Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 4
Another week and another meh performance. While we did get that coveted green arrow, it wasn’t anything to write home about. We jumped a bit over 230k spots and ended up in a very unrespectable 2,723,655 in the overall. Oh well, could have been worse I guess, yeah it really could have. In the end our four point hit gave us a net positive of 1 point, after we total the points of the players sold as well as the players brought in and we deduct the hit. In the end the moves were not just about one week as the buying of Alexis and in particular Aguero are in our long term plans. Mahrez who facilitated the moves because of his price contributed the best score of our game-week. Because of his price and amazing production, he is a key piece to the team, a bit like Kane was last season.
At this point we can see many a player that we wish we could transfer out, but we want to show restraint and hold that wildcard. It was always our thought to at least make it until the International break, before we contemplated using it. We will continue to monitor the transfer market and see if anymore Pedro type signings occur and that coupled with the shape of our team will guide us in finding the best possible time to activate our WC.
So now onto our transfer plans and team selection for the upcoming GW.

Transfer(s) for GW4 Sold Mane, Bought Yaya Toure
Before we explain the reasoning behind our transfer we should mention that as things currently stand we intend to activate our wildcard after this weekend’s games. Should our team turn in an impressive performance this weekend we will of course reconsider this decision, but given performances to date that is unlikely!
With our wildcard looming we are in a position to take a one week punt on a player. Although given Yaya’s form to date it can hardly be described as a punt! Mane & Southampton have been a disappointment to date so we’ve decided to cut him loose this week. He was on the bench for the Saints on Thursday night and despite the fact that they were in desperate need of a goal he wasn’t thrown into the action. This suggests that his injury is worse than we were led to believe or he’s not in the right frame of mind given the interest in him from United. Thanks for the five points Sadio! Watford haven’t been the shambles at the back that many expected them to be but we just can’t ignore City’s form and therefore we’ve drafted in Yaya to go with Sterling & Aguero…odds on a scoreless draw at The Etihad?!!

Our team in full…
Team Selection
We have decided to start Per Mertesacker this week in the hope that he makes the Arsenal starting XI, although with this highly unlikely we expect Coates to climb off the bench! Reece Oxford wasn’t even considered so he’ll occupy 3rd spot on the bench. The big decision this week was the choice between Milner & Sakho. We went with Milner on the basis that Liverpool are at home, while Sakho only seems interested in attacking his mrs!!

Captain
Our captain this week is Sergio Aguero
Our vice-captain is Riyad Mahrez

Kevin de Bruyne good or bad for Yaya/Silva returns? Which of these 2 mids would you prefer to have if de Bruyne comes in?
That would be the million dollar question, Raz. No way of predicting until it happens! With the way City are playing right now and the players they are bringing in, everyone in the team’s gonna be scoring points all season!! Except Sagna…Haha.
Sagna got 3 freaking BPS in his last game. 😉
Silva I reckon. The more brilliant players around him the better for City I guess. Also means less responsibility placed on Yaya’s attacking returns.
Would anyone recommend taking a -8 hit?
I want city midfield coverage but to afford anyone i need to downgrade Hazard. I am also debating getting Kolorov too
My rational behind this is Kolorov and Pedro both going up in price tonight.. and if Kolorov gets a clean sheet thats my -8 more or less made up.
or should i stick with my defence and just get silva and pedro
havent a clue!!
What’s your current team?
And I’m pretty sure Pedro isn’t going up tonight.
Schmiechel
Clyne, Richards, Cedric
Hazard, Clyne, Depay, Ayew , Mahrez
Aguero, Benteke , Jerome
even if pedro is staying in price, i stil need to sell Hazard to get some funds to allow a city midfielder
Who’s the 2nd Clyne?
If you’re set on City midfielder just get Yaya or Silva in for Hazard and leave it at that.
That time has wildcard written all over it.
oh lol i meant cazorla hahah!!
Who? What? Where?
Why? When?
Good to go? Have 1ft and 0.3m itb
I would say yes. Good team. Wildcarded in GW2-3?
GW3 had to be done! Wasn’t sure whether to ditch Pelle tonight, but I think I’ll give him one more chance to shine
Dude, they’re playing Norwich. For Pelle and Soton it will be key that Mane play, also Clasie return could mean essential. Really postive for FPL owners that they’re out of the annoying EL.
Okay, naked wildcard team here. I actually don’t have a lot of time to play with it anymore. Some changes will be made to it still: Target/STaylor/Yaya/Goalie might go. I want Depay and some other defenders there. Any suggestions?
Aaaah yes, have 2m in the bank. 😉
Raz, spend 1m to upgrade Targett & Taylor.
Tnx mate? Any suggestions? Francis and?
Martin or even one of the Watford lads?
Muniesa is a good option but I wonder if he will keep his starting spot if Shawcross returns. Do you know?
Also, STaylor is really still on my mind. I think Newcastle looked way better at the back with him as CB next to Col.
Surely Cameron will give way before Muniesa…
Tnx mate, will see what I can do. Which one do you prefer by the way? Yaya or Silva? Sighs. Both can be great but maybe against smaller teams Silva has more tools to create stuff in narrow spaces?
Welcome, though it’s just my assumption based on how good Muniesa and Cameron are and also things I’ve read so take it with a pinch of salt – I was persuaded off Whittaker because of Wisdom supposedly taking his spot, and also to get Mings instead of Francis based on advice here #NotBitter 😉
It’s a hard answer that too – Silva is undoubtedly my preferred City mid, but as he cost significantly more than Yaya who has also hit a nice little streak I opted for Yaya instead so I could get the team I wanted. Can’t see how you can get Silva and Depay in there given you have Sanchez and Pedro too, so I’d have to say go Yaya for now.
That’s pretty damm good for 2 million in the bank. This does need to be spent though
Tnx. Any suggestions? Really hate not having Depay with his average of 4.7 shots per game. 😉
Raz I second Kops suggestion! Keep maybe one mill in the bank but that’s it.
My suggestions would Francis & Munisea.
Will Muniesa keep his spot when Shawcross returns?
Also, if I drop Yaya for Depay I could upgrade a defender to Sagna and play with 2 City for the last 3 remaining games Sagna is a starter (for sure). They have kind fixtures.
Opinions please.
Should I play 4-3-3 with Francis as my 4th defender or 3-4-3 with Milner as 4th mid?
Thoughts on playing triple captain for Aguero?
Thanks!
I see Bo conceding a goal versus Leicester, don’t you? Milner has a bigger chance at scoring/assisting himself. So me personally, wouldn’t bench Milner in this team. Furthermore, team looks solid.
