Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 16
Welcome to the Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 16 article. Well, that didn’t go as planned. We had 8 guys earn 5 points or less this gameweek, that is usually not a recipe for success. However not everything was gloom and despair as among all the crappiness there was some FPL heroes that came to at least save us from total disaster. With the likes of Alexis, Kane, Firmino, Pedro, Walker and Cech one would not expect to be turning to a Swan and Hornet defender for the points. Amat and Holebas did what they could for us and rescued our dignity. Well them and The Prince of Darkness Diego Costa. Because with a bunch of misses everywhere on the team we did manage to captain our highest scorer. So thank you Prince Diego and our two defenders who we will call Am-A-Ho. What you say? Are you? Didn’t know, but we won’t judge. Anyway our score of 47 put us in the 2 million average in terms of GW score and even though the FF247 Community team would be ecstatic if they consistently scored that, we need to do better. We dropped to 48k in the overall for a loss of 14K. But nothing better than a quick turnaround after a tough week, so with that let us get onto our transfers for this new gameweek.
Transfer(s) – Sold Ilkay Gündogan and bought Gylfi Sigurdsson
Transfer Reasoning…
No real mystery here in the sale or the buy really. Gundogan has been firing blanks ever since we brought him in on top of the rotation risk he has come under in the last couple of weeks. Siggy has scored 5 or more points in five of his last six and his next five fixtures look like an opportunity to keep on keeping on. As many know December offers a lot of opportunities for managers to use all their cuss words. Because as we all know some rotation will kick in. We think/hope Siggy will play straight through, if for no other reason that Swansea are in a battle for their Premier life and he is their best/only decent player. So in Siggy we trust…
THE NEW TEAM IN FULL FOR Gameweek 16
Our Captain is… Harry Kane
It was mostly unanimous on this one, but Prince Diego did get a vote. Both have great fixtures so either could have been justified. Think in the end the venue tilted the scales a bit in favour of Kane. Plus a quick glance at the season shows us that Hull has taken in the most goals including an incredible 9 goals allowed between the Bournemouth and Sunderland games. So if those two teams can embarrass you, we are hoping Spurs can take out their frustrations on them also. Perhaps another beat down is in the cards, similar to when they hammered Swansea after the CFC loss. Hull you are up and Kane is ready to bring in a double digit haul.
If anyone is interested in following the site teams progress then you can do so here and we wish you all the best of luck this week with your own teams.
Afternoon all will take a hit tonight baring injuries Cedric & Redmond out Ake & Phillips in sideways move I know but cash needed
What’s the plan with the added cash, Silvers?
beer
Good call. Times are tight around Christmas time.
Mito / Swirly The beer comes after , the cash will go towards Kuns return str swap Kane – Kun would still have Erik 😉
Kane C in jeopardy for any?
Not good
Guess that’s just good for Erikson and Alli owners
Yep
Mito21,
Did I miss the start of a thread? Is there a health issue for Harry?
No Ki, Harry should be fine. Problem some have with Kane is not having Dembele. There seems to be some numbers that point to the importance of Dembele to Kane’s production. That’s all, may just be coincidence, but it certainly looks that way.
Believe Kane has 15 points in 4 games without Dembele this season and 53 in 6 with him. So basically 9 points vs 4 points on average.
Thanks, Mito. And yes, it really is true about Kane’s reliance on Dembele. In the long-mourned absence of Luka (second assist) Modric, Dembele, has provided the counterpoint scheming to Poch’s insistent on pressure and hardverk.
Afternoon guys,
would anyone make any changes to my starting line up. Hoping lovren recovers if not mcauley will come in for him.
Thanks in advance
Looks good to go – you could do worse than have McAuley come in.
I am just wondering if I rather play McAuley over Lovren anyway. I guess if you consider that Boro is the worst scoring team, that is probably the right call.
Thanks guys, Yes not fussed really whether its Lovren or Mcauley. Im looking to take Lovren out next week for chambers and free up some cash to upgrade either Rondon or Redmond.
i would probably strengthen up top, bring in Costa or Ibra, Rondon and Carrol are not quite reliable in terms of goal scoring and Carrol not a regular starter yet
How does this look, good to go? Already used my FT to bring in Payet for Firminho. 0.2itb
No Liverpool worries me long term but couldn’t ignore Payets next few fixtures. Will try and get Mane in at some stage in the next few weeks.
Hey RF – looks good to go. I’m in the same boat of rotating Phillips & Capoue every week so I’m contemplating a -4 to upgrade one of them to Siggy/Walcott/Son. Whatcha think?
Philips could do well this gameweek, I wouldn’t take him out for a hit, personally.
Agree with Swirly, he has the potential to do well this week. Long term I’m thinking maybe him to someone like Lalland and downgrade Walker to fund it. But spurs have good fixtures so not just yet for me.
Cheers guys. Happy to go with Phillips this week but thinking Siggy is a now or never prospect looking at their run of fixtures. Terrible season so far so I’m not averse to a hit now and then.
I like the Payet shout – he’s got two excellent fixtures. Good to go, I’d say!
I wouldn’t bring in Mane – unless I’m mistaken he has the African Cup of Nations starting mid-January.
How does my team look for tonight? I’ve got 1.3 in the bank and really want to change either Stones or Williams but it would mean a 4pt hit? Worth it to get someone better? Have I got my captain choice right? Thanks!
Yes captain is fine
Stones to Walker or Alonso can be done
Not sure for a hit though
You may aswell keep Stones for this fixture and save the hit. Long term Alonso just shades Walker for me as less rotation (once Spurs are playing in Europa)
Good point made
Thanks guys! Think I’ll stick with what I’ve got and not take a hit and look at changing the defence for next gameweek!
Any chance George Friend gets a start? At least on the bench?
Possibly, Ben Dinnery has him as 50/50 with a late fitness test.
Cheers mate
Him recovering would at least sort out some trouble
