Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 29

Well that went well….NOT! A total score of 28 points in GW28 may seem to some as irony, but to us at FF247 it has completely summed up our season. Rubbish. We couldn’t even beat an average of 35 and thus dropped 86k places to an overall rank of 906,635. Nothing has gone right and frankly none of us will be sad to wave this season farewell. Or piss off.
GW28 in summary – this summary won’t take long, it’s painful to write and painful to read, unless you like a touch of self harm. The highlight of our score was two assists. Yep, that’s it – two assists. No goals scored, no clean sheets kept. The assisters were Payet and Mahrez. Everything else was clearly a complete disaster. Hennessey in goal conceded two at Sunderland, while our defenders Van Dijk, Bellerin and Morgan also conceded two a piece against opponents that they should easily have kept quiet. Ozil did nothing vs Swansea and Ali didn’t even start at West Ham, but did manage 30mins and a single point for us. Our forward line of Kun, Vardy and Kane scored two points each. We benched Wollscheid who naturally kept a clean sheet and then rubbed it in our faces as he proceeded to collect the three bonus points. Brilliant. Let’s move on to what will undoubtedly be another unmitigated disater!

Transfer decision for GW29 – we have sold Hector Bellerin and bought Vincent Kompany
Home to Villa – now what could go wrong?!! Bellerin has gone for now, due to Arsenal likely blanking next week as well as injuries to Cech and Koscielny which certainly makes the Gooner defence as less attractive prospect than it was. We would also expect Spurs to score in this week’s North London derby and with City facing Villa and then Norwich next week we feel we have a chance of an immediate return on our investment on the City skipper. We’ve chosen not to concentrate on the fact they got hammered at Liverpool in midweek. Decent fixtures, no blank next week and a double game-week on the horizon sealed it.

Captain – Sergio Aguero
One of the easier discussions we have had – with Kun home to an awful Villa side, he is by far and away the leading candidate for the armband this week. And even if the unthinkable happens and he blanks we at least won’t lose much ground as the world and his wife and maybe even his dog will be with us.

Our vice-captain is Harry Kane
If Kun doesn’t feature then Kane will step up – he has a decent record vs Arsenal and Spurs will be all out to cause more damage to the Gooner title hopes as well as bolstere their own chances.

How does my team look this week? I’ve got 2FTs and 1.1 in the bank. I’ve got 12 players to field next gameweek with McCarthy (unlikely to play anyway), Borthwick-Jackson and Payet missing next week. Should I use a transfer and maybe switch Borthwick to someone, do something else or leave as is?

      Raziel says:

With 2 FT’s I’d use at least one? I mean, wtf? Get Kompany or Williams. If midfielder go for Siggy or City mid.

      • igy4 says:

Can’t afford Kompany unless I sell Bellerin. Not really sold on a City midfielder either at the moment, they’re not really lighting up the sky!

        • Raziel says:

Sell Bellerin than. They have a blank in GW30 and face Spurs next. City have awesome fixtures.

        • Raziel says:

Use a FT! The Untied defender, Payet and probably all 3 Gooners won’t play in GW30. Targett is a doubt because of rotation worries. So if Arsenal beat Hull, you are doomed. You’ll have to take a hit or two. Better use 1 ft now.

        • igy4 says:

Thanks Raz! What about Bellerin to Kompany and Sanchez to Firmino. Then next week I’ll have more money to switch Borthwick to a better defender and I can bench Firmino, Ozil and Payet and play the rest?

        • Raziel says:

Dude. Firminho doesn’t play in GW30. If you get him, you will have to do even more transfers for GW30. Look at the blanks before you choose players like that. City have a DGW coming and are playing in GW30, that’s why I am leaning towards them. But def. not replace a GW30 blank b a GW30 blank. 😉

        • igy4 says:

I understand he has a blank in GW30 but that’s why I’d bench him! I’m thinking Firmino will do better this week! I would then only have 3 players not playing in GW30 which considering the lack of games isn’t bad, I can still field 11!

        • Raziel says:

Are you taking into account that Targett might not play. Two Arsenal players that might not play. Firminho whom will not play, the United defender that will not play and Payet. Not even talking about potential injury worries. Shrugs, unless you are sure Firm will grab a goal and an assist this GW, I would never be doing this. But it’s your choice. Sometimes risks like ethat pay off.

