Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 18

You can say a lot of things about our performance thus far, one thing you can’t say is that we are not inconsistent. We have managed to score a game-week rank of one million or higher in 13 of the 17 GWs so far! We have now collected seven straight red arrows and looking at the make up of our team, seem unlikely to stop the bleeding anytime soon. Hopefully by now you have figured out that the key to your success could be to simply stay away from any moves that we make. So whoever we sell, buy him, whoever we buy, sell him. Should be simple enough. Hopefully this last recommendation gets me sacked, as writing this has become more depressing than being a United or Chelsea fan.

GW17 in summary
Our defence laid a collective egg. Six points was our total sum from our three defenders and our keeper. That incredible tally was matched by KDB, Ramsey (our flamboyant new signing) and Deulofeu. Those 3 also managed to combine for 6 points. If it wasn’t for FPL star Mahrez our midfield would have been a virtual wasteland. Considering the ownership on Mahrez though, his points do more harm than good if we don’t have him captain. So you see, even when we do good, we somehow still do bad. Our front-line all reported back with some decent points including our capo Lukaku. Vardy grabbed 8, powered by two assists, Kane managed a goal and Lukaku did the same.

Transfer for GW18 – Sold Naughton for Olsson and Westwood for Ozil
Our transfer ‘thinking’ –
We initially planned and budgeted for Aguero this week but upon voting he was, somewhat surprisingly, knocked back. Mainly because we didn’t want / couldn’t really justify selling any of Vardy, Lukaku or Kane for someone who may have a great fixture in theory but may also just see 60 minutes, with his manager saying as much and also suggesting that this may be the case over the next few games as well until he is properly match fit. We wouldn’t dissuade anyone from taking him in this week and would totally understand them doing so, we just couldn’t bring ourselves to sell what we had!

Our main concern this week was actually our defence, or rather lack of. Looking across it we had a bunch of duds who were either not playing, at risk of rotation or simply had a poor fixture. Given the need for a full(er) squad over the next few weeks we decided to dispense with Naughton who has seemingly lost his place to Rangel (reported injured but also reported as likely to be ok this week) and upon consideration of the upcoming fixtures we decided to bring in a West Brom defender. Ok so they haven’t exactly been rock solid but the fixtures suggest there may be something in there and given the defensive uncertainty this season they were basically the best of a bad bunch.

The next consideration was that we didn’t own Ozil and given his current form and his consistency and allied to Arsenal’s fixture list over Christmas it seemed criminal not to finally dip in. And so we welcome him with open arms. Finally. And apologies to anyone that owns him, that’s probably the last assist you see from him from now until we sell him again!

Our plan next week is to add in Giroud ahead of a couple of home games that should see him bag a few in theory as Bournemouth and Newcastle visit The Emirates. This was part of our ‘Anti-Kun’ planning as well as we fancy Arsenal to do well over this period whereas City may also do so but they have much tougher games and also a distinct lack of form.

Both transfers replace players with question marks over their game time with players who actually play, which is always a bonus! It fattens our squad ahead of rotation season too.

Captain – Riyad Mahrez
This was a slight surprise but given his recent form then perhaps not so much. In a sure fire display of form over fixtures winning out then we may finally have found a captain who is fixture proof but in all honesty he’s playing Liverpool this week so….

Our vice-captain is Kevin de Bruyne

Hey guys, which three would you play out of Shawcross, Bellerin, Dawson, Cresswell and Cathcart? Have Cech in goals

So used 1 FT to do Deulofeu to Ramsey.Got 1 FT and 3.6m in the bank.Thinking of rolling the other transfer over and bringing Dier in next gw for either Coleman or Kolorov or do I switch Kolorov out to Dier this gw due to Kolorovs rotation risk ?? Thoughts ?

I’m probably one of the biggest rotation worriers on here, so here’s my thoughts on it:

My thinking for Kolarov is that he’d play today because they’re more likely to be on the attack a lot. Next game against Leicester they’ll need a more solid defence so will probably play Clichy.

However, if you’re definitely going to take him out then it may be worth doing it this week because Dier is more likely to a) play b) keep a clean sheet.
