2016 have been completed with some unfortunates already on their way home, while all the Home Nations secured to Remain for a while longer as England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland all qualified for the round of 16. You will notice a few changes to the fantasy game, so please allow us to run you through them so you are fully up-to-speed.
Price changes – some players price has increased, but only by a minimal amount it would appear. For example Dimitri Payet’s price has risen from 8.0mln to 8.1mln!! So, nothing to get too worried about.
As a result, your budget has increased by 5mln to 105mln, which not only reflects the price changes but also the fact that most of the smaller teams and cheaper players are no longer available due to them being knocked out, hence there are less budget options available.

Transfers – for this round you have an unlimited amount of transfers. For the quarter-finals you will have 4 free transfers, for the semi-finals you will have 6 free transfers and for the final you will have 6 free transfers.

Team personnel – you can now select four players from a single team for the round of 16, followed by five players for the quarter-finals, six for the semi-finals and eight for the final.

Just wanted to share this picture to maybe settle any of the tension that has risen on the site since the start of this match. I don’t want to get involved in anything as everyone has different opinions and we all may disagree or agree. I will be the first to admit I wanted to see Ronaldo in tears at the end of the game but I wanted it to be over him losing the game. I think he’s a great player and there is no denying that fact, I just don’t like the guy. I feel bad he went off on a stretcher and wasn’t able to represent his team fully in one of the biggest games of his career but as you can see in the picture his knee has bent awkwardly so I would say he could have anything from ligament damage to a badly bruised knee. That’s all I’ll say so I’ll leave it at that.

I’d like to be the first to say congrats to Portugal truly it’s the year of the underdog!

      Raziel says:

Hey! I was the first. :p

And still Ronaldo celebrating like it’s all about him. 😉

Anyway, I know the Portugese people are crazy about football, they eat, breathe and sleep it. So happy for them. laugh

      • MattX says:

Haha sorry Raz laugh yeah I wanted France to win but really I would have been satisfied with either team! All I really want is passion in the game and I think we seen that at the final whistle so at the end of the day it’s all good smile

        • Raziel says:

Well, the French are quite arrogant. Ronaldo sort of invented how to be arrogant.Once Ronaldo was out, I was for Portugal. HAHA!

        • Raziel says:

By the way, keep in mind. Ronaldo is now celebrating extra because he has one on Messi. Messi never won anything with his country, Ronaldo now has.

        • Raziel says:

Lol Ronaldo only played 25 minutes this game, he was pretty shitty all tournament. But he doesn’t give the cup away to his teammates. Terrible. HAHA! OMG! So bad.

        • MattX says:

Yeah that’s the reason I don’t like Ronaldo is his arrogance but when you’re that good I suppose a bit of arrogance is expected. I think that was one of the biggest things for Ronaldo in that he wanted to have that one thing Messi didn’t and now he does so he’s probably well happy now. laugh

        • Raziel says:

Yeah, lol. I have noticed people that really don’t watch football, disliking Ronaldo after the Iceland match. HAHA! Was hilarious.

On that note, I am not a big fan of Messi either. Like the favorite pet of the schoolteacher. I like a badass like Ibra, will be hard for me to watch him play for United, this season. :p

Anyway, the Portugese people deserve this. Don’t know if you have ever been there during a Worldcup or the Euros, but they are football crazy on another level.

        • MattX says:

Yeah I get what you mean my favourite player is Suarez and we all know he likes the odd nibble to show how bad he is laugh haha

I never have been to a Portuguese match but from your description I’d love to go to one, thankfully I’ve been to many Irish games and I think that is the best atmosphere and best fun you can have so if the Portuguese are similar to that then I can start to imagine the atmosphere. smile

        • Raziel says:

Not just the atmosphere in the stadiums, I actually meant the athmosphere in the country and the city. Restaurants, horeca and everything.

        • MattX says:

Ah right well that’s even better I love when you can feel the excitement in the air. I remember when the rugby world cup was on in England and I went over to one of the Irish games but when walking through the streets you wouldn’t have thought England were the hosts then you would meet the Irish and suddenly you felt like there was a major tournament on!! laugh

    Tekno-kun says:

Quite fitting that Portugal wins the tournament if you ask me. A team with lackluster performances winning a lackluster tournament. Would have been too cliche if France won. Congratulations to Ronaldo, Portugal, and all Portuguese people on here!

If anyone wants to start taking about injuries again, I just started watching the MLS match and a player has just been subbed off after 32 seconds with an injury!! ….. so GO!!! laugh

Yes Portugal won, well deserved! Happy for Ronaldo and the boys. I will be honest I didn’t think Portugal could win and especially when Ronaldo went off but France didn’t take their chances and Portugal defended astutely and took their chance
