Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 36

As Dinah Washington would have put it, what a difference a ‘game-week’ makes! From the highs of GW34 when we scored an impressive 173pts, GW35 certainly brought us back down to earth as we scored a paltry 39pts. As a result we picked up a red arrow as we slid back to a rank of 130,431. It is however our 2nd highest rank of the season. Yes we realise we are clutching at straws! With only seven games in GW35 it was never going to be a high scoring game-week but after a steady climb up the rankings we had hoped for more than 39pts.
So where did it all go wrong? Well the fact that we only fielded eight players was certainly a contributing factor. We were down to the bare bones even before the game-week kicked off as our bench was made up of players who were not going to feature. The game-week got off to a bad start as de Bruyne was benched ahead of this week’s CL semi-final although this wasn’t a major surprise. Around lunchtime on Saturday news started to emerge that Mamadou Sakho would not feature for Liverpool as he had failed a drugs test, this was confirmed by the club at 1:30pm and we were down to nine players. We were reduced to eight players early on Sunday afternoon when the Arsenal team was announced and Wenger had stuck with Mertesacker over Gabriel. Thanks Arsene.
So where did the 39pts come from? The biggest contributor was Riyad Mahrez who chipped in with 9pts and with Leicester picking up their customary clean sheet his colleague Danny Simpson also weighed in with 6pts. Nacho Monreal also contributed with 6pts. Alexis Sanchez and Sergio Aguero were disappointments as between them they managed just 9pts. We went into Monday night with high hopes for our captain Harry Kane and his sidekick Dele Alli but emerged with just 8pts.

Transfer decision for GW36 – Sold Alli & de Bruyne and bought Payet & Fabregas

With a junkie and a wannabe boxer as part of our squad our hand has been somewhat forced this week. As you can see we have deciced to deal with Alli this week leaving Sakho to rot on the bench although it is likely we will deal with him next week. We have decided to ditch KdB this week as given City’s result on Wednesday night there is every chance he will be be benched ahead of next weeks return leg in Madrid.

While Payet’s form has taken a little dip of late thanks to the form of Andy Carroll up top we have decided that it would be to much of a risk to go into DGW37 without him. Despite the emergence of Carroll, Payet is still a key figure for the Hammers and as we’ve seen over the course of the season he’s deadly from set pieces. Despite picking up three assists in last weeks 4-1 over Bournemouth Fabregas is still something of a gamble. Chelsea’s fixtures are not the greatest but they will be eager to put one over Spurs on Monday and of course they’ve got a double in GW37.

Captain – Alexis Sanchez

There was very little discussion or debate surrounding our captain this week In fact there was none! Given the form of our options and their respective opponents Sanchez seems like a no brainer to us. We realise Norwich are scrapping for their lives but they will miss Timm Klose and we fully expect Alexis & Co to heap misery on Norwich.

Our Vice-captain is Dimitri

Good luck for this week from the FF247 Team Committee.

    Morning,
    I’m stuck!! I need money!
    PVA or Cresswell
If I can’t afford Payet who is the next best WHU mid, noble, Antonio, Lanzini??
8pt hit Sturridge, Alli, sakho in for Carroll, firmino, Cresswell getting Willian next week???
Or just stick with WHU cheaper mid and Cresswell for 4pt?
    Hope this makes sense x

Team looks good as is but Firmino to Eriksen could be really good to cut out the rotation risk. I’m unsure on Sturridge because we need him in Thursday but we didn’t play him last week so he’s fresh it’s a tough one.
