Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 36
As Dinah Washington would have put it, what a difference a ‘game-week’ makes! From the highs of GW34 when we scored an impressive 173pts, GW35 certainly brought us back down to earth as we scored a paltry 39pts. As a result we picked up a red arrow as we slid back to a rank of 130,431. It is however our 2nd highest rank of the season. Yes we realise we are clutching at straws! With only seven games in GW35 it was never going to be a high scoring game-week but after a steady climb up the rankings we had hoped for more than 39pts.
So where did it all go wrong? Well the fact that we only fielded eight players was certainly a contributing factor. We were down to the bare bones even before the game-week kicked off as our bench was made up of players who were not going to feature. The game-week got off to a bad start as de Bruyne was benched ahead of this week’s CL semi-final although this wasn’t a major surprise. Around lunchtime on Saturday news started to emerge that Mamadou Sakho would not feature for Liverpool as he had failed a drugs test, this was confirmed by the club at 1:30pm and we were down to nine players. We were reduced to eight players early on Sunday afternoon when the Arsenal team was announced and Wenger had stuck with Mertesacker over Gabriel. Thanks Arsene.
So where did the 39pts come from? The biggest contributor was Riyad Mahrez who chipped in with 9pts and with Leicester picking up their customary clean sheet his colleague Danny Simpson also weighed in with 6pts. Nacho Monreal also contributed with 6pts. Alexis Sanchez and Sergio Aguero were disappointments as between them they managed just 9pts. We went into Monday night with high hopes for our captain Harry Kane and his sidekick Dele Alli but emerged with just 8pts.
Transfer decision for GW36 – Sold Alli & de Bruyne and bought Payet & Fabregas
With a junkie and a wannabe boxer as part of our squad our hand has been somewhat forced this week. As you can see we have deciced to deal with Alli this week leaving Sakho to rot on the bench although it is likely we will deal with him next week. We have decided to ditch KdB this week as given City’s result on Wednesday night there is every chance he will be be benched ahead of next weeks return leg in Madrid.
While Payet’s form has taken a little dip of late thanks to the form of Andy Carroll up top we have decided that it would be to much of a risk to go into DGW37 without him. Despite the emergence of Carroll, Payet is still a key figure for the Hammers and as we’ve seen over the course of the season he’s deadly from set pieces. Despite picking up three assists in last weeks 4-1 over Bournemouth Fabregas is still something of a gamble. Chelsea’s fixtures are not the greatest but they will be eager to put one over Spurs on Monday and of course they’ve got a double in GW37.
The team in full
Captain – Alexis Sanchez
There was very little discussion or debate surrounding our captain this week In fact there was none! Given the form of our options and their respective opponents Sanchez seems like a no brainer to us. We realise Norwich are scrapping for their lives but they will miss Timm Klose and we fully expect Alexis & Co to heap misery on Norwich.
Our Vice-captain is Dimitri
Good luck for this week from the FF247 Team Committee.

Hello All:
I play in a league where we draft players, and my team is below. :Should I captain Aguero, Ozil or Payet? Thanks and have a great week.
Gomes
Bellerin Stones Yedlin
Ozil Lanzini Bolasie Payet
Aguero Deeney Pelle
Bench: Schmeichel Rojo Walker Noble
That’s a toughie. Aguero has decent form but a tough fixture, Ozil has a great fixture but no form, and Payet has OK but not great form, and ditto for his fixture.
I’d toss a coin if I were you
Seriously, I’d go for Payet of the three, but not really much in it as any of them could score big or completely flop!
My dilemma exactly. Perhaps it’s Ozil’s turn to shine. Norwich are awful.
Sanchez! lol Concerns over aguero playin time but aguero is aguero. Southampton conceded 2 against villa! . Ozil could be a good choice Arsenal wise. Ozil then pal
Thanks. Perhaps it will be Ozil.
Play 3:
A. Bellerin home to Norwich
B. Kosc home to Norwich
C. PVA away to Stoke
D. Simpson away to Man U
E. Smalling home to Leicester
Thanks!
A,B and C, right?
D and E will both concede I reckon
5 nice choices. But yep I would go with A B and C
personally James I fancy United clean sheet and Leicester to concede. And another thought is Norwich to score Aswell against gooners. Who knows maybe I’m dreaming. Pva smalling and 1 Arsenal defender. Oh how wrong I might be good luck and go with your gut. My minds scrambled with it all and can’t make my own decisions
With defense, I would always spread the cover mate..
A, C and E..
Nice 1 lads. I’ve gone for Townsend and pva in for Ali and sakho. Just general team wise am I good to go? I really think united are going to score and win against leicester so I’ve opted for pva instead of Morgan good move? Also I’ve opted for iwobi instead of coutinho regarding rotation? Thanks guys any help appreciated.
Lads throw me a bone please so I can go to bed and stop overthinking my choices haha
That is exactly what I would do mate.. Although as crazy as it would seem, I would go for Robles over De gea.. I think both united and leicester would score, and since u have smalling, its always good to spread the defense cover..
Going to bring in Gomes but would you ditch Robles or Migs ?
Robles for me mate. Just don’t rate Everton what so ever. Apart from 2nd half in fa cup showed glimmer of fight
Hi Elle.
Tricky one that!
I heard Robles would miss the home matches but should play 2 (away) matches in 37.
But if interested I think Watford would do better in 37 than Everton. I can’t see Watford getting cleanie against Sunderland in 38. .Liverpool play against the Baggies which they should do well if they don’t rotate their squad.
So don’t know.
Prob keep Migs.
Do you think it’s worth taking a 4ph for Gomes?
I am thinkng Robles out. For Gomes, yes.
I wouldn’t ditch either of them mate.. Don’t do it this week.. Save the transfer..
Good choices guys. WIth any luck Cesc will set them all up for Hazard’s hat-trick since I picked him instead of Cesc
Start Morgan (utd) or Smalling (LEI)? Have Gabriel starting so other will probably fill in but in hoping that Gabriel does play who would you start out of these two?
Smalling for me.