        • igy4 says:

I get that Targett may not play but the option would be to take a hit on him. I would only have 1 Arsenal player if I switch both Bellerin and Sanchez this week. I can then bench him and Firmino next week. My FT next week would be to get a playing defender in place of Borthwick and so wouldn’t need to worry about him not playing. This would only leave Payet as my third non playing player so again could bench him and still field 11. Yes I’m not accounting for injuries but that could or could not happen to anyone, it’s an unknown!

        • Raziel says:

          Having a headache. :p

Well, I’ve been planning ahead since GW24 for GW30. Hehe.

But it could all work, I guess.

Go with your gut! Now, I need some time away from here. Head exploding. See ya. And yes, still haven’t made my f-ing move yet. >.< GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

        • igy4 says:

Appreciate your thoughts Raz! Please don’t take my !! As anything rude, I tend to like them instead of full stops!

I’m having a shocking season so am looking to just do something different to everyone else and take the gamble as if I follow the crowd I won’t make up any ground.

With regards to your team I’d much rather get Kompany than Hart if that’s any help.

I have payet ali barkely and 2 of them to play
    What do you think?
Or sell one of them and get sigurdsson with my free transfer ?

      Raziel says:

Depends on the rest of the team. Everton don’t play in GW30, so also keep that in mind. I’m having trouble with using my FT. I actually like my team the way it is.

      • mahelmy says:

        My team
        Forster
        Morgan alderweild daniels
        Mahrez ozil payet barkely
        Vardy aguero kane
Bench : henensey ali belerin wolchied
        What do u think?

      DMC says:

mahelmy – if it helps, I’m going for sigurdsson this week (for affelay) and will bench … wait for it … Vardy! Keeping Alli and Payet on my starting 11!
Watford have the 4th best home defense with 11 goals (spurs/arsenal with 10 and manutd with 7 are the front 3) and although leicester have more goals away from home (28) than in home turf (24) the season trend doesn’t cope with that with just 3 goals in their last four away matches (bar the city one). Watford on the other hand have kept their trend with only 5 conceeded in their last 7 at home, including city, spurs and chelsea in that spell.
I know, #neverbenchvardy, but I also know that to bench alli or payet could cost us too much. Old vardo is due a blank (hides behind the couch)!

Some advice needed please guys. Giroud is annoying me but i’ll leave him for this week and maybe stick him on the bench. These are short term punts as i still have my WC to play so thinking Mert to Kolorov & Payet to Sig, Ayew or Wjinaldum, any thoughts?

    Lloris – (Schwarzer)
    Huth – Olsson – Azpi – (Wollshite) – (Mert)
    Payet – Ozil – Mahrez – Barkley – (Alli)
    Kane – Aguero – Giroud

    • 9.1
      Raziel says:

Kolarov will probably play tomorrow but furthermore he’s a big rotation worry with Clichy playing a lot. Should be Kompany. Payet to Sig could be a good move, one I am considering but I like Payets chances or Everton away. PAYET IS CLASS!

      • Raziel says:

And I’d use the WC before or after a DGW.

        • Lisbonlions67 says:

Cheers mate, i was always planning on using the WC the week before a DGW. Also i didn’t reply as to your post as i headed out, it’s a bugger being on Australian time and playing this game! I ended up doing Mert & Payet to Kompany & Ayew leaving me with.

          Lloris
          Kompany – Olsson – Azpi
          Ozil – Mahrez – Alli – Ayew – Barkley
          Aguero (C) – Kane

          Schwarzer – Huth – Grioud – Wollscheid

    FPL_Addict_31 says:

Anything you’d do with this team? Was thinking if downgrading all I to a 4.5 midfielder and siggy to payet but I’ll wait until after gw 30 for that probably.

      Raziel says:

WTF? Playing Toby ahead of Fuchs? >.<

Team looks good though. Vardy out is also a risk, especially now he's on penalties.

      • DMC says:

Alder is a ML choice there. I see fuchs outscoring him but if alder gets back to CS, BP or even the winner mode I’m screwed for both my opponents have him and will play him. Plus, there’s always the freaking igloo factor and, yes, you guessed it, they both also have him!

Hey guys…am I doomed/screwed with this squad for this gway and the next few gw’s?!!!? Have 2 FT’s and 0.5 miles itb any help is greatly appreciated
