Like many, our GW31 was rescued late by Christian Eriksen and Josh King – the Viking came up with a goal and assist at Swansea while King cheered ‘most’ of the committee by equalising at Anfield. Of course King only appeared for us due to Llorent’s no-show, so happy days! Eden Hazard contributed 13pts also and those three were the only significant contributors. Captain Fail Sanchez at least tried to justify our faith by adding a clean sheet point but it was a pretty embarrassing display by the remaining eight numpties. We scored just above average – 50pts vs an average of 45 and saw a small red arrow. Not nice. We dropped about 1.5k places to 36,034. So hardly a disaster. It seems that win, lose or draw though we are destined to finish in the 30k bracket! We are beginning to realise how Jose feels this season as that’s the 11th time now that we have ranked in the 30’s and we’ve actually spent 20 of the 31 weeks stuck between 20 and 60k! At least we are consistent if nothing else. Maybe we have been too lenient on some of these wasters for too long, but calls for an emergency wildcard will be batted off by the committee, no doubt. But let’s see…
Our transfer this week is: Nobody!
We have decided to stick this week and take the free transfer into GW33 when we can start planning properly for DGW34. The forwards seem to be an issue at the moment as we are a bit heavy in midfield and a bit light up top but losing any of Erik, Sanchez, Hazard or Siggy right now doesn’t seem right. The only real suggestion this week was to replace either Carroll or Llorente with Origi, Benteke or Negredo but it all felt a bit like replacing a damp plaster with… another soon to be damp plaster. We have just £0.9m in the bank too so the options are limited without a hit or some major surgery. Certainly the likes of Kun are out of our range. So we stick with what we have and will go at GW33 with a spare transfer and assess that limp attack again. No doubt still in 30,000th place or so!
The Team in full this week…
Our captain is: Christian Eriksen
This was a split decision to say the least. Erik, Sanchez and even Siggy all received votes. Which probably says a lot in terms of there being many good choices this week, but also maybe us not having many of them! Erik stumbled across the line but his 2 goals and 3 assists in the last 5 games does oil the wheels a bit. Watford being more or less safe and Spurs wanting to crank up the pressure on Chelsea helps too.

Hi, shall I
A) stick
B) Costa and Vardy for Kun Origi -4
C) Costa and Sanchez for Jun Walcott -4
0.3 itb so cannot afford Kun or Kane alone
Swampster – can’t believe I’m saying this but I would probably stick, however if you are intent on doing it I would go with option B
Thanks, am currently sticking with alli capt but that can change!
It’s either him or Kun for cappo
I’d stick
Thanks guys
gone for this today, double spurs transfer in. 1 place off the top of the regulars league now…
and now with picture!
!
Looking good!
Looking good amigo! Top spot in reach! If my team were in the regs league think I’d be 7th just checked!
Morning all,
Having been playing fantasy IPL for the past few days I can’t seem to generate any interest in my FPL team! Therefore I’ve decided to roll my FT over
IPL? you’ve changed Kop!! 😉
This isn’t my first time 😉
I know most on here will laugh but fantasy cricket is so much better than fantasy football!!
:O
Oh dear god! 😉
Kop speaketh the truth.
Mitro, you’d love it – transfers every day, new captains every day, 2 capos per match…..
2 capos? I saw only one? Which site are you using?
Fandromeda
For each match you choose a batting capo and a bowling capo.
Oh. That one. Now I’m playing on the official site. Although I have made right mess of it, joining late and without proper research. Missed the first match, capped Jadeja for the last one when he was unavailable. They don’t even give VCs. My mini league rivals captained Raina and Gambhir, one of whom I’d have capped as well had I known Jadeja is out. Doomed already :noshake:
OK guys, need some advice here.
This is the team I have rustled up with that accidental wildcard. I know some are prematurely in/out. The plan now is to swap Valdes and Zaha for Caballero and King after their DGWs, for almost same price points. I plan to swap Lukaku for Kane in GW 37 for the DGW, and that difference in price needs to be made up by downgrading PVA. I have 1.1 in the bank, so would probably be needing another 1.1 or 1.2, unless Kane shoots up rapidly; which means I’ll be falling short on money. If that happens the only option I see would be to sacrifice Coutinho.
Any suggestions/alternatives? Any that I can implement this week itself, seeing that I already have an active WC?
Thanks in advance.
Nike
I really like that WC squad, well done.
I think I would sleep easier having Sakho as my Palace coverage with PVA’s recent injury as well as his competition with Schlupp. I’m sure Sakho would be assured of both games in the DGW.
Sakho will not be eligible to play against Liverpool as he is on loan.
Excellent point konstro, I missed that.
Don’t fancy their chances much in that one then if Dann and Tomkins aren’t back.
Martin Kelly may be a good alternative, and cheaper, nike.
Sakho’s on loan from Liverpool so it’s very doubtful that he’ll be allowed to play against his parent club in the DGW, Palace defensive cover without PVA is a bit of cluster at the minute, you maybe just best served picking up Hennessey.
So would it be advisable to keep PVA for now and see if he recovers, and if he doesn’t, then swap PVA and Valdes for Hennessey and Gibson? I’d be rolling my transfer next week barring any emergencies, so I would be able to do the changes if needed, for free. Or should I simply do the changes now for free and keep the FTs open for flexibility?
The thing is if PVA can be fit, I’d prefer to have him for his attacking potential. Defensively Palace are goners anyway. Do you reckon PVA would stay crocked for long?
I’d take the Hennessey/Gibson combo over PVA/Valdes, I just don’t think you can wait so long on PVA getting fit.
Done. Now that I have Gibson instead of Valdes, who should I keep as first sub, Zaha vs Ars (H) or Gibson vs Burn (H), to come in if Coutinho doesn’t play?
I don’t think I’d have Coutinho with him looking so iffy for this GW in a WC team, I’d take a punt on Ericksen and bring Coutinho back in if needed but no DGW’s for Pool and no Mane is a bit of a turn off.
Morning all.
Sane or Walcott for coutinho?
You have Aguero for City cover and Pep with Pep there is every possibility of rotation also you don’t have any Arsenal cover so would get Walcott
And with Pep*
Shanec
How about keeping Coutinho? I think he’ll play (just a feeling) and even if he doesn’t, look at his fixtures AFTER today – you’ll want him for those. You have Phillips to come in, or at worst, Pieters and it is only one week.
You already have Aguero covering the Hull match and I think Palace will give it tough to Arsenal (Walcott) on Monday.
Need to use a transfer tho gp
You could do Amat to Stephens in preparation for Southampton’s DGWs?
Yeh might do that move or Gibson. Cheers gp
You’re welcome.
Best of luck today mate.
