Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 31
Our slow methodical climb back into the top 1K continues. With our third straight green arrow on the bounce, we managed to move into 1740th place in the overall. This was a jump of 782 spots for us after a score of 91 for the week. Nice little move there, now let’s have a quick review on how it is it came about before we move onto our team for double game-week 31.
In goal once again we went with Ospina, not like we had much of a choice with Foster injured. Frustratingly though Arsenal conceded once again, making that 4 out of the last 6 where they gave up just one goal. In our backline we went with the ever trustworthy Terry. With Chelsea visiting Hull this looked like an easy opportunity for some clean sheet points. Frustratingly though Chelsea conceded once again, hmmmm, that sounds familiar. Oh well you can’t win them all I guess, probably feels similar to how John Terry feels when he strikes out with a mate’s wife. Well enough about them two big club players and their lack of production. Onto our pride and joy in the back, double Saints defenders. We decided to take a bit of a chance with a double up and 17 points later the tandem of Clyne and Alderweireld had delivered for us. With decent fixtures upcoming we hope our Southampton duo continue to show their worth.
In a great scoring week, we obviously needed our mids to score for fun. This week they didn’t disappoint us and all delivered either with an assist or a goal. Silva and Hazard both scored 9 for us, each powered by grabbing a goal. While our two other mids Eriksen and Caz each grabbed an assist, scoring 5 and 6 respectively. No real need to say much more, no need to jinx it.
Up top we have our high priced striker Sergio Aguero. That is three straight games with 2 points for the mighty Argentinian. Not sure how much longer we can continue to pay a premium price for average to bad returns. Fortunately though we have the HurriKane picking up the slack. Not only did he deliver a hat-trick, but it was doubled because he happened to be our captain. There could have been a better value player in the past, but I sure as heck can’t remember it. In the other striker slot we have a poor man’s Kane in Charlie Austin. Austin was able to grab 5 points and while no major haul, that is the same Kun has managed in the last 2 games and a half. Ok enough about the week that was, let us move along to our plans for this game-week.
Transfer(s) for GW31 – Sold Foster bought Myhill
Not the most glamorous of transfers but a sensible one never the less. With few other pressing issues to attend to and the DGW itself not exactly screaming out to be covered any more than we already have, in the shape of Austin, we decided now was a good time to fix an impending goalkeeper issue. Our other keeper is Ospina of Arsenal which would have meant us having to fix this at some point prior to GW33 as we would have had no keeper for that week. Davis of Southampton was an option but we already have two Saints defenders. Given West Brom’s good recent home form and their next two being at the Hawthorns we decided to try and take full advantage of this in the short term at least and so we bought Foster’s replacement Boaz Myhill.
Our team in full…
The team pretty much picked itself this week with little or no debate over any of the line-up.
Captain
Our captain this week is Harry Kane
Whilst the team picked itself the captaincy issue split opinion to say the least! For possibly the first time this season we had no majority pick. The voting was split fairly evenly amongst Kane, Aguero and Austin. Cups of tea were thrown and tears were shed. After one of the longest and most violent debates ever the white smoke emerged and Harry Kane stepped forth.
Our vice-captain is Sergio Aguero
We didn’t even bother debating this, we had nothing left to give.
The team in text format is –
Myhill
Terry Clyne van Aanholt
Silva Hazard Eriksen Cazorla
Kane(c) Aguero(vc) Austin
Subs – Ospina, Puncheon Alderweireld Baird

Morning all!!
Team for GW31. Good to go?
Thinking Ozil/sanchez to mata?
Mitro
Think I’m going Caz to Mata later today. I’d do one of those if I were you. Perhaps because of his travelling this past week maybe Sanchez? Boosts your transfer kitty more as well I guess.
How do GP!
Think I’m going to give sanchez one more week and do Ozil ( been saying that for the past 5 weeks)
Who’s your cappo choice?
Mitro
Still thinking it over.
Maybe Hazard.
It’s going to be a tough one this week!
Head is saying kun, gut is saying kane/hazard!
Mitro, im not sure on Mata, stats don’t look that good. I could be totally wrong so feel free to ignore but id be more inclined for a punt on Fellani. Good luck mate.
Morning mate!
Yep fellaini is in great form!! I’ve got another 24 hours to think on it!
Cappo?
Mitro, at Present Austin but maybe Kane, hazard or Augero! Does that help? What about you?
Hey guys.Any advice on what should i do with this team
Myhill Forster
Rose Alderweireld Terry Dawson Wollscheid
Cazorla Hazard Sterling Philips Silva
Aguero Kane Giroud
Have 1ft and 0.3m itb
Shane
Unless you want to make a move to replace Forster just now, I’d save the FT I think.
Shane, hold, hold, hold.
Shane, keep the ft in the bank, but who do you propose to bench out of the front 8 ?
Morning all looking fwd to GW but still a bit undecided on cap between Austin & Kane any thoughts
Silver
In a straight head to head for this week I think I’d still go Harry even with a game less.
Hello GP, but the fun of a DGW player as capo?!?!?!? This one is difficult!
Evening ally, how are we? Thanks for all the articles this week, I have popped in and read most but haven’t stopped to even say thanks which is a very poor show! So last minute capo thoughts?!
Hey Alex how are we Im stuck between Austin & Kane just thk with Kane being away with England he might be a bit drained how about you
Hey Silver, Im on Austin at the minute, whats your gut feeling?
Alex
Morning mate. Its a tricky one. Gut feeling on Saturday morning I think.
Having said that, I think most will be either Austin, Kane or Aguero so Hazard could be a masterstroke this week. I’m thinking about him currently but I’m trying a calculated risk or two at this stage to make some inroads in the top 50K.
GP, its a great call and one I had thought about but Stoke can defender and thats what worries me. Ive just realised the games art tonight (my time) as I’ve been thinking all day! Ah the joys of an extra day off!!!! Haha
Alex
Its brilliant. I’m off for five days. Lovely.
Off out with the family shortly so best of luck at the weekend mate. Go Austin 😉
Laters GP
Cheers Gp & Alex had to go so cap is stuck on Austin fingers crossed have a good GW
Hello friends..any suggestions on my current team to bring me out of the misery. dropped from 30k to 600k in 15 weeks and still slipping. want to reach a decent top 100k now if possible..pl help me out.. snapshot attached..thanks a ton
Constantine
I’ve missed the news on Lloris but maybe now will come in that later. Regardless, Pantillimon can play this week.
On paper your midfield is solid enough. Good fixtures ahead for them too. My transfer though would be Sanchez to Silva.
After that I would try to strengthen Bruce to some Swansea.
Hi all,
2FT, 0,1m in the bank
My team looks ok but there are a couple of things I would like to change.
1) Terry + Mata for McShane + Sanchez
2) Myhill + Terry + Mata for Pantilimon + Baird + Sanchez (-4)
3) Davis for Pantilimon instead of Myhill. Feel like Bertrand offers sufficient cover for Soton and Brom have a few great fixtures.
Is Mata in for Sanchez worth it? Any better alternatives to Mata given his fixtures after Villa?
@ AT
I have the same dilemma. You really need to start thinking about GW33 and fielding 11 players then. With Bellerin, Sanchez, Giroud, McShane and Baird (always a doubt) plus JwP I doubt you can field 11.
Anyway, I’m on 2ft’s and I think I might keep Sanchez for the Pool game tomorrow. I think the Pool defense without Skretl will be exposed. Also, versus Brazil ”Sanchez” was the best man on the pitch.
