Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 31
Cutting straight to the chase this week, as time is of the essence, we scored 50 points in GW30 which was 10 above the average and it saw us register yet another green arrow, which is now 10 of those in the last 13 weeks. It’s ‘slowly, slowly catchy monkey’ though it seems as we’ve only actually risen by 30,000 places in all that time! This week we jumped up 5k to 34,416 overall. We aren’t complaining of course, it all just feels a bit laborious! A bit like our team itself this week actually as there was nothing to get excited about individually, it was more of a collective effort with just the odd goal or assist, here or there. Valencia and Nyom shared a 0-0 which suited our clean sheet bank, Captain Hazard grabbed an assist, Mane and Carroll a goal apiece. And that was pretty much it. This week’s site team meeting was hasty and a bit heated as a result! One naughty schoolboy was even slapped on the wrist and sent away to check his homework as a result of insubordination and cheek. After that the adults continued and here’s what we decided on…
Our transfer this week is: Selling Sadio Mane and buying Alexis Sanchez
Ideally we didn’t want to be doing this ahead of ‘Bournemouth at home’, but such is FPL sometimes, best laid plans and all that… Sadio was unfortunately crocked in the derby but fortunately we had a healthy bank of £3.2mln which was probably always planned and destined to fund an Alexis move at some point in the next few weeks given his imminent DGW’s. We’ve simply brought that decision forward a bit.
West Ham are this weeks opponents and they haven’t won in their last 6, losing the last 4 straight. Away from home in their last 2 they’ve conceded 3 at Bournemouth and 2 at Hull. If Alexis is even slightly on form here he should be able to repay our faith in him.
The Team in full this week…
Our captain is: Alexis Sanchez
The new man has the armband for what we hope will be his 9th double-digit score of the season. The Chilean returned 23pts vs the Hammers in the reverse fixture in GW14 with a hatty and an assist. Same again please pal.

So, this is going to be my team for the week. How’s it looking? Took a -4 again.
I think I’ll go Davies over Nyom
Davies contradicts Siggy. He’s anyways going to be auto-replaced with Valencia as he might not start tonight.
I’d play Davies over Nyom Constant….
Looks good to go, Davis could come in if Valencia is out of the game
Hey guys, how’s it going? Cookie, thanks for the ATG news on page one, much appreciated with the short turnaround this week!! So what do you guys think about the Valencia rumors? If he doesn’t play I can’t field 3 defenders as I have 2 non-playing subs. Is it worth the -4 to bring in a DGW34 player like Gibson for Funes Mori, or would you risk playing 10 men and save the hit? I have a tight H2H match this week so I don’t want to give away 4 points, but he has Nyom to come in for Valencia if need be. Another option would be replacing Anichebe with anyone up to 6.1 and using my AOA chip. Someone like Origi would be cute for this week but would throw off my team balance in the current 3-5-2. Any ideas? I have 1.8 ITB and already used my FT.
Heaton
Valencia Alonso Davies
Alli Eriksen Coutinho Tadic Siggy
Lukaku Aguero
Pickford, Ake, Anichebe, Funes Mori
Hey there Red – the rumours seem to be well documented and in that regard I would take them to be true.
Red your bench is horrendous, yet you are doing so well! You are confounding the text book here A 5 man midfield without Alexis is a surprise mate.
Talk to me about Origi – if you get him so will I. As a short-term trade until Gabbo is fit.
What’s stopping you from getting Origi Cookie? Personally I might take a hit for him. Fixtures look good, the player looks sharp and hungry and Gabbi looks to be out for at least 1-2 more games
Neo, no.1 it will be for a hit, no.2 I have lost count of the number of times Liverpool players prove to be complete let downs, no.3 I could just let Yoshi come off my bench no.4 how will Liverpool play without Mana and Lallana? no.5 Sturridge is now sniffing around, I’m sure I can think of nos 6, 7 and 8 with a bit of time 😉
Haha, you’re right about the bench Cookie! I still have my WC so I can clean things up as soon as the DGWs are announced and we can see things more clearly. I’ve basically been using transfers to put out fires with my starting 11 and have left the deadwood on the bench. It hasn’t hurt me too badly yet but I think it’s about to, lol. I made a calculated decision to hold off on Sanchez until the DGWs as I think Alli and Spurs have better form/fixtures until then and I could get Alli in for Mane without a hit. As far as Origi goes I think he’s preferred to Sturridge and hasn’t let himself down with 2 assists and goal in the last 4 matches, only 1 of which he started. He must be ahead of Sturridge who is just coming back from injury and has never been one of Klopp’s favorites, right?
