Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 38
Welcome to Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 38. We had it off big time. We ******* had it off. We planned (ish), we hoped (a lot), we got lucky (extremely). But we’ll take it – it’s been a long season, there have been ups and downs, but it sure feels good to report a DGW score of 193. We played our Bench Boost of course, but given that Gabbiadini and Holgate scored just a single point between them, it makes the contributions from elsewhere even more special. Of course many of you will have returned similarly impressive scores, so we won’t go on too much. However it would be wrong not to recognise another Alexis DGW masterclass, 20pts from Azpi, 19pts from Jesus and of course Thursday’s evening’s finale from Spurs which saw our Spurs pair of Kane and Son return 50pts. We are now sat in 13,608th place, a season’s best and we’d love one more week of green arrows to record a top 10k finish. Here are the details of our final transfer and our GW38 Captain…
The FF247 Team for GW38…
Our Transfer – Manolo Gabbiadini OUT, Sam Vokes IN
Hardly the glamour transfer we imagined we would end the season on but our options were somewhat limited. Gabbiadini trolled us in the DGW, missing the first game and then missing a penalty in the second to finish on a grand total of zero points. And we don’t think he will start this one. We may as well have bought Anichebe and that just about sums up that particular debacle…
And so in comes the in form Vokes. Speaking of trolls, within our budget it was either him or Benteke. We’ve gone with the one with a home game and he also has 3 goals in his last 2 games. Plus West Ham seem to have given up the ghost if last weeks result is anything to by. Plus he may or may not be on pens. That one depends on who else is on the pitch at the time it seems. We spent 20 minutes of our lives discussing and researching that particular topic!
We couldn’t leave it there really without discussing Hazard. His potential minutes this weekend have been a hot topic this week given that he played the full game on Monday. We have no idea whether he will start is the short answer on that. Had we not had any other issues we would have probably sold him for Coutinho this week. We still could have of course but then it would have been for a hit which seemed to be stretching it a bit.
Our Captain is Harry Kane, our Vice Captain is Jesus
This was a fairly unanimous vote. Even though two of the committee are devout anti-Kane disciples, one of them still voted for him. Spurs seem intent on seeing the season out in style and we saw what they are capable of with the shackles off the other night. Four may be stretching it but would anyone be at all surprised to see him hit another hat-trick here?

The Fixture Tracker…
Hi lads, just a quick Q – Am I mad to sell Aguero for Sturridge? I have Jesus Thx!!
Hey up BobbyBilly, hows it ‘angin ? Depends on your situation. ML ? OR ? Just for fun ?
I’d love to gain some ranks in my ML – it’s been a poor season for me and I’m in 8th, but only a few points off 4th and a cash prize! Not expecting much, but I’d love to regain some dignity. At least I’m top half haha.
I fancy Sturridge a lot whenever, but especially in a front two. On the other hand, we know Aguero loves the pressure of needing points on the final day!
The dilemma is that either him or Aguero would be differencials in my league.
Many thanks – great to hear from u elle
Bob, afternoon, it’s been a while! Looks like you have alternating seasons: great and mediocre. Next season you’ll walk straight into the top 10k on that basis!
Anyway, as for the season at hand, my first instinct was ‘go for it’ when I saw Aguero —> Sturridge…
Agree, go for it. Studge.
James it’s true – All my good ranks coincide with my exam years!! Not sure why or how that is!
Thanks for the input James and Elle – I’m gonna go for it!
Evening all, this is what I have right now – I have nothing in the bank and one free transfer.
Any ideas?
Also, should I bench Monreal or Davies?
Cheers in advancement.
Spread your bets and bench Monreal I would say – Davies could get a lot of crosses in at Hull so could easily pick up an assist to boot.
Cheers Robbo
Cookie
Sterling to Coutinho jumps out. That work?
And with his recent assists, I would use Davies ahead of Monreal.
I have no cash in the bank GP
Is cash needed? Wow. I’m out of the loop with prices sorry. Thought they would be roughly the same.
Lallana?
Haha gets a bit like that doesn’t it GP!
So you’d recommend playing 4-4-2 also?
Yeah it doesn’t look too bad does the 4-4-2.
Or you could do Vokes!
Hi Cookie,i’d play Davies over Gabbi and ship Sterling out for one of Siggy,Son,Lallana or Zaha.
So play 4-4-2 Brooky?
Yeah think so mate.Or you could do the Gabbi punt and risk Sterling.I think Davies deffo has to play though.
