Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 32
Well we sure know how to kill momentum in a hurry. A slow methodical climb back inside the top 2k was followed by a swift kick in the gut and a drop back outside of it. We now reside in 2810th place after a drop of 1070 spots and are looking shakier than Pelligrini’s job. Fortunately we are highly qualified in the art of denial so we feel our job is safe. Now let’s give a quick rundown of how our team fell apart worse than City’s title hopes.
In Pulis we trust! Right until he allowed known wimpy road pushovers stick 4 in the back of the net. Splendid that Myhill transfer has turned out to be so far. Luckily though, we had Terry and surely a Stamford Bridge clean sheet was on the cards. We mean, the only chance Stoke had of scoring was if the goalkeeper was caught way out of position and a Stoke player shot it from 65 yards or something…Thanks a lot Thibaut! In other defensive business, we had Clyne and the Saints take on Everton. One quick glance at the Everton front line and a barrel of laughs later, surely we would get an easy clean sheet out of this? Never mind! Moving along to our last defender PvA, Thank You! Good to see someone showed up.
In our talented midfield, mostly because we have no English born players, it was a disappointing display. Only one who bothered to produce was the one and only Eden Hazard. 13 points for our Belgium standout. Hazard has now produced 17 bonus points out of a possible 24 in his last 8 games. We do love Eden, oh yes we do. Ok, we are waffling on about him, but frankly the other 3 are barely worth mentioning. Silva, Cazorla and Eriksen managed 8 points between them and some of these fellas are screaming to be transferred out. Don’t tempt us, because we are certainly looking for someone to blame besides ourselves.
Up front we played our dynamic duo and some guy named Austin. It was a long heated debate about who to captain. There were chairs tossed and things said that can’t be repeated on here. Who to go for Kane or Kun? It got ugly, but in the end we ended with English super hero Harry Kane. As we watched the nightmare 2 pointer from Kane come in, the Aguero contingent stormed out of the room and was overheard saying, “We should have went with the Argentinian”. As we watched the nightmare 2 pointer come in from Kun, the Kane contingent stormed out the room and remarked “We should have captained who?” in a mocking fashion. Then one brave soul in the back of the room, oddly enough known as the Chicken responded “We should have went for Austin” That was the last time anyone has seen or heard from that chicken. Ok then now let us get to our decision on the upcoming week before someone incriminates themselves.
Transfer(s) for GW32 –
We thought long and hard (ish) about whether we needed to make a transfer or not. We contemplated selling Austin for a cheap short-term replacement but after some deliberation we have decided to give the Rangers hero a stay of execution – mainly out of sympathy that we didn’t captain him last week. And to appease the chicken. So we can confirm we have held our transfer and will have two for next week.
Our team in full…
We had one tough decision to make this week and that was whether to play Puncheon away to Sunderland or Austin home to Chelsea. Aagin, the debate was lively and violent and came down to a casting vote from the chicken. So yes, you’ve guessed it, Austin plays! He loves Austin. Sorry Jason, please don’t hurt us too much. We’re obviously hoping that double Saints defence at home to Hull stabilises our defence somewhat while we’re not sure who will win the Terry vs Austin battle, but at least we have most bases covered!
Captain
Our captain this week is Harry Kane
There were some call for Hazard to be given the armband and frankly they were strong claims having watched QPR defend at Villa. However, we decided to go with Kane again – surely he is due after last week’s blank at Burnley. Villa’s defending was almost as bad as QPR’s so we’re expecting goals at the Lane at the weekend and we all know that if Spurs score, then K….noooo let’s not jinx it!
Our vice-captain is Eden Hazard
The team in text format is –
Myhill
Terry, Clyne, Alderweireld
Silva, Hazard (v), Eriksen, Cazorla
Kane (c), Aguero, Austin
Subs: Ospina. Puncheon, van Aanholt, Baird.
Subs –
Thanks for reading Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 32.
And don’t forget to vote in our Captains Poll for GW32 [polldaddy poll=8519164]
hi all, my team is-
Davies (hamer)
terry-rose-mertesacker (haidara-hutton)
hazard-eriksson-downing-cazorla (boyd)
Kun-Kane-austin
1 FT with 3.9 minl ITB
Please suggest me whether to hold the FT or to use it. Any weak links in my team and suggested move. Thank you.
Austin > Gomis … imo
I have the same dilemma do I play Puncheon?
I have exactly the same midfield but I don’t have Austin so therefore I have a Spurs/City/Arsenal double up.
1) I could play him instead of Kun/Silva as they play united
2) Over Eriksen due to Kane
3) Instead of Cazorla as I have Giroud
Thanks
I’m benching him. He’s not going to score a free kick like that every week, plus spurs and Arsenal have slightly better fixtures and Caz is on penalties.
Ripcurl – if they’re the options, I’d stick with benching Puncheon. I fancy City to be up for the derby, and can’t see a case for benching Eriksen or Cazorla given their opposition this week.
+1
Thanks guys and good luck this GW
Morning all, getting keen for the weekend here- that’s a nice looking team FF247!
