Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 21

Last GW we were sitting at 966 points and felt the sting of not having those two sixes at the end, upside down. So naturally we scored 33 and made it to our desired number of 999. You can choose to believe that or not, but that’s our story and we are tentatively sticking to it. Our score of 33 was 7 below the average and it landed our GW ranking at 2.6 million and something, but who is counting anyway? After that interesting score, we of course got visited by the guest of honour, Mr. Red Arrow. We now sit at 1.1 million and feel that the five monkeys we have hired to take over the site team, can’t possibly do any worse than the five monkeys that were in charge. So please welcome our new team staff as they look to better the extremely low bar, well saying there is a bar at all is probably giving the team committee too much credit.

GW20 in summary
Usually our defence plays less inspired than our captaincy choices, but this past GW they were at least respectable. With Morgan and Bellerin grabbing clean sheets, we felt like the point tally could be promising. Yeah right…as has now become custom something else went wrong and by something, we mean everything else. Our mids averaged 2 points for a total of eight points and that is when you include the captaincy that we trusted in Mahrez. Our forwards were not much better, although Vardy should have at least grabbed an assist on the penalty, if not for our dear captain missing it. Kane took the day off and Lukaku once again left us feeling that it could have been a ton more, but at least he grabbed an assist for a total of five points. Let’s move onto our transfers for the upcoming game-week so you know which player or players to stay away from.

Transfer/s decision for GW21 – we have sold Aaron Ramsey and Alberto Moreno and bought Delle Alli and Angel Rangel
Now, on the surface the transfers seem fairly straightforward. However, what preceeded them was a decision to wildcard our sorry lot of misfits and two days of wrangling, arguing, toy throwing, laughing, crying, resignations, (reluctant) reinstatements only to end up with a new team that frankly was bang on template, but we had Kun. So the decision was taken (it was about the only thing we did agree on) not to wildcard just to get Kun and a whole load of other high-ownership players. Sure we want Kun but we can do without him this week and the plan is to sell Harry Kane for him with our free transfer for GW22. In the meantime we needed to raise cash. Buying the inform Delle Alli for Ramsey ensures us attacking Spurs coverage for when Kane departs, while Swansea have Sunderland at home in GW21 and gives us immediate improvement (on paper) for this week – the Swans also have some decent fixtures going forward and Rangel seems to be favoured by caretaker manager Alan Curtis. He’s also lovely and cheap at just 4.1mln.

Captain – Kevin de Bruyne
KDB sneaked the vote, pipping Harry Kane 4-2, primarily on the back of his home form this season, where he has delivered double digit returns on four occassions and showed his form on Saturday in the Cup when he came off the bench to score at Norwich. C’mon Ginge, we need you now, more than ever.

Our vice-captain is Harry Kane
If KDB for one reason or another doesn’t feature then Kane will take the armband.

    Afternoon all,

Have 1Ft and £1.9m in the bank.

Not sure what to do with it. Initial thought was Lukaku (bought for £9.1m) to Kane (and then I’d bring Lukaku back in for Ighalo GW24).
Reckon it’s worth ditching him for these two games? Has not scored well against the big teams this season (in fact he hasn’t scored against any of them in the league!) and is nursing an injury.

Could hurt me but Spurs are looking good with Kane and Alli on the field.

    Thanks in advance.

      Oh, in addition:
Which keeper would you play? Both look likely to keep a clean sheet to be honest but surely DDG should get the nod? Just it’s away whilst Butland is at home..
Got the right defenders on? Can’t see the two on the bench picking up a CS..

      • Raziel says:

Goalie is a cointoss. United however play such dreadful and boring football, match will be over before you know it and it’s a 0-0 draw. 😉

Anyway, I ditched Lukaku a few days back, for Kane. Mainly because of fixtures and his knock. THink Lukaku is on the border of getting a serious injury. Martinez is asking too much from him.

        • AT says:

Cheers both, really not sure on the keeper. Just don’t think I could ever justify benching De Gea given the way they are playing their football.
          But then Norwich..

Kane does have great potential over the next block of GWs. Also thinking that if he does well and I don’t have him I’ll buy him anyway but if I get him and he blanks for weeks I can easily go back to Lukaku for his nice fixtures.

        • Raziel says:

Choice is up to you. I like both, I dropped Lukaku for Kun and my third striker is Vardy. Vardy looks to be going, in the upcoming weeks. If I can, I’d do him to Lukaku. How? That’s my headache. 😉 Best scenario I’d have Lukaku/Kane/Kun. ^^

          This can always change though.

        • AT says:

          That’s what I’m aiming for GW24, Raz.

        • Raziel says:

I created my own problem by having Payet/Allii/Ozil/KdB/Mahrez/Vardy/Kane/Kun. WTF? Crazy. Anyway, guess it’s smart to have backup, ALli is just too good for backup, I fear. WIll start him Wednesday.

I would captain KDB and play Butland

Hi AT, sounds like your gut is telling you to go with Kane in which case I would do that, no regrets and all that. Lukaku could do ok these next 2 games, who knows, but on balance I’d rather have Kane and as you say you can grab Lukaku back for the following ones anyway.

If it was me I’d look at replacing Lukaku with Kane and then bringing Lukaku back in for Ighalo.

Excuse the repost, was just wondering if anyone had any pearls of wisdom on this

Which 2 transfer do you prefer:
    1) Vardy + Barkley out for Kane + Stanis or
    2) Vardy + Barkley for Igloo + Payet (and a selection headache)

    2ft 0.8m itb
    current attackers:
    KDB Ozil Mahrez Barkley Alli
    Kun Luka Vardy

    Thanks

    Afternoon/evening all!!

    Sorry if I’m repeating myself but I intend to do the following as I have 2 FTs;

    Walcott to Payet
    Moreno to Zouma

Are these decent moves or is there other options available?

Have we heard any news regarding lukaku?

    Current team below.
