No Son, no smiles

Welcome to FF247 Site Team BGW29

The double-game week was something of a letdown in more ways than one. As is often the case, however, it was a single-game week player who was to blame for our demise.

In a game week where most of the popular players blanked, two did not. We had one (Palmer 13pts) but sadly we didn’t have the other (Son 17pts). Sigh. Every one of our other single-game week players blanked, with 7 of our 11 picking up 2pts and Batman just the 1.

After Bournemouth’s first game of the double, we were beginning to wonder if bringing in Solanke and Zabarnyi had been an error with just 1pt between both of them following Solanke’s (C) miss and the 2 goals conceded. It didn’t look much better in their second game when Luton raced to a 3-0 lead. Thankfully Bournemouth rallied spectacularly with goals from both our Cherries. 24pts on the night to top up what was looking like a very very bad 28pts.

Sadly it wasn’t enough to save us from a red arrow. Our final score of 52pts was 8pts above the average but that couldn’t stop our fall from 1359 to 2210. Not too bad and we’re not going to dwell on it!

Our Gameweek 28 Result

We have 1 in the bank and £3.1 free transfer to use ahead of GW29. Let’s go see what was decided….

Our GW29 Transfer(s)

With just 3 players we didn’t have a lot of choice. Well we did, but we’ve chosen our Free Hit over the Wildcard.

With that in mind, we have temporarily shipped almost our entire team.

We’ve kept it simple, with our solid overall rank we’ve gone full template and what we’re left with is a team that is very brown, white and orange. I don’t think the team needs much of an explanation, jump on X (formerly the bird app) and you will see this team everywhere. The template is a template for a reason. It’s a good if not overly exciting 11 with a decent-looking bench just in case anyone doesn’t turn up (we’re looking at you Ollie!!).

Son takes the armband because again, that’s the template and sometimes we just like to go with the herd! Baaaaaaa (That’s a sheep in case you hadn’t realised)

To confirm then we have SOLD most of our team and BOUGHT a brown, white, orange one!

PREDICTED LINE-UPS

Back by popular demand! Well, sort of… Drafthound have changed their line-up approach this season and what it means for us is that we are no longer able to display a live feed of it on here due to some technical difficulties. That said, what they have done looks great and is still only a click away so if you want to access those they are HERE

We’ve only got 3 players… will we play a chip? Which one will we play?

So, will Watkins play? That’s the question

I’m thinking Watkins to Wissa and playing 6…(I have no Toney, no Bowen, no JWP, no Maddison)… it looks like a horrible team on paper, but I’m leading my ml by over 100… and think I can counter-attack by using the free-hit later…

Was thinking of doing Son & Maddison in for Foden and Palmer, then realised I cant have 6 in midfield!!
    But then thought, how about:
    Foden->Son and Solanke->Toney for 4ph
    Captain Son
    Thoughts please.

Wouldn’t Son & Mads still just give you 5 in midfield? Either of the options you suggested sounds good. It depends how you plan to get those players back once you sell them

Well I could both Son and Maddison, but only leaves me Watkins upfront, if he 100% plays.
If I did Palmer->Son, and Solanke->Toney it might make it easier.
Son has better upcoming fixtures, but dont know who is better to keep, Foden or Palmer.
Is a formation of 3-5-1 better than 3-4-2 best? Watkins is a bit of a risk potentially

    Hi all,

Pretty much the same as the FF247 FH team.

What do we know about Watkins and Reguilón?

This is my free hit team. Pretty happy with it but something at the back of my mind is telling me Bailey. Gone for gibbs white as I feel Luton may be a bit worn out after the Bournemouth game. Kind of tempted with Muniz over Morris. Or could go 352 and pick Bailey?

Probably much the same as most.
    Thanks!
