Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 19

All 10 fixtures in one day is the way we like it. With such a quick turnaround, there is no time to mope around and contemplate destroying your team because a Frenchman decided to stick his head somewhere other than between a woman’s legs. It was a high scoring game-week for many and the FF247 site team was not about to be left out in the cold. So let’s get around the grounds and see what our starting 11 produced. In goal we had trusty Joe Hart. His hands are the best around, we particularly like it when he goes out to punch a ball, sooooo secure in the air. :whatever:

Transitioning over to our defence we put the microscope on our SUPER HIGH priced jewel Leighton Baines. Frankly the only thing we can say about our relationship with him is that we are keeping him because we think he is a good luck charm. I know it sounds a bit crazy, but we still own him so any justification for said ownership would probably sound crazier. So yeah, he is our lucky rabbit’s foot. If you have been keeping up with our site articles you will know that we said that Toby Alderweireld would score a goal. We never specified when, but we feel this is a good time to remind you all that we said it. However don’t go kneeling before us, remember we still own Baines. Our last place in defence was taken up by Taylor or Naylor(for the hip crowd) from Swansea. He was able to garner a bonus point to go along with his clean sheet. In a week with very few clean sheets, this was a welcomed inclusion to our game-week.

Moving along to our midfield. Stewart Downing failed to deliver a goal or an assist for the first time since we have owned him. To be fair to him though he was facing the vaunted Chelsea side. So he is forgiven, in part because the rest of his midfield mates picked up the slack. The Viking Eriksen scored the winner for Spurs, but more importantly scored 8 points for our side. His 61 points when playing away are tops in FPL. Our new signing David Silva was under a lot of pressure to deliver. As our transfer out of Hazard for him looked to backfire after the Belgian was able to deliver an assist in the opening fixture. However the Spanish maestro quickly turned our frown around as he not only matched the assist, but added a goal and the 3 bonus to give him 8 more points on the game-week than our departee. The last of our current fantastic four in the midfield is the dirty one, Alexis Sanchez. Who by the way was our captain. Let us just say after some of the scoring we saw during the first 9 fixtures it was a scary site to see Alexis miss a penalty. However we knew…ahhh who the hell are we kidding, we were petrified. This meant a certain plummeting down the standings if he did not deliver. He soon shook off his 5 year old type shot on his penalty and was able to deliver a goal and an assist. After the negative and positive points he was able to hand us a double figure game and when multiplied it gave us 20. Another successful captaincy if we do say so ourselves.

Bony was able to double his output from the last time we fielded him. Unfortunately he only scored 1 point last time. So once again he disappointed us, but the same can’t be said of the Charlie “Milkman” Austin. The man just continues to deliver and his impressive 10 goals in his last 9 starts coupled with his price makes him a very popular figure in the FF247 offices. Speaking of popular I bring you Diego Costa and by popular I mean most owned in his case. He might not be a crowd favourite, but his first double figure game since week 4 will alleviate some of the stench that has been circulating around him and his production. On a side note the ever well behaved Costa managed to not get a yellow card this time, call it a belated Christmas miracle.

We scored 85 points for the week. We moved up 355 places and now sit in a global position of 643rd. This is our highest ranking of the season and hopefully we can continue to climb higher.

Transfer(s) for GW18 So to confirm our transfer we have – Sold Kyle Bartley for Pablo Zabaleta We know that the transfer could have some possible rotation in his team, but we could not pass up the chance to have Zabaleta feature against Burnley for us and with the rest he’s just had, hopefully against Sunderland also on New Year’s day. We think he is worth the transfer and hope he goes forward a lot more than our dear friend Baines has been lately.

Our team in full… Captain Our captain this week is Charlie Austin He has earned this opportunity with his home displays and considering he gave us a hat trick of happiness last time we captained him, we felt he was the man for the job again. Please no head-butts Charlie. Our Vice Captain this week is David Silva.

The team in text format is –
Hart
Zabaleta, Hutton, Baines
Sanchez, Silva, Eriksen, Downing
Austin (c), Costa, Bony
Bench: Krul. Taylor, Alderweireld, Boyd.

Hi All, thinking of making certain changes to my team
    1. Yaya toure for Silva as Silva would score higher and hes cheaper
    2. O shea for clichy (cant afford Zabaletta); or Elliot for man utd de Gea.
These transfers requires taking a 4 point hit. Should i wait for YAYA to go AFCON before purchasing Silva? should i purchase clichy or de Gea??? My team below:

I wouldn’t be taking a -4 there gbola. You’ve got plenty to see you through this week. A few are switching Yaya to Silva but it’s mainly to free up funds for other key moves, mostly a forward. I can see the Clichy thing but you’ve already got 4 defenders from which to pick 3 and they all look ok. Certainly wouldn’t do it for De Gea as you have Guzan who’s at home.

Crystal Palace manager been sacked? That can either mean good or bad news for QPR. I hope and think good. Sometimes, the week the manager is sacked they do really well. Sighs. We’ll see. They’re allowed to score a few times. Just as long as Austin is a few times on the score sheet himself.

Team for this week below. Am thinking I need more defensive cover as Bartley, Davies and Chambers didn’t play last week and with rotations it’s good to have a strong bench this time of year. So considering the below options:

    1: hold FT
2: Hutton or Clark in for Davies
3: Benteke and Zabaleta in for Van Persie and Bartley
    4: Something else

    Thoughts please? Thanks!

Oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Your bench sucks man. And the bench is the most important thing since you can’t tell who will be rested the next few games. I really wouldn’t touch someone like RvP, if I would deal with a player it would be either Davies or Bartley, most preferably Bartley since Davies has a chance, I think Bartley has small/to no chance now Hernandez is back/or whatever the dude is called.

      • kaumil says:

moreover chamber is also warming the bench

        • Raziel says:

Lol, didn’t even notice that one. He most likely has 3 non-starting defenders. Maybe more, even Steven Taylor runs into a goalpost again.

      • Robin Friday says:

Yeah the bench is terrible. Have 1FT and 0.1 in the bank. RVP is my differential but an expensive one! Would love to get rid of Bartley but no one else really in that price range who is worth having. So thinking option 3 is the best bet squad wise. But don’t want to get rid of RVP really. Dilemma!

        • Raziel says:

Dude, you have 3 or 4 non-starting defenders. You worry about RvP? Seriously? Get your priority’s straight. You just have 1 FT?

        • Robin Friday says:

Getting RVP out would free up funds for a City defender though. But I think I’ll go Davies to Clark or Vlaar this week and leave it at that. Thanks for the advice. Sometimes you need someone else to say it like it is! We all spend far too long agonising over our teams.

        • Raziel says:

Robin. I’d pick a defender that has 2 homegames. Loads of people going for Hutton/Vlaar. Apart from City I think Villa have the best home fixtures.

Just talking from past experience. You really need to be able to field 11 players when you can. Buff up that defense. Anyway, I’m off. Cya. smile

        • Raziel says:

Aaah yes, if you do go for someone. Go with someone you will know will always play. Like Vlaar or Hutton. We actually still don’t know what will happen with Clark when Senderos returns (he will have a late fit test I think). Clark might be bench warmer again. Vlaar is captain I think? OR at least the main guy, Hutton when fit played everything (I have him, hope he starts, you never know with Xmas rotation). Sighs.
