Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 31

Cutting straight to the chase this week, as time is of the essence, we scored 50 points in GW30 which was 10 above the average and it saw us register yet another green arrow, which is now 10 of those in the last 13 weeks. It’s ‘slowly, slowly catchy monkey’ though it seems as we’ve only actually risen by 30,000 places in all that time! This week we jumped up 5k to 34,416 overall. We aren’t complaining of course, it all just feels a bit laborious! A bit like our team itself this week actually as there was nothing to get excited about individually, it was more of a collective effort with just the odd goal or assist, here or there. Valencia and Nyom shared a 0-0 which suited our clean sheet bank, Captain Hazard grabbed an assist, Mane and Carroll a goal apiece. And that was pretty much it. This week’s site team meeting was hasty and a bit heated as a result! One naughty schoolboy was even slapped on the wrist and sent away to check his homework as a result of insubordination and cheek. After that the adults continued and here’s what we decided on…

Our transfer this week is: Selling Sadio Mane and buying Alexis Sanchez
Ideally we didn’t want to be doing this ahead of ‘Bournemouth at home’, but such is FPL sometimes, best laid plans and all that… Sadio was unfortunately crocked in the derby but fortunately we had a healthy bank of £3.2mln which was probably always planned and destined to fund an Alexis move at some point in the next few weeks given his imminent DGW’s. We’ve simply brought that decision forward a bit.

West Ham are this weeks opponents and they haven’t won in their last 6, losing the last 4 straight. Away from home in their last 2 they’ve conceded 3 at Bournemouth and 2 at Hull. If Alexis is even slightly on form here he should be able to repay our faith in him.

The Team in full this week…

Our captain is: Alexis Sanchez
The new man has the armband for what we hope will be his 9th double-digit score of the season. The Chilean returned 23pts vs the Hammers in the reverse fixture in GW14 with a hatty and an assist. Same again please pal.

Hey guys, Wayne Rooney also wasn’t pictured at the team hotel (along with Valencia). Are people thinking he’s not in the squad as well? I’ve read that Rooney sometimes shows up on his own apart from the team. Does that mean the same goes for Valencia and other players? It is a home match after all, it’s not like they had to travel far… someone please give me more hints about Valencia, I need to know if he’s playing or not!! laugh

MUTV live in 20 minutes – I will pay attention and see if they mention anything! 😉 But I think a lot of us are anxious… 😉

      • RedVT says:

Thanks KungFu, much appreciated man!! I’ll need a hit to put a playing defender out if he’s rested.

        • KungFuKingCantona says:

No mention of Valencia missing – the predicted line up by the United commentator had Valencia in it. But of course this means nothing since nothing is official! OOOOOH so annoying! This uncertainty can cost me a -4!! 😉

        • RedVT says:

OK, thanks KungFu!! It all boils down to the fact that Valencia wasn’t pictured at the hotel. The interwebs took it from there. I think Manchester Evening News tweeted that he wasn’t in the squad yesterday, but I’m guessing they have as much concrete information as we do unless somebody leaked something. It’ll cost me -4 too if I bring someone in for bench cover and he plays. The flip side is that it’ll only cost me 2 and maybe even gain me some points if I bring in Gibson for 1st sub and Valencia DOESN’T play. So it could be a bargain and the perfect time to drop Funes Mori. Haha, oh the drama of FPL!! laugh

Haha yeah Red – well we got 1 hour to make up our minds. I need to do eat, wash dishes or hoover, and clear my mind a bit haha! Back in 30 with hopefully the grand master plan!

So my team is in shambles, especially considering the opposition of their games this gameweek. I am thinking of doing a last-minute wildcard, because why not?!

    Foster, Pickford
    Luiz, Stones, Valencia, Walker, A.Smith,
    Mane, Lallana, Siggy, Pedro, Barry
    Lukaku, Costa, Carroll
    1 FT, 2.3 ITB

Should I risk it for the biscuit? My mini league leader is a good 100+ ahead, so need to make up ground!

Hey gang, confused over lineup and bench now. Thoughts?? Currently:
    Jaku
    Aonso, Baines, Nyom, Davies
    Sanchez, Siggy, Pedro
    Lukaku, Vardy(C), Gray.
    Bench: Grant, Lanzini, King, Amat

I would bring King for Baines

      Andy says:

I’d have both King and Lanzini over Baines for this GW, neither Arsenal or Liverpool have been great defensively and I can’t see Everton getting out of Old Trafford with a CS with Ibra back in the Man U team and I doubt Baines will be much of an attacking threat. I’d maybe punt with King as I’m not sure if Antonio’s potential return will affect Lanzini at all.