So what do you think? Gibson in for FM for a -4 and put him as first sub? Or Cedric maybe? What do you think about using AOA this week and getting rid of Anichebe? I could do Barnes who has a home match and wouldn’t throw off my team balance, but Anichebe will be back possibly this weekend and has a DGW. Or just bite the bullet and play with 10 men if Valencia is rested and use my FT for the weekend on Gibson or Chambers (who I’d prefer to Gibson if fit).
Get Origi, let’s have some fun and if it doesn’t work out we can slag your boys off! AOA man!
Haha, you’re going to slag my boys off in the next ATG article regardless, Cookie!!
I’d love to get Origi as I think he’ll score well this week, but that would hurt me going forward with a selection headache and no money to make other moves. I might just ride it out if Valencia doesn’t start and hope the rest of my team can carry me through. A 0 pointer isn’t the end of the world, not much difference to a 2 point or a 1 point return from a defender who ships a goal and gets a YC.
Red – don’t want to steal the fun from you guys but in your situation I’d bite the bullet and play with 10 men. It goes without saying that I don’t fancy Origi to go that well. The last time he got a run in the team in Mane’s absence he did feck all. I know Lallana was available at the time (gws 21, 22 and 23) but that also means that Klopp doens’t really trust him that much. He may start tomorrow, surely, and next week, but is he the goal machine we all want him to be?
Plus, Bornemouth have tighten up somewhat after the 6-3 everton game including a 1-1 at Old Trafford and a cleanie at Southampton in their last 3. Will they even loose this game? I know you are a liverpool fan and don’t want to jinx it for you guys but I really fear for Liverpool’s attacking prospects without that man Mane! Cue the Origi hatty now…
Hey Red..I’d play AOA this week. looks ideal for the same. I’d suggest you to get origi and play him.
Thanks Constantine, appreciate your thoughts. Origi would be great for the AOA this week, but that burns up all my money ITB and leaves me a selection headache with my current 3-5-2 set-up. I’d have to bench either Origi or one of my 5 decent mids each week going forward. I wonder if getting Barnes or someone I don’t mind benching going forward might work with the AOA this week…
Can you please advise
Firmino or coutinho
coutingo seems better but early sub is threat i got him against burnley and subbed by woodburn min 59
Personally prefer Firmino as a player but FPL wise he will suffer when Mane is out as he will be shifted out wide. I did Mane > Coutinho this GW
Gents
Team for GW31; good to go? Or should I be doing something else?
3.8 ITB
Thinking king to coutinho?
Needs a hit…….
….naturally
Sound good?
Zaha would set you up better and would ease the pain when he takes your boys apart on Monday
The winning streak starts tomorrow!!!
#dejavu
Surely Mitro’s taking a punt on Origi?
Yeah let him do the midfield one first
You think that would be the better option?
Probably not. Suppose it depends if you want to keep some money for Ibra against the Mackems at the weekend.
Here’s my lot for this evening and t’morn.
Liking the cappo pick Gp …. ! 😉
Best of luck GP – watching City attack from behind the sofa?!
Not seeing much of Aguero in any of the teams. Hope he goes berserk this week
Looks great GP, I’d captain Vardy too if I had him. Best of luck!
Thanks for the replies fellas.
Looking forward to tonight’s action.
Looks good GP. Best of luck
Afternoon all,
I’m up the walls in work and in need of some assistance with my team
Mane is the obvious concern. I’m 0.3 short to do a straight swap with Alexis. Therefore I’m thinking of bringing Zaha in for Siggy to raise the cash. Siggy has been consistent over recent weeks but hasn’t picked up the big scores.
What do you guys reckon?
Take the hit son and do it before your phone dies 😉
Hi Kop you got quite a decent team there. Maybe if I were you I would do Mane -> Zaha. And then next week Siggy for Sanchez so that you do not take a hit this week. Zaha could do well this GW. So it’s a little punt. A cheeky punt.
Cheers KungFu. It’s certainly an option but it would mean hiding behind the sofa while Arsenal play West Ham
Take the hit!!
Well Mitro is putting pressure on you to take the hit! It might actually be wise yes – going Sanchez-less would be dangerous. But if you have a comfy floor behind that sofa I would take the risk hehe…depending on how badly you are chasing or not in your ML of course! 😉
I’m 60pts off top!!!!
That settles it young man! Take the hit and enjoy the (hopefully) Sanchez show!!
Kop – do the people above you have san(c)hez?
I’m in 2nd and the guy ahead of me has Sanchez.
You know you have to bring him in!
I think so
I would agree with these moves if you then capo Alexis, of course. It compensates for the it itself given that you don’t have any other standout capo (except Vardy, which I actually have and have armbanded … but that’s mainly because I don’t have Sanchez if that makes sense!).
