Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 38
Oh Andy! Andy, Andy, Andy… You big donkey. You have no idea how many seasons you wrecked last week! It was all there on a plate. Swansea on holidays and resting players, Man United struggling to defend crosses, you on a hot streak, 6 goals in the previous 7 games. And you decide to lay an egg on the all important ‘triple captain’ week for us. Thanks. It’s not even like your team didn’t score, they got 4 over the piece. Even an assist would have been appreciated, but no. And now everyone’s going to sell you this week in a fit of rage and you’re going to score 2 aren’t you, we just know it! Andy aside, our ‘DGW’ side had 8 players playing twice which equated to 19 chances as such. We scored 84 which means that they averaged just 4.4 points each. When you put it like that it’s pretty poor. When we tell you that Patrick van Aanholt weighed in with over 20% of those points then that probably says it all really! We’ve not really seen many, if any, ‘monster’ scores though like we did in DGW34, with some approaching the 200 mark, so perhaps we escaped lightly. Our overall rank jumped up some 18k places to 121k. A far cry from where we expected and wanted to be but it is what it is and so let’s see if we can make one final push to crack that 100k mark this week…
Transfer decision for GW37 – Sold – Riyad Mahrez; Bought – Sadio Mane
We didn’t really need to do a transfer this week, for probably the first time this season, and so we just had a look around at the players available and their respective fixtures and said “who’s most likely to go off on one if the mood takes them?!”. The answer was Mane. The Saints are the current in form team, scoring freely, they’re at home and are playing a Palace side who will have more than one eye on next weeks FA Cup final, both in terms of psychology and actual team selection. Tadic was the other option as he’s been firing too but Mane tends to go off in bursts and if there’s goals around then he’s likely to be involved in the fun. Especially when there’s a transfer window pending and this is his last chance to showcase himself. Not that we are suggesting anything but there does seem to be a direct correlation between his output and them windows!
The team in full
The team pretty much picks itself. It’s always difficult to bench Patrick ‘get him because he once hit the post with a free-kick’ van Aanholt but basically if Carlsberg picked defences then this week they’d pick ours. We’ve had a last minute change with the Payet news but nothing too taxing as it simply means Lanzini takes his place in the 11. We’re pretty happy with that lot but we’ve all thought that a few times this season so let’s see what happens!
Captain – Alexis Sanchez
For whatever reason Arsenal have a tradition of suddenly turning on the style on the last day of the season and a home game against a very poor and very relegated Villa just feels like a perfect storm!
Our Vice-captain is Sergio Aguero
Good luck for this week from the FF247 Team Committee. We thank you for sticking with us in what has been a very trying season! Our first season of doing this saw us riding relatively high and we finished about 5k but this one has been a disaster from start to finish! Pretty much everything we touched turned to sh*t if we’re being honest! We are just glad that we aren’t alone in that though as it has been the same for a good many. We hope we kept you entertained along the way though as we are always nothing if not honest about our feelings!

Great so it looks like my rival has brought in Tadic same as me.If you were chasing who would you stick the armband on ? Aguero or Giroud ? Also would you start Townsend or Mahrez ? Rival has Mahrez but not Townsend.
I’d cap Giroud, he’s a flat track bully. And it wouldn’t surprise me if Townsend turned it on against Tott
So my current team is:
DDG
Gabriel Monreal PvA
Sanchez TC, Coutinho Fab Payet
Aguero Kane Rashford
Darlow Lennon Evans Delaney
0.0m itb 1FT
What is the story with Payet?
Should I rather bring in either Mane or Tadic? Both on great form… Tadic constant over the last 4 games and Mane can go big… however Mane’s game time is unknown…
So what should I do?
He’s injured and didn’t travel on the team coach to Stoke .Mane more explosive Tadic more steady and consistent.Flick a coin but if you are chasing probably Mane.
BB,
Think you right.
Im trailing 1 by 40 and leading another by 33…
Might be a better bet going with Mane, just pray he starts
Worth a 8 point hit? Playing Darlow and hoping he starts. Plan is this.
Firm-Payet-Simpson to Tadic-Mane-Kos
depends on your mini- league situation but just looking at your team moves sound good.
Raz sounds good to me Cry won’t turn up today so they should be in the points Sou will want to fin strong 😉
Are you chasing or leading in ML
go for it if your not bothered about league positions
However you’ve got a fab overall rank, how would that impact your finishing overall rank.
Not chasing, if anything leading. Most important league already won though. But what gives me more chances of a higher rank? The hit? Or not hit?
I could also take just 1 hit and just replace Payet and play Iwobi as fourth mid.
Raz
Just do the Firmino & Payet out for Mane & Tadic in moves for -4
Bigpopz, how about I just play Iwobi and just take out Payet? For no hits?
That sounds better Raz.
Should I take -4 hit replacing Payet with Tadic?
That’ll mean 14 points behind my ML rival.
If Payet doesn’t play I’ve got Defoe on bench, but not sure he’s 100% gunna play either…
Ffs wot to do…!
Bigpopz
Why Tadic instead of Mane?
Mane is more explosive
Petepan
Already done Mane in for Courtino earlier in the week.
I’d do Payet to Tadic in a heartbeat but worried about -4 pts hit as I’m only 10 behind my ML rival?
Ahhh Bigpopz…
Now Im thinking of the other for Coutinho for a 4PH haha
Bring in one of tadic/ Mane I would say, better to have someone playing than not
Bigpopz does your rival have Payet if so its worth it as you have already said Defoe might not start
Silvers
Yea my 2nd place rival has Payet
My 1st place rival has 3 Pool players that probly won’t play so my rivals will probly tinker with sides hopefully taking hits.
Hard one. Coin toss. I have the same problem. I don’t know what the fuck to do. But sounds like a good move.
Afternoon all will Moreno start or should I start Van Aan ????
Silvers
Doubt he plays mate given the Europa Final, could be wrong though!
Carroll out for Deeney or Long for a -4 hit?
Carroll should play today, so I don’t see why. Would be an emotional choice since he was unlucky in the DGW.
CARROLL Unlucky Raz he was useless as most TC members will agree!!
Long out of the two
You got burnt too then Raz? 😉
I could go with Deeney for Defoe as I’m not sure what is going on with him now.
Either could work out well Carroll but depending on your league situation maybe just hold Carroll.