Mine is relatively similar, and if I didn’t have 2 FTs I would be sitting on my hands this week. As it is, I need to make a transfer and having been arguing Naughton/Lloris > Dann/Davis as a spot of necessary housework versus Austin > Murray/Gomis/Remy?! as a wild punt. I am not particularly chasing in mini leagues (though remind me: do top 2 in the Banterbury Qual Leagues get promoted anywhere?) and my overall ranking is also good (top 10k). I don’t mind a gamble though, got no money riding on anything. Will be chewing this decision over the rest of today I imagine, haha
Evening Pippin – perhaps upgrading PVA might be an option this week. I don’t fancy them to keep out Palace, and I see you’ve got the WC handy. Squad looks good otherwise.
Cheers Blue. I hadn’t considered that, though considering his mediocre returns there’s little reason to hold him…he also has a blank next week, so it would be a useful transfer in that sense. Get him out for one of the Palace guys maybe? Can’t buy much with only 5.0m at the back…
How about Rose? Or Taylor?
Rose is tempting (as is Dier) but I have 3 Spurs already; would need to get shot of Lloris or Eriksen too (which I’m certainly intending in my WC). Taylor is a good option, though I worry that Swansea will sign off for the summer soon… Thanks for the input though- lots to mull over!
Apologies, didn’t notice the 3 spurs. That WC puts you in an enviable position: what’s the goal from here? Top 4-5K, perhaps even better with a good use of the WC?
Hi Pippin I am similar to you. I think about sending Autin on his way but to who as I have 1.0 ITB and I want to change Cazilora to Fabregas after this week – and suggestions guys?
Morning all,
Any suggestions as to what I should do with my bunch of merry men
I’ve got 2.7m in the bank and 1FT. I’ll be using my WC ahead of GW34 so I’m not concerned with setting up for the DGW!
Hi Kop. I might take the captaincy off Austin (though after last week, who knows??) but otherwise I think you are all set. Only 1FT means you can sit tight and use both to accommodate your needs in the BGW and then wildcard happily once that’s out the way. I will be doing the same, more or less, look forward to comparing notes!
Cheers Pippin, don’t worry I wont be captaining Charlie this week
I hadn’t actually considered holding the transfer but you might just be onto something!
Evening Kop – do you fancy a punt? Admittedly, I can’t believe I’m proposing this (Init will love me for it, though), but what about a stab at an Everton defender (Baines/Coleman) and bench Austin? Rationale: Everton looked solid last week, they will keep a few CSs now that Europe is out of the way, and I have a nagging suspicion that Swansea will put the cue in the rack for 2014/5 shortly, if not from this week. Again, a fancy punt. But I can see at least some attacking returns for Baines/Coleman this week.
Cheers Blue, but that’s probably a bit radical for a conservative like myself
Go on – you know you want to!!
Just ask Cookie, Init or Mito and they’ll tell you that I don’t
He really, really doesn’t want to Blue Moon. Kop could make me fall asleep while giving me money. :hippo:
Hi Kop. Seeing as you still have that WC (bastardo :finger: ) would you consider Austin -> Giroud this week for the Burnley game, then Giroud -> Murray for the blank? Then WC the hell out of the place for the double. Just a thought.
This is a very good plan, liking this a lot!
Could work out really well if no injuries are picked up. Right, i’ve got to head off. Chat later folks. Happy tinkering.
NIN – I think KOP’s already worked out his moves but just wants to rub the WC in our faces :biggun:
Cheers NIN. That’s a great shout. My only concern would be that I would then have 2 Arsenal & 1 Sunderland neither of whom will play next week and I can’t be certain that JWP will play!
Hi all. Hope it’s going well for you all. Play Myhill over Ospina? I see that that the FF-team does it. But Burnley doesnt look to strong going forward, and WBA let in 4 goals last time!
jake – it’s a valid concern! And no reason why Leicester won’t show the same desperation as demonstrated by QPR as they fight for survival. I brought in double WBA defence last week and boy was that a masterstroke! My gut feeling, though, is that WBA will bounce back and Leicester’s relegation from the Premier League will be all but sealed.
Nice team there FF247, hope it gets back to top 1K right away.
GW32 is actualy about GW33 and GW34 for everyone with an honest XI to field this week isn’t it?
So the main goal should be to actualy also field an honest XI on GW33 while preparating the team to get as many DGWeekers you can on GW34.
I sense that even leicester mids/forwards are worth a punt given they play at home on GW33 and then should at least make 4 pts on GW34 which wont be that bad for cheapies. In light of that the sensible moves would probably be to not bring in anyone that i) doesn’t play on GW33 or that ii) doens’t have a DG on GW34.
For me this comes with an exception in the form of Kelvin Davis cause I dont have a keeper for GW33 and I surely don’t want to burn my chelsea 3 amigos bunch on Thibaut.
Luckly I have 2 FT so would probably just do Pants-»K. Davis this GW, Austin-»leicester forward on GW33 and 2 DGW on GW34 thus leaving me with 6 DGWs on GW34.
Sounds like a plan?
Thx.
