Fantasy Football 247 League Updates September
Hello everyone and welcome to the September round up of the FF247 leagues. So how did everyone do this month? Injuries were more common than a scouser in a car park and managers were dreading to be the first one to get the bullet, so lets see who managed to steer their teams through the mine field that is fantasy football and top our compliment of leagues. Any successful managers will be added to our Hall of Fame which is coming soon.
FF247 League
Top spot in this league has stayed with Tom Farmer, who was also top in August with his team ‘Blame It On Debuchy’. Tom had amassed 394 points up to the end of September and was sitting pretty in 6th overall in the world, keep up the good work Tom. (The pic above includes this weeks scores that include week 1 from October). 2nd spot goes to Gerrie Pistorius, with his team ‘Pick_And_Hope’ on 387pts, and that points haul took him to 27th in the world. A further 6pts back in 3rd with 381 is team ‘Societa Esportive77’ and owner Boblewo-Garutti Brasil, who has also stuck around in the top 5 for 2 months. 4th place goes to Jaye Williams with his team ‘FC Yayunomi’ on 379 pts. In 5th, a further 5pts back with 374,was Hammad Mudassar and his team ‘Fantastic 11’.
FF247 Manager Of The Month
Top spot for September goes to A Khan with his team ‘Disneyland’, he managed to achieve 190pts from only 3 gameweeks, this score had also propelled him to 44th in the FF247 league. Ivan Bosnjak with his team ‘Leafs FC’ pushed for top spot all the way but finished just 1pt behind to take 2nd place with 189pts. Konrad Wojtowicz and Richard Prowse came in with 187pts to tie for 3rd spec with their respective teams ‘Gooners FC’ and ‘Tinkerman United’. 5th place went to Richard Jagers team ‘Wolf Pack’ with 185pts.
FF247 Doubles League
The overall positions in this league are changing every gameweek and top spot at the end of September goes to Timmy + Cartman, alias our Colombian friend Mito + his sidekick Suarez, with their team ‘We Will Bite You’ and a respectable haul of 339pts, NZ Alex + Peaky Dave fought tooth and nail to reach 1st place but just failed finishing 2nd by 1pt on a total of 338. 3rd spot went to an unknown entity, Mr + Mrs Facepalm, with their team ‘No Hope Bob Hope’ who since the start of the season have been slowly picking up momentum to achieve 335pts. Last seasons champions Aditupem have dropped from 1st to 4th place with 330pts. In 5th spec are the up + coming FF247 article writers Calvin + Chins, they appear to have dropped off the pace a bit on 319pts with their team ‘Belly + Clyne’ but will probably blame it on their time writing superb articles rather than amassing points.
Well folks that’s it for September, so congratulations to everyone mentioned. Don’t forget there are only 3 gameweeks in October as we have another international break. Good luck to all for the next month, especially young Tom Farmer, keep the flag flying for FF247 with that high overall ranking.

Great round-up Bench, really interesting seeing all of the scores together like this instead of having to go through all of the leagues manually. Really appreciate all of the effort you put into this! Glad to be off the bottom of the table now And playing top place next – my charge up the table starts here!
I’m not glad you’re off the bottom CC! :;-):
Because I am now!!!
Such a shocking H2H season so far for me! My overall points is OK but H2H is terrible!
Yeah Nath I know that feel man. Don’t beat yourself up too much though, H2H is a lottery! Couple of weeks I would have beaten almost everyone but the opponent I ended up with, and others that won were very lucky to, so if it were all to be done again we could be sitting pretty instead. That’s what makes it fun though right
+1 very true, I can only go one way now at least haha (sorry only just seen post)
hi guys, it’s me again
Who are the top defenders to have.
this is my defence. Ivanovic, Clyne, Williams, Kolarov and Cissokho
It’s easily Baines. Everton have a good run of games after the international break and Baines is gathering assists galore already.
Hi Stewy
Baines is the most important defender to have. I prefer Bertrand over Clyne. Ivanovic is great aswell, but I’d rather get Baines. Kolarov has a powerful shot and takes some of City’s freekicks. Cheap defenders to have are, Wisdom, Moore, Taylor, Wilson.
Kolarov doesn’t get 90 minutes every week though, which is sad.
Hello everyone. Reuben, cracking season so far pal, well done! So I’m keen to get baines in, do we think he is ‘essential’ as I’m probably in a similar boat to a lot of people and it’s hard to get him in without downgrading a premium mid/forward and I’m not sure it’s worth it. Any opinions are very welcome. 0.0 in bank.
alex i think you have a cracker side so no need to make any changes, if you really want baines you may have to downgrade welback to vardy/ulloa and upgrade Pieters
Thanks cole. Appreciate that pal.
Morning Kiwi – I sold Sterling y’day in order to finance Baines. That’s my view. I wouldn’t touch your strikers mate.
Evening cooks 😉 why did you going sterling and not fab? Did you bring in one of the Southampton boys? And finally are you taking 4ph for it? Apologies for the grilling!
