Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 38

Oh Andy! Andy, Andy, Andy… You big donkey. You have no idea how many seasons you wrecked last week! It was all there on a plate. Swansea on holidays and resting players, Man United struggling to defend crosses, you on a hot streak, 6 goals in the previous 7 games. And you decide to lay an egg on the all important ‘triple captain’ week for us. Thanks. It’s not even like your team didn’t score, they got 4 over the piece. Even an assist would have been appreciated, but no. And now everyone’s going to sell you this week in a fit of rage and you’re going to score 2 aren’t you, we just know it! Andy aside, our ‘DGW’ side had 8 players playing twice which equated to 19 chances as such. We scored 84 which means that they averaged just 4.4 points each. When you put it like that it’s pretty poor. When we tell you that Patrick van Aanholt weighed in with over 20% of those points then that probably says it all really! We’ve not really seen many, if any, ‘monster’ scores though like we did in DGW34, with some approaching the 200 mark, so perhaps we escaped lightly. Our overall rank jumped up some 18k places to 121k. A far cry from where we expected and wanted to be but it is what it is and so let’s see if we can make one final push to crack that 100k mark this week…

Transfer decision for GW37 – Sold – Riyad Mahrez; Bought – Sadio Mane
We didn’t really need to do a transfer this week, for probably the first time this season, and so we just had a look around at the players available and their respective fixtures and said “who’s most likely to go off on one if the mood takes them?!”. The answer was Mane. The Saints are the current in form team, scoring freely, they’re at home and are playing a Palace side who will have more than one eye on next weeks FA Cup final, both in terms of psychology and actual team selection. Tadic was the other option as he’s been firing too but Mane tends to go off in bursts and if there’s goals around then he’s likely to be involved in the fun. Especially when there’s a transfer window pending and this is his last chance to showcase himself. Not that we are suggesting anything but there does seem to be a direct correlation between his output and them windows!

The team in full

The team pretty much picks itself. It’s always difficult to bench Patrick ‘get him because he once hit the post with a free-kick’ van Aanholt but basically if Carlsberg picked defences then this week they’d pick ours. We’ve had a last minute change with the Payet news but nothing too taxing as it simply means Lanzini takes his place in the 11. We’re pretty happy with that lot but we’ve all thought that a few times this season so let’s see what happens!

Captain – Alexis Sanchez
For whatever reason Arsenal have a tradition of suddenly turning on the style on the last day of the season and a home game against a very poor and very relegated Villa just feels like a perfect storm!

Our Vice-captain is Sergio Aguero

Good luck for this week from the FF247 Team Committee. We thank you for sticking with us in what has been a very trying season! Our first season of doing this saw us riding relatively high and we finished about 5k but this one has been a disaster from start to finish! Pretty much everything we touched turned to sh*t  if we’re being honest! We are just glad that we aren’t alone in that though as it has been the same for a good many. We hope we kept you entertained along the way though as we are always nothing if not honest about our feelings!

Thoughts on this team please? Currently 30 points clear in my mini league so feeling fairly confident. Only worry is his Martial who is in decent form but feel like it would be too drastic to bring Martial in for Sturridge. However speaking of Sturridge I feel like starting Firmino and Sturridge will backfire so thoughts on Siggy to Tadic and putting Firmino on the bench?

    Morning all,
So I am 70 points adrift from the top 2 (3points between them) in my money league with 4th place 70points behind me. Good situation for some risks. I have already taken a -4 to bring in Mane & Kane. Should I stick & accept that Mahrez & cresswell will likely come off the bench …… Or do I risk another hit? Maybe to bring in Tadic? I figure I have nothing loose but not sure of Tadic.

Okay, I feel fucking doomed. This is my team. The Payet injury really messed me up. I don’t know what to do now. I have 1 ft! I was gonna do Ward to Gabriel but I now have a lot of doubts in my team: PvA, Firminho, Iwobi, Payet and Carroll. What to do? I will have no Arsenal defenders so Arsenal could fuck me over.

Hey Raz, that’s a tough spot but I think there’s a good chance that Iwobi will start. Since you’ve got Simpson there for defensive backup I’d cover Payet with someone who has the best points potential. Tadic or Mane probably, which is exactly the move I’m thinking of. More people brought in Tadic I think so I may go with him as I have a halfway decent rank and I’m leading my ML by 23 points.

I also have Simpson and Cresswell Raz. Are you sure about starting Cresswell over Simpson? Cresswell was total crap for the DGW so I’m hesitant about starting him. My rival has him and he does have an offensive threat, so maybe I should start him over Simpson…

      • Raziel says:

Ummm well, WHU was good versus United. WHU have something to play for, Stoke not. It’s unlikely for Chelsea not to score in their last homegame, plus Hazard is on fire. But you never know. I already hate this gameweek.

The whole Payet thing has messed us all up! Everyone seems pretty certain he won’t play but nothing official. I wasn’t aware of the Carroll issue ….. At this rate WHU won’t have any players on the pitch! Not sure about Firmino – hasn’t Klopp used him when he has rested others? Sorry Raz I’m no help smile

Hey guys, how’s it going? So I was on really late last night but was hoping to get some more advice before making any moves. I’m 23 points up in my ML and the guy chasing me has used 1 FT and spent .7 on it. I have 1 FT and .6 ITB and was going to do Mane/Tadic for Payet, but I also have Willian who is a concern. Would you take a hit to replace Willian or let King against United sub on for him if he can’t play? Do I need to get Hazard or one of the Watford strikers to block his differentials? I’m worried that if Willian is injured and Carroll doesn’t start I’ll be in bad shape, don’t wan’t to blow it on the last weekend! But also don’t want to take a hit if it’s not needed.

I don’t think I’d want to do a -8 if you do have players on the bench who will definitely play. Payet or Willian out for Tadic or Mane is worth it.

      Raziel says:

Your team is looking solid, to be honest.

I’d probably replace Payet with Mane or Tadic. Tadic on corners/free kicks and penalty duty right? Hmmm. Mane can explode though,, but also do nothing. Hard one.

      • RedVT says:

Would you take a hit here Raz or play King away to United? I was thinking of getting Tadic for Payet and maybe Mane for Willian for -4. But keeping those 4 points and playing King might be my best bet (if he plays that is!).

It’s risky though, a little bad luck and I could be playing a 4-3-3 with some shit defenders (I’m looking at you Cresswell and Delaney).

        • Raziel says:

Hmmm, for me it will be a last minute decision. I might take an 8 point hit, the way it stands now.

I will take a close look which players come out of the bus. What if Mensah plays? With Darmian injured, it could happen, right?? Let him play this game and Valencia the cup game. Sighs. Fucking LvG.

Anyway. I was thinking Firm-Payet-Simpson to Tadic-Mane-Kos or Firm-Payet to Tadic and Ozil. The first for a 8 point hit, the second for a 4 point hit. Watcha reckon? I am not sure for myself, so I can’t tell you what to do. HAHA!

    Stuff says:

Help please. 26 points in front. 1ft 1.5m bank.
Firminio to tadic. Defoe to kane for -4??

Anyone else captaining Mane over Sanchez or Aguero?

    Just me?
