Fantasy Football 247 at the Football Blog Awards. Last chance to vote!

Fantasy Football 247 at the Football Blog AwardsAs we are sure you are by now aware FF247 have been shortlisted as a finalist for the Best FPL Football Blog Awards (FBA). The finals take place on November 13th at the National Football Museum in Manchester. Voting closes this Friday and it is a close run thing so far so this is our last plea for more votes! We would dearly love to bring home an award for you all as a thank you for your following and dedication. We are under no illusions that the competition is strong and we are honoured to have even made it this far in our first year but with your help you just never know. Details of how to vote follow below and the main message here is that if you have already voted in the first round of voting you need to do so again as votes were reset for the finals.

[clear]

tweetvoteWe would like to thank all our members for being such a huge part of the site – without you we are nothing. We have always aimed to make FF247 a community site, a fun site as well, of course, and an essential all round tool for FPL managers. It is your involvement, comments, banter and engagement that ultimately has pushed FF247 into the realms of being nominated for awards such as this.

So we thank you deeply and look forward to a bigger, better, funnier future together!
Finally, we would like to ask that you vote for us in the hope that little old FF247 may just upset some of the more established names that we are up against. Clearly our age will not make it easy for us to win against other sites that have been around for years, but you know us, we’ll give it a go. Every vote counts.

Voting is very straightforward – all you need to is click on the link below, either taking you to the FBA site or through the twitter button.
In case you’re thinking, “I’ve already voted”, then firstly thanks, it’s your votes that have been responsible for us being nominated but as we say that was for the first round so please make sure you vote again.

If you’re on twitter, then this is the most simple method.

Voting via the FBA site link involves about about two minutes more of your time! Just click this link (or the red ‘tweet your vote’ button above), enter your details and under “categories”, click the FPL drop down menu and you will see Fantasy Football 247 appear. Simply highlight us and click “Vote Now” – you will be sent an email which you will need to confirm your vote.

The FF247 team will be attending the event itself and we will be sure to post pics on here and via twitter of what will surely be a fantastic night out regardless of the results! Tickets are on general sale as well so if anyone fancies it please feel free to come but be sure to let us know so that so we can include you in our party!

Thanks again for your time, patience and support!

All at Fantasy Football 247.

It will be damage control though, I will end up with 602 points once Dummett comes from bench. At the moment 5,452, tomorrow I expect to be in the top 5k and maybe top 4k. My team still stands strong and there is no need to use a wildcard.

      • Mr Bean says:

        Raz, teach me your ways!

I get one red arrow and i think immediately about using my wildcard. Have considered all of Sanchez, Walcott, Downing, Chadli, Tadic, Hazard as possible moves today but thinking about it, most of them are just chasing points which i’ve already missed out on.

Aguero is my problem now, i really need him in soon but have to rely on QPR at Loftus Road to keep me uo in the top 5k sad

Just keep your calm and collective. Bandwagons have paid off the last couple of weeks. We already had superb teams so we didn’t need that much adjusting. In all honesty our teams have been quite unlucky. Still we managed to get some good points.

Few weeks back was my biggest regret when I didn’t go with my gut. My gut was telling me to take an 8 point hit for Tadic and Kun… arghhhhhhhh…. I’d be 50 points further now (around 652-ish) if I just did that. Hahaha. Probably more.

You’re not doing bad at all. Think you just need to trust your current team. Also plan ahead. For instance, my plan to work in Baines worked, my plan to work in Kun worked. Just got the second 1 week too late.

Using WC on my time I would consider to be crazy. My team picked up a lot of points and I”m happy with 62. Even though I’m on red arrows it’s sort of damage control and I have a feeling my team must and will come good.

Chasing players rarely works for me. It worked for the peepz that got in Sanchez last week after he got 2 give away goals. Burnley at home isn’t the same thing as Swansea away. Everton scored in every match except in the one at Home versus Swansea. I would feel horrified if I got Sanchez for a hit, downgraded certain team members and he blanks (which could happen).

Your main problem indeed is that you don’t have Kun from what I remember. I’ll take a look at your team now.

        • Raziel says:

I sort of get why you’re worried Bean. It’s quite hard to work in Kun for you. Hmmm. Problem is that your team is too well balanced. >.<

You will need Kun that much is sure, think he's more of a must than for instance Sanchez. You could do Sterling to Downing and Pelle to Kun later? Or doesn't that free up enough?

        • Mr Bean says:

          Raz,

You have talked a lot of sense into me with that.

I frown upon bandwagons (Chester, Dier, Naismith) so it would be ridiculous for me to start chasing them now.

I have Walcott, Hazard and Aguero on my wishlist but i cannot find a front 7 that i’m happy with:

          ADM, Hazard, Walcott
          Aguero, Costa

Who to fill the last 2 spaces with while keeping Baines at the back?

        • CHILLLLSHEEE says:

Thats the thing Baines is really causing problem money wise, cuz if he wasnt so expensive everything I had plan would workout wonderfully!!!

        • Raziel says:

I can’t afford Hazard or Sanchez without dropping a class player. Players that have done enough for me and are going to be dropped are Pelle and Tadic. Pelle for Sakho (to free up some cash, move will happen during IB though, not now) and Tadic will make way for Walcott. So my midfield after International Break (if nobody picks up an injury) will be:
          Siggy-Walcott-Fabregas-DiMaria
          Kun-Costa-Sakho

Walcott is cheaper than Sanchez and for all we know he will score just as many points. His first 10 minutes yesterday looked really promising (have to keep in mind it was against Burnley though :p).

ya still have 6 from the bench to come though!!!!!

      • Raziel says:

Yeah. Still not getting Sanchez, different move on my mind. I’m gonna ditch Pelle during International Break and replace him with Sakho (has decent fixtures) and replace Tadic with Walcott. Soton have impossible fixtures from GW12-GW24 or smt.

        • hazardeden10 says:

yeah, soton hav to go- still probably gonna hold onto clyne though!!
For my primary team sanchez gets the :finger:
not really sure how I’m gonna get wally in, but thats my problem…

        • Raziel says:

Can’t work in Sanchez that’s the reason why I’m not getting him. Don’t want to replace Fab or Di Maria. And with the Sakho move I can only afford a 9.8 mid and if that’s the case Wally is the best option. Wally just played 10 minutes yesterday and I saw like 3 or 4 shots from him? Dude is going to be awesome. Also, if Sanchez let the last ball go it would’ve been a Wally goal. 😉

        • inertia says:

You are right Raz, ADM and Fab are season keepers, no need to geton the Sanchez bandwagon if it means selling either of those