Kiwi, no probs….
yeah took a 4pt hit and sold Moreno, Sterling and Ulloa for Baines, Downing and Welbeck.
For the first time this season I am happy with the balance of my squad.
I think Fabregas is a season keeper mate – I don’t see Sterling in that bracket. Fabregas has quality all around him, is part of the best squad in the league, is established as a player and, as a result, in my opinion, to be more consistent than a young Sterling.
Of course, I would rather have Sterling than Downing, but it’s the sacrifice I felt right to make – Baines is THE defender to have in my view and if affordable. Lack of clean sheets thus far have kept his price low(ish) and I bet in 4GWs time after a decent run people will be clambering for him, calling him a “must have” but will need to pay +7.5mln for him.
Cooks, cheers pal an interesting evaluation that I agree with in the most part. My concern being will Everton shaw up at the back? I think so which means he does become a very important player. The way I’ve been thinking of getting him in is sterling holilett and pieters to mane Boyd and baines that would be an 8ph and leave me with nothing in the bank hence it would need to be done early like you have done. I like the look of mane but I could go chadli instead for just a 4ph. He seems to get mixed reviews on this site. What do you think mate and what was your thinking for downing?
An 8pt hit seems extreme, if I’m honest mate. I have Chadli so I’m keen on that angle. Mane seems to have a lot of potential – to get him in now may well pay off. Erring on the side of caution I think I would wait to see him actually deliver rather than look promising.
My front 8 is now:
Siggy, Chadli, Downing, Di Maria, Fabregas
Costa, Aguero, Welbeck.
My thinking on Downing was this – I now have 8 decent playing options and as the fixtures are spread over the next few weeks it’s a fairly straightforward decision on who to bench. Spoke to a Hammers fan who I work with, who has been traditionally as anti-Downing as me – and he is changing his view, said he is involved in most things going forward, on corners, some free kicks and is playing really well. So he is in as my 5th mid – I’m not sure I’d want him as my 4th midfield.
I actually also considered Lampard, who I really like – but just felt Downing is at least assured of a start.
Cooks, so you plan to rotate chadli, welbeck and downing? It’s a very good idea to have a cheaper 4/5mid that you are happy to change. Personally I’m happy with the rest of my mid so will leave as is. That leaves me a not so simple decision; is baines worth losing sterling for? Cheers for the input pal, plenty of food for thought.
No Alex, predominantly i’ll rotate Chadli and Downing. Though I could also bench Di Maria when Utd play Chelsea and City if I fancy it. I see no reason to bench Welbeck now they have got the Chelsea game out of the way.
Thanks cookie my friend, I’ll be thinking more about all we have talked on in the morning. Laters.
Laters mate, sleep well, hope the mrs is ok!
Well most of these convo’s end in the downgrading of Fabregas or Sterling. In your case I would downgrade Fabregas to Chadli/Tadic/Downing. That’s just from looking at Pool’s and Chelsea’s fixtures. Also I prefer Sterling.
If you want to do it without touching any premium players, then you’d have to use an additional transfer.
Welbeck -> Sakho +1.8
Chambers -> Wisdom +0.5
Pieters -> Baines -2.1
That’s if you don’t count Welbeck as a prem player.
Thanks for your input Reuben, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to downgrad the forwards but with your very good suggestion I realised I don’t.
Alex – No worries mate. Good luck with your decisions.
Reuben, what are your thoughts on the suggestions I just gave to cookie above for a points hit to get baines in? Thanks again pal.
Alex
Morning pal. I don’t think Baines is essential.
I was planning on bringing him in for a week or two but don’t like downgrading any of my mids or forwards.
Kolarov now in my sights.
Hello GP, how’s things pal? I hear you. I’m pretty happy with my team and it would mean major surgery. This said, I do like the look of baines. I watched him closely and he is involved in most things Everton. Tricky. Kolarov is an iteresting call but doesn’t seem nailed on. Surly not worry the risk is he?
Alex
Things good thank you.
I think he is worth the punt. Like Baines at Everton, he is involved in most attacks on the left at City and his crossing is usually first class. I also know he is a back-up penalty taker as well so that sweetens the deal.
I’ve accepted he will miss the occasional game and I have back up in place for this eventuality.
GP – he also takes some of their freekicks.
Ruben
Of course, well said. I should also mention that City have some games ahead where I would expect some clean sheets.
Gp, I’m not sure I can justify that sort of outlay on someone who may get 10 minutes but love the risk you are prepared to take. I meant to ask you the other day, how’s the little one? Our second is due any day now….
Alex
That’s the chance I would take. Still in consideration period.
He’s fine pal. Starting to sleep a bit better at night which is the main thing. 7 weeks old today!
Hoping all goes well for you mate.
Cheers GP. 7 weeks, man time flys!
GP – Aw that’s precious.
i can’t afforded Baines Ant0800
Yes you can, Ivanovic out -> Baines in.
