Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 16
Welcome to the Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 16 article. Well, that didn’t go as planned. We had 8 guys earn 5 points or less this gameweek, that is usually not a recipe for success. However not everything was gloom and despair as among all the crappiness there was some FPL heroes that came to at least save us from total disaster. With the likes of Alexis, Kane, Firmino, Pedro, Walker and Cech one would not expect to be turning to a Swan and Hornet defender for the points. Amat and Holebas did what they could for us and rescued our dignity. Well them and The Prince of Darkness Diego Costa. Because with a bunch of misses everywhere on the team we did manage to captain our highest scorer. So thank you Prince Diego and our two defenders who we will call Am-A-Ho. What you say? Are you? Didn’t know, but we won’t judge. Anyway our score of 47 put us in the 2 million average in terms of GW score and even though the FF247 Community team would be ecstatic if they consistently scored that, we need to do better. We dropped to 48k in the overall for a loss of 14K. But nothing better than a quick turnaround after a tough week, so with that let us get onto our transfers for this new gameweek.
Transfer(s) – Sold Ilkay Gündogan and bought Gylfi Sigurdsson
Transfer Reasoning…
No real mystery here in the sale or the buy really. Gundogan has been firing blanks ever since we brought him in on top of the rotation risk he has come under in the last couple of weeks. Siggy has scored 5 or more points in five of his last six and his next five fixtures look like an opportunity to keep on keeping on. As many know December offers a lot of opportunities for managers to use all their cuss words. Because as we all know some rotation will kick in. We think/hope Siggy will play straight through, if for no other reason that Swansea are in a battle for their Premier life and he is their best/only decent player. So in Siggy we trust…
THE NEW TEAM IN FULL FOR Gameweek 16
Our Captain is… Harry Kane
It was mostly unanimous on this one, but Prince Diego did get a vote. Both have great fixtures so either could have been justified. Think in the end the venue tilted the scales a bit in favour of Kane. Plus a quick glance at the season shows us that Hull has taken in the most goals including an incredible 9 goals allowed between the Bournemouth and Sunderland games. So if those two teams can embarrass you, we are hoping Spurs can take out their frustrations on them also. Perhaps another beat down is in the cards, similar to when they hammered Swansea after the CFC loss. Hull you are up and Kane is ready to bring in a double digit haul.
If anyone is interested in following the site teams progress then you can do so here and we wish you all the best of luck this week with your own teams.
Looks ok?
0-0 in the Stoke Southampton match would be a touch for you Allan!!
Looks good mate
Could work out, you seen Saints scoring record? I didn’t realise it was that bad. They are 2nd worst in the league only 1 goal ahead of Boro and tied with Sunderland and Hull. What the hell was I thinking when I bought Austin.
It’s alright, he injured himself to make your decision of taking him out easier.
I know, I sent him a Christmas card.
Nice gesture, he’ll appreciate that.
Hey all – already have Cookie’s thoughts, but wondered if I could have some other options from you wise lot..! Getting hammered in my mini league and need a few sensible decisions…! 0.1ITB and 1FT. Thanks!
Starting Fletcher? Find someone to play instead of him. Only play him if you can’t play anyone else. I was lucky enough 2 gw’s ago to have him during an AOA chip and he scored. That shit however is rare. On that note, week after he also got an assist, haha. Funny player. Anyway, he’s third on my bench like 9 out of the 10 times.
zar3uk – As Raz has already highlighted I wouldn’t feel comfortable playing Fletcher every week! Obviously you’ll need to free up some cash to upgrade him.
To free up cash you could downgrade Cech or switch Firmino to Lallana.
You also need to do something about Watson & Collins as you’ll need a full squad over the coming game-weeks.
How does my squad look? Since I did Redmond to Eriksen expect Redmond to get a big score. HAHA! Anyway, 0 fts, is it looking good enough? I know, no high profile defenders. 😉
Hey mate.
The kind of season it has been you will not be hurt fit not having big defenders.
Great to go
Plus you are already in a great position overall without them
Keep up the good work
Good luck for the week
Thanks mate. YOu reckon I should play Holebas over any of the current defenders I have?
He has no cs potential but he has got corners and free kicks versus shaky City. When I say shaky I just know they won’t concede this time around, lol.
It’s Smith vs Holebas i thnk and I would play Holebas
Smith however also has 3 assists. Both are players I like because of this reason. THat’s why I don’t have high profile defenders, I choose the cheaper alternatives that still have the potential to assist or even score. HIgh profile defenders have many more cleansheets.
Holebas poses a great threat. Not sure that he would come before these three for this week
If there had to be any it would have been Smith.
He has lost his influence. But Leicester are leaky and Bournemouth are scoring
Keep Holebas in the bench
Anyway, Leicester in current form after the last weekend will def. score. So Holebas must be the one. Both will concede, Watford probably more goals but Holebas has a higher chance of actually assisting. Arrgh, this is a hard one.
Holebas is bound to pick up a yellow card!
Oooh from colour scheme point of view, playing Holebas central,, really works and makes a better picture.
Damn Kop. Why you have to ruin it?
I just flipped a coin and Smith won.
Sorry Raz
Good to go and save the FT?
0.8ITB
Either that or do Anichebe to someone. But you can safe, yes. Team looks good. Great actually, better than mine.
Cheers mate
Anichebe can be upgraded only to a 5.4mn forward. U reckereckon there is any better option in that range? 😉
Looks good to go – save the FT!
Cheers Swirly. Good luck for the week
You too, mate
Does Phil Jones in for Williams make sense? Jones may rise tonight and Williams may drop.
Hmmmm
Tough one mate. With Bailly back can’t say for sure if Jones is sure to start
I agree. Is it worth taking a punt on a West Ham defender, considering this and their next fixture (Hull)? I appreciate they’ve not got the best form, but you never know with those games.
I dropped Williams -so fast- because of Everton being so poor. If Jones / United is where you have faith, then it makes sense.
Yeah it’s tough. I think Jones might be first choice at the moment. I think Rojo is more likely to be dropped plus Bailly will be on his way to African nations soon
REPOST:
Hey guys;
Foster, Pickford
Kosceilny, Luiz, McAuley, Smith, Amat
Hazard, Sanchez, Firmino, Barry, Allen
Costa, Iheanacho, Defoe
2.7 ITB, 1 FT
I’m looking at Defoe + Firmino -> Kane + Lallana (-4).. Thoughts? Suggestions?
I’d downgrade Kos to what you can afford to do the Defoe > Kane switch, if I’m honest. No reason why Firmino couldn’t get something away at Middlesbrough this gameweek.
I’ve got about 5.3 for a defender then. Any real suggestions?
Daniels, Pieters, Reid or Bailly could do you well
Actually, ignore the Bailly call because of the African Cup of Nations.
5.3 is a middle ground, not enough for the top defenders and more than you need for cheap starting ones. I would just buy a starting cheap one and bank the money, but if you want to take a chance and try a punt on one, looking at fixtures, you could go for Jones and hope he plays through or consider a Hammer and hope that the teams they play overrides their shittiness on defence.
Indeed. I’m never certain with Jones, he could play or he could disappear! He seems the best bet, considering fixtures and price.