Call it a mad hunch – and I’ve no idea what makes me think of this – but you could always bring in somebody like, say, Vokes for Gabi
Haha good old Vokesy!!
Ok, so forgetting Coutinho & Firmino, which scum, sorry scouse midfielder should I buy? Lallana? Wiji? Milner for pens now Sturridge is back?
Or….you could go shit or bust……Sanchez to Coutinho and Gabbi to Sturridge….and if your still short Sterling to Son……
Brooky, I ain’t that bullish on Liverpool!!
If you’re looking for a bit of a punt, worth noting that Lallana did bag 19 pts last time out against ‘boro. I was tempted by that myself but played the percentage shot of Coutinho
I’d bench Monreal, Everton and Koeman won’t give Arsenal anything on Sunday and Lukaku is chasing the golden boot.
Cheers Sk
Cookie
Play Davies, gabbi to vokes? 😉
Where’s Vardy gone?! Thought he was the next big thing instead of Kane 😉
Just get Vokes and play Davies mate.
Davies over Monreal for me too, Cookie, to spread the risk. Sell Gabbi for literally anyone, just so you don’t have to see him in your team come the final day!
Does this look all set? Have been struggling to decide on my best defensive line up.
Looks good Robbo. Probably boost Monreal further up that bench just in case.
Are your transfers used?
Yup, sold Alli for Coutinho. I’ve been toiling over Monreal. My gut says Arsenal will concede, but it’s still a sensible suggestion to have him up the bench.
I’d leave it as is Robbo
Cheers Initt.
Evening all ! This is a pic of my 2nd team.It was my first team but it was doing so poorly and my B team in comparison doing so much better I did a swap…. I know some people don’t like the idea of having a 2nd team but I just do it for the fun of it !
Anyway I’ve managed to get it from a crappy 2m ranking in January up to about 340,00 which is a bit more respectable and up to 2nd in my works mini league.1st place is long gone but I’m only 3 points clear of 3rd place.
He’s got the same front 8 as me but has made 3 transfers this week taking a -8 point hit and as he is a big Liverpool fan I’m pretty sure he has brought Coutinho and Sturridge in for Hazard and Gabbi and looking at his money maybe done Alli to Son to enable this.I’m also pretty sure he will cappo one of Coutinho or Sturridge.
Now I’m not prepared to do a -8 to bring both in but think I do need one or the other.Who do you think is the priority ?? Coutinho or Sturridge ?? I could do Hazard to Coutinho but that would only leave me 8.3 m to improve Gabbi or I could do Haz to Fabregas/Siggy and Gabbi to Sturridge for -4.Or I could ignore his moves and just swap Gabbi out for Vokes or Llorente which doesn’t really inspire me.What you reckon ??
Hey Brooky,
I like Haz to Cesc & Gabbi to Sturridge mate
Thanks Cookie, that’s the way I’m leaning at the mo !
If you think he’s shifted Alli to save some funds then how about just Alli to Coutinho and take an 11 point lead into the final GW, it’s tough figuring out who to start from that lot though, I know it’s Citeh but I’d be tempted to start Caballero over Cech and shift to a 4-4-2 with Brunt over Gabby.
Could do that Andy but I don’t see Brunt getting much and feel that would be leaving the door open for my rival especially if Hazard doesn’t start.
Wow.. Can’t believe it guys but we just spent another season together! Really appreciate all the time and effort of ALL of you here, especially the writers, for all the articles and insights. It really shows how great this community is when there are so many of us (less myself) doing so well this season!
Anyway, this is my team for the last GW. Took a -8 for my Sturridge and to catch the rest in my ML although Kane should really be the pick of the week.
Good luck Neo, and thanks for all your contributions this season, it’s much appreciated.
Well done guys on the rank. Fingers crossed for your game week and to finish in the top 10k. Good luck and thanks a million to everyone on the site who have contributed, not only to advice but the banter on the page. This year I didn’t comment as much as previous years. I have read quite a lot but I haven’t had as much time as I’d like to contribute.
Looks like I’ll be finishing in the top three of the banterbury league 2 which I hope means promotion? If so that’s two years in a row which I’m happy about.
I’m on my way out for pints now so might not be back on.
Again thank you all and good luck in the last gameweek
Cheers
Cheers Butch  You’re always a welcome sight on here whenever you can.
Well done on Banterbury promotion, Butch!! Enjoy the pints.
