Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 38

Oh Andy! Andy, Andy, Andy… You big donkey. You have no idea how many seasons you wrecked last week! It was all there on a plate. Swansea on holidays and resting players, Man United struggling to defend crosses, you on a hot streak, 6 goals in the previous 7 games. And you decide to lay an egg on the all important ‘triple captain’ week for us. Thanks. It’s not even like your team didn’t score, they got 4 over the piece. Even an assist would have been appreciated, but no. And now everyone’s going to sell you this week in a fit of rage and you’re going to score 2 aren’t you, we just know it! Andy aside, our ‘DGW’ side had 8 players playing twice which equated to 19 chances as such. We scored 84 which means that they averaged just 4.4 points each. When you put it like that it’s pretty poor. When we tell you that Patrick van Aanholt weighed in with over 20% of those points then that probably says it all really! We’ve not really seen many, if any, ‘monster’ scores though like we did in DGW34, with some approaching the 200 mark, so perhaps we escaped lightly. Our overall rank jumped up some 18k places to 121k. A far cry from where we expected and wanted to be but it is what it is and so let’s see if we can make one final push to crack that 100k mark this week…

Transfer decision for GW37 – Sold – Riyad Mahrez; Bought – Sadio Mane
We didn’t really need to do a transfer this week, for probably the first time this season, and so we just had a look around at the players available and their respective fixtures and said “who’s most likely to go off on one if the mood takes them?!”. The answer was Mane. The Saints are the current in form team, scoring freely, they’re at home and are playing a Palace side who will have more than one eye on next weeks FA Cup final, both in terms of psychology and actual team selection. Tadic was the other option as he’s been firing too but Mane tends to go off in bursts and if there’s goals around then he’s likely to be involved in the fun. Especially when there’s a transfer window pending and this is his last chance to showcase himself. Not that we are suggesting anything but there does seem to be a direct correlation between his output and them windows!

The team in full

The team pretty much picks itself. It’s always difficult to bench Patrick ‘get him because he once hit the post with a free-kick’ van Aanholt but basically if Carlsberg picked defences then this week they’d pick ours. We’ve had a last minute change with the Payet news but nothing too taxing as it simply means Lanzini takes his place in the 11. We’re pretty happy with that lot but we’ve all thought that a few times this season so let’s see what happens!

Captain – Alexis Sanchez
For whatever reason Arsenal have a tradition of suddenly turning on the style on the last day of the season and a home game against a very poor and very relegated Villa just feels like a perfect storm!

Our Vice-captain is Sergio Aguero

Good luck for this week from the FF247 Team Committee. We thank you for sticking with us in what has been a very trying season! Our first season of doing this saw us riding relatively high and we finished about 5k but this one has been a disaster from start to finish! Pretty much everything we touched turned to sh*t  if we’re being honest! We are just glad that we aren’t alone in that though as it has been the same for a good many. We hope we kept you entertained along the way though as we are always nothing if not honest about our feelings!

    Put on wrong thread.

    Looks like Payets out
Also watching goals on Sunday on sky with Sam Alladyce as guest, saying he’s starting 4 youngsters
including young goalie Pickford who’ll replace Mannone.
Whatmore upfront plus a couple of kids on the wings…!
    So..
Mannone owners need a playing goalie,
Defoe owners be prepared for a guest appearance, unless Big Sam plays 2 upfront.
PVA owners maybe at risk if he’s classed as a winger,

    Ok guys
    I’m 2 pts behind 2nd and 10 pts behind 1st I’m my ML.
Trying to resist the urge for a Hit
In my position do I risk -4 to do Payet to Tadic
My Problem is my bench can’t absorb Payet / Defoe / PVA / not playing.

    Last minute transfer options;

Midfield at the moment – HAZARD, LINGARD, ANTONIO, PAYET, MILNER of which I need to play 4.

    1) MILNER to TADIC (or MANE) for no hit.
    2) HAZARD and MILNER to SANCHEZ and TADIC (or MANE) for -4
    3) HAZARD, MILNER and PAYET to SANCHEZ, TADIC and MANE for -8

70 odd points ahead in ML. Which option would you choose? Thanks.

Couldn’t u do Milner & Payet to Mane & Tadic.

Hazard will start and he’s in red hot form !

70pts ahead in ML I’d go nuts on hits.

      • twinkletoes says:

I could do that, I just feel very nervous not having Sanchez. Will Sanchez out score Hazard by at least 4 points? I have a feeling he will.

        • RedVT says:

Hey twinkletoes, I’d get rid of Payet first and then go in order of your most risky players. No way I’d sell I’d sell Hazard in form and at home, but there might be questions over Milner playing (who knows with Klopp!) and Lingard’s points potential.

        • twinkletoes says:

          Thanks Bigpopz and VT.

I can’t see Milner or Payet playing so I might do those 2 and do without Sanchez although I will be cowering behind the sofa until 5pm in the hope he doesn’t go goal crazy.

          Thanks

Hey guys, with Payet out does that increase the likelihood of Sakho starting on the wing and Carroll starting up top? Or are we still thinking big Andy is a risk to start for today? With Payet out and Willian a doubt I’m trying to put my problems in order of importance before I make any moves. Also, if anyone else has advice for post 46 on the last page I would GREATLY appreciate it- don’t want to mess things up on the last day!

      twinkletoes says:

Just replied to 46. Don’t think I would want to chance a -8 in your situation.

      • RedVT says:

Thanks twinkletoes, I appreciate it. I agree about a -8 point hit, but what has me really stuck is whether I should take a -4 to drop Payet AND Willian for Tadic and Mane, or if I should just get rid of Payet and have King sub on against Man United if Willian doesn’t feature. I guess it comes down to whether Tadic/Mane will score more than King + 4 points and I’m just not sure! It’s doing my head in. laugh
